Straight Outta the Cage

Chapter 23

P.O.V. Of Adam

My group returned to the bunker just before sunset, no luck finding Michael. We were all tired and our spirits were low, but nothing prepared us for what we were about to see and hear. Upon entering the bunker, we saw the place was a mess and the angels and demons looked shaken up.

"What happened?! Is everyone alright?" I asked.

"Michael sent angels to attack... some of us were sent back to Heaven and Hell. It will take some time for them to return." said a demon. I sighed and covered my face with my hands.

"This is gonna be harder than we thought. You, you, you, and you." I said, pointing to a few angels and demons. "You go find others who will be willing to join the fight on our side."

Cas nodded. "Good idea... but where are Sam and Lucifer. We agreed to meet back here at sunset..."

"Oh no. Cas, you don't think that..."

"Perhaps Gabriel found them first..." Samandriel frowned.

"So Gabriel was lying to us the whole time?" Kevin asked.

"We don't know that! We need to go back out there and look for them!" I said. Cas shook his head.

"No Adam. It's already too dangerous that we have lost some of us and we are sending more out. We have to wait until morning." I sighed.

"Alright... fine. But we head out at sunrise."

I walked away and went into a separate room alone. I looked around at everything, messy and strewn about. I thought about where Sam and Lucifer could possibly be, where Dean... Michael was. Both my brothers... were gone.

Anger swept over me like a huge wave and I lost it. Any remaining books on the shelves were torn off in rage, thrown about the room, hitting walls. I ran my fingers through my hair, then swiped my arm angrily over the table, making papers and other things go flying. But then, I felt arms grab me. I flailed around, trying to shake them, but they tightened their grip. I looked up to see Samandriel was embracing me, trying to calm me down.

"Adam... stop..." his voice was stern, but understanding. It held a relaxing quality to it that took my blood pressure down. I breathed in deeply, letting my anger fade away.

"Adam... we're trying the best we can. I know it is frustrating... I know it's confusing... we'll find them. I promise." Samandriel murmured. I nodded and sighed.

"Okay..."

"You're so much like your brothers..." the voice of Cas came and Samandriel and I looked up.

"Really?" I asked. Cas nodded.

"Every time I look at you, all I see is them, or perhaps your father... since you all have it."

"You love Dean... don't you Cas?"

"I've already been asked this question... but yes. I do. And I will do anything it takes to get him back from Michael..."

"Castiel... you know what may have to happen... perhaps now it is unavoidable, no matter how much we try to stop it..." Samandriel sighed.

"You aren't saying that Lucifer is going to have to possess Sam and that the two are going to have to fight... are you?"

Samandriel didn't say anything, just looked at me and frowned.

"I'm sorry Adam..."

"NO!" I yelled at them suddenly. "They are the only family I have left and I don't care if they left me in Hell! I am not going to let your siblings kill them. Michael is really getting on my nerves with his god damned holier than thou attitude. No pun intended since you guys are kinda holy... But GOD! He's so obnoxious! He's like a spoiled rotten little kid who thinks he deserves everything he wants! Your father must of been way too lenient."

"Our father has been missing for a while..." Samandriel sighed.

"Angels have been looking for him... a lot." Cas added.

"I'm sorry..."

I stood in silence with the two angels for a few seconds until I heard a yell. I took off towards the door, only to have it explode open in my face. Dean stood in the doorframe, blood covering his hands.

"Where is my brother...?"

And just by the sound of his voice, I knew he was not talking about Sam... Only Samandriel could speak, squeaking out the single word:

"M-Michael..."

P.O.V. Of Sam

I woke up on the floor of a dark room, causing me to have to wait a minute for my eyes to adjust. But then I heard my name.

"Sam..."

"Lucifer?" I asked. Then, when my eyes finally got used to the darker place, I saw Gabriel emerge in front of me. I slide backwards fast, trying to get away from him.

"Relax! And stay quiet. No time to explain. You need to come with me. There's something you have to see."

"What are you doing? Why are you working with Michael?" I snapped.

"Shh! Kid, I'm not. I'm just making all these lackeys believe I am. I'm still on your side, I promise. But there's something you need to see!" Gabe handed me handcuffs. "Put these on, in case someone sees you out of here."

I gave into him and put on the cuffs. He took me out of the room, light surprising my eyes. We walked down an illuminated hallway and about halfway down he stopped at a door.

"Here," he said, opening the door. We walked into an empty room with a wall of glass, but then I realized it was one of those one way mirrors they have in police stations. But we definitely were not in a police station... instead of just a simple table and chair on the other side, I was shocked by what I saw. It looked like some sort of torture chamber. Lucifer laid, strapped to a table, some angel or demon, standing over him. I could hear her asking Lucifer questions and when he did not give her the answers she was looking for, she would take some sort of weapon from another table and would wound him with it.

"Why aren't you in your vessel?" she asked.

"Well, you see. Sam and I have yet to hit that part of our relationship yet. We're taking things slow- urg." Lucifer made a face when she sliced him with an angel blade. I winced in pain. She lowered her face down to his.

"You know the way this ends, Lucifer. WHY aren't you getting the younger Winchester's permission."

"It doesn't have to end this wa-ahh!" Lucifer writhed in pain on the table as she cut deeper into him. I cried out at the pain I felt this time.

"I will have Gabriel bring Sam in here and he will torture you himself until he is forced to say yet or I will kill him. Since you two have become so buddy-buddy, he won't be able to stand to see you in pain. With the connection you two have, he should feel everything, even now."

"Gabe, we have to do something!" I exclaimed.

"Sam... there's only one way..."

"What is it?"

"If you let Lucifer inside you, the two of you can escape together. And then you can get back to the others... hopefully before Michael does."

"But what about you?"

"Don't worry about me! You need to get to the others. Fast Michael is on his way to them as we speak."

"Fine... I'll do it. Get me in there. Wait. Can't I just use the telepathy to say yes?"

"No, he needs verbal consent. Come on." Gabe pulled me back out the door and down the hall a little further. He opened the door to the chamber, surprising the demon or angel that was torturing Lucifer.

"Gabriel. What are you doing?"

"I heard you wanted... NOW SAM!"

"Lucifer! YES!"

Lucifer looked at me with sad eyes.

"Sam, no..."

"NOW! I said YES!"

"Gabriel no! This is not what I wanted!" The woman yelled. But then I felt it. Lucifer entering me... just as hot as the first time. I forgot how strange it was, still being able to see, but not completely control my body.

"Lucifer, run!" Gabe called, taking an angel blade out of his jacket. When he turned, he was too slow. The last thing Lucifer and I saw before we disappeared was the woman's angel blade of her own piercing Gabriel. He lit up and we were gone...
