This part is explaining what type of Keepers are in the book. I am explaining what each Keepers' role is in the book and what their powers are.
Keeper:
A Keeper is a mythical sea creature with the head and trunk of a Human, and the tail of a fish.
Conventionally depicted as beautiful and individually have hair colours that are all the shades of the rainbow. Keepers can mate and full in love with any sex. They do not have a rule against it.
Sirads are the most powerful Keeper. They are the head of the household and are in charge of their own group. Some Sirads can live on their own or can live under another household. Some Sirads are stronger than others because they have turned earlier than others and have been one longer.
Unlike Keepers who have hair colours that are all the shades of the rainbow, they have hair that is a white-grey colour. They are Keepers that are in the beginning Sirens or Srienesses, but turn into Sirads after they kill a Human.
After they turn into Sirads, they have to eat at least three human hearts, if they don’t they can die. When they turn, their hair also turns into the white-grey colour and their powers change as well.
Their powers include;
> Changing Humans into Sirens, which involves them drinking a potion that has sea water, a dried up crushed scale for a Sirad’s tale and a tablespoon of a Sirad’s blood.
> Make Humans immune to a Siren or Sirenesses powers of seduction, which involves them drinking a potion that has sea water, a piece of a special type of rare seaweed and a piece of a Sirad’s hair.
>They can make any potion that they want, just like a wizards or witches, because they have the powers to. (No, they don’t have wonds, okay. This isn’t Harry Potter. The only magic they make is through potions not spells).
>They can tell if humans are lying to them. A red light highlights their silhouette when they do.
>Then can read a Human's thoughts and what they are thinking.
>They DON'T have the ability of unintentionally seducing Humans, which is why they are the head of the household and look after their Keepers.
Sirens:
Sirens are male Keepers. They are either born one or can be a Human that is changed into a Siren by a Sirad. Sirens have to be in a Human form to mate by having sex.(I’m not going to write mermaid smut people, it's not gonna happen!)
They live in a household full of other Keepers, that have a Sirad as the head of the house. Sirens CAN’T live on their own because it can put them in great danger of being caught, found out by Humans or unintentionally seduce Humans more likely than usual.
Sirens are all the same and none are stronger than others, regardless of how much earlier some of them turn from Humans to Sirens or have been a Siren longer.
After they turn into Sirens, they DO NOT have to eat human hearts, and they die just like Humans from natural deaths, accidents or if someone kills them.
When they turn from Humans to Sirens, their hair changes colour into any of the shades of the rainbow and they gain powers as well.
Their powers include;
> They CAN’T change Humans into Sirens or make them immune to their powers and have to ask Sirads for help in doing so.
>They can tell if humans are lying to them. A red light highlights their silhouette when they do.
>Then can read a Human's thoughts and what they are thinking.
>They HAVE the ability of unintentionally seducing Humans, which is why they don’t usually leave the household and only do so if they go in a group (unlike Jimin who likes to rebel), to keep safe.
Sireness:
Sirenesses are female Keepers. They are either born one or can be a Human that is changed into a Sireness by a Sirad. Sirenessess can get pregnant but have to be in a Human form to mate and to be able to give birth. (Again, I ain't wright mermaid smut people, I refuse!)
They live in a household full of other Keepers, that have a Sirad as the head of the house.
Sirenessess CAN’T live on their own because it can put them in great danger of being caught, found out by Humans or unintentionally seduce Humans more likely than usual.
Sirenessess are all the same and none are stronger than others, regardless of how much earlier some of them turn from Humans to Sirenessess or have been a Sireness longer.
After they turn into Sirenessess, they DO NOT have to eat human hearts, and they die just like Humans from natural deaths, accidents or if someone kills them.
When they turn from Humans to Sirenessess, their hair changes colour into any of the shades of the rainbow and they gain powers as well.
Their powers include;
> They CAN’T change Humans into Sirenessess or make them immune to their powers and have to ask Sirads for help in doing so.
>They can tell if humans are lying to them. A red light highlights their silhouette when they do.
>Then can read a Human's thoughts and what they are thinking.
>They HAVE the ability of unintentionally seducing Humans, which is why they don’t usually leave the household and only do so if they go in a group, to keep safe.
This part is explaining what type of Humans are in the book. I am pretty much translating words that are in Korean in the book into English and explaining what it is and the meaning.
Humans:
I'm just gonna let you know, and be the one to tell you, and I don't care if I sound like a bitch…but honey...if you don't know what a Human is, then you must be a fucken alien. Sorry not sorry.
Abeoji, Appa and Ajeossi:
Abeoji is the Korean word for Father, which is a man usually from the ages of eighteen-plus (unless you are a teenage parent...I guess), who either has had a child with a woman, is a step father of a child or has adopted a child.
Appa is the Korean word for Dad or is the informal word of Abeoji, which is exactly the same as what I explain above.
Ajeossi is the Korean word for Sir or Mister, which is usually a man who is ten-plus years older than you.
Eomeoni, Eomma and Ajamma:
Eomeoni is the Korean word for Mother, which is a woman usually from the ages of eighteen-plus (again, unless you are a teenage parent), who either has had a child with a man, is a step Mother of a child or has adopted a child.
Eomma is the Korean word for Mum/Mom or is the informal word of Eomeoni, which is again, exactly the same as what I explain above.
Ajamma is the Korean word for Ma'am or Madam , which is usually a woman who is ten-plus years older than you.
Hyung and Oppa:
Hyung is the Korean word that doesn’t actually have any English translation. The meaning is a male that is one or more years older than another male at any age.
For example; in this book one of the main male characters Jimin who is twenty-five(25) is younger than Namjoon who's a male age twenty-six(26), Yoongi who's a male age twenty-seven(27) and Seokjin who's a male age twenty-eight(28), which means they are all his Hyung.
Oppa is the Korean word that doesn’t actually have any English translation. The meaning is a male that is one or more years older than a female at any age.
For example; in this book one of the main male characters Jimin who is twenty-five(25) is older than Rose who's a female age twenty-three(23), which means he is her oppa.
Eonnie and Noona:
Eonnie is the Korean word that doesn’t actually have any English translation. The meaning is a female that is one or more years older than another female at any age.
For example; in this book one of the female characters Rose who is twenty-three(22) is younger than Jisoo who's a female age twenty-five(25), and Jessie who's a female age thirty-one(31) ,which means they are both her Eonnie.
Noona is the Korean word that doesn’t actually have any English translation. The meaning is a female that is one or more years older than a male at any age.
For example; in this book one of the main male characters Jimin who is twenty-five(25) is younger than Jessie who's a female age thirty-one(31), which means she is his Noona.
