The New Start

By Chloe Brodkin

Mystery / Romance

short sequel

It had been months since they broke up, neither of them had wanted to leave each other, but Carol had to face the deadly consequences of her actions.

Her husband loved her too much and had trouble letting her go. Her loveless marriage felt like she was trapped in a big ball of fire. She had to fight for a divorce and through a dreadful custody battle.

Was her husband really a better parent? He seemed controlling, not to mention aggressive and forceful, but Carol was unfit for motherhood because she engaged in this different romance.

Carol had to accept that her husband would keep her child and she could be free. It took her an awfully long time to come to terms with this new arrangement because she loved her little daughter dearly. Her daughter had to be as strong as an iron princess while her mother was sent away.

Therese had tried to call Carol many times. She had continued laboring over her photographs and made a portfolio about her relationship with Carol. She treasured a photograph of Carol in a lovely fur coat.

She didn’t know if Carol was ready to try again, but she decided to take the chance and meet her for dinner anyway. They had barely starting talking, when Therese was called away to a party and she started having second thoughts. Could she trust Carol again? But if she didn’t take a chance now, she would lose her chance for life. She spotted Carol’s familiar smirk and knew they could start over once more.

Toria Danielle: I must congratulate Erin Swan on completing such a beautiful work. The Rising Sun is well rounded and leaves nothing to be wanted. ALL of the characters and their development are beautifully written. The plot is extremely well thought out. Creating a whole different type of universe is difficult ...

Jessie: I wrote a review on fanfiction but I thought it would be fitting to write on on here too :) This story was honestly stunning. I am a budding writer myself and to read this- to FEEL this- reminded me of why I am honoured to have this passion and drive for a craft that is just so raw and beautiful.

Usagi Kita: This story is emotional from beginning to end. You get to watch the characters struggle and grow, maturing in different ways so that they come to be the people they are meant to be. Inea is insanely adorable, and his antics made me laugh more than once, and Kaedon is perfect for him in so many wa...

Spring: I normally don't read fiction novels, but I absolutely enjoyed reading Silent Shadows! The style is quite different from the previous fiction novels I've attempted to read. Great job!

Julia Summers PA: Reading this now. It's fun, hilariously fabulous yet taste of what you desire in a unusual read. I will post an actual review when I am finished. But so far loving the flow and the story seems to keep me drawn

Alex Rushmer: This was not what I expected, but I enjoyed it a lot Malfoy was always one of the characters that I liked a lot, so I like that a lot of this happens between him and Colette. I read the first couple chapters, and I enjoyed your writing style and am excited to see where you take this story. My com...

Jean Tryon: As a beta, I found this story outstanding!! Plot, grammar, phraseology, etc Rachel gives us it all. She takes the story into the future from where due South ends. She is an exacting and thoughtful author.

Ashley Stryker: So I'm writing this review, keeping in mind that this is a work in progress and it's part of National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo), so my "deeper" critiques will be saved until it's all finished up.+ Chapter One: A stewardess would not talk to anyone quite like that, particularly a clear minor...

Ro-Ange Olson: Loved it and couldn't put it down. I really hope there is a sequel. Well written and the plot really moves forward.
