Asgardian Lovers

Chapter Nine

I stay the night at the palace, Astrid and Astra already have a room prepared for me. I slip into some sleeping clothes and sit at a little desk in the room. I’m about to write a letter to my mother, when there’s a knock at my door. I put on a robe and go to answer it, I open the door and Loki’s there, he smiles when he sees me.

“Come in!” I say moving out of the door way.

Loki walks in and sits on a couch in front of the fireplace in my room. I sit next to him and cup his hands in mine.

“Are you enjoying your time here?” He asks.

“Of course! It’s beautiful here,”

“I’m happy to hear that,”

He kisses my forehead and I smile up at him. I feel myself start to doze off, so I lie my head on his shoulder and close my eyes, a great way to end such an amazing day.

I wake up the next morning in my bed, suspecting that Loki helped me into there while I was half asleep some time in the early morning. I get dressed in a flowing blue dress I found in the wardrobe at the corner of my room and start writing the letter to my mom;

Dear mother,
I snuck out last night to the Handvelja Dance while you were sleeping. I will be marrying one of the princes and become the next Queen of Asgard. You’re the reason all this greatness is happening to me, if you hadn’t sent me to get the fruit, I would’ve never met my true love, and I am eternally grateful. I have finally found love because of you. You’re most likely wondering which prince I’ll be marrying, and the answer to that, Prince Loki.

Your daughter,

I sigh and roll up the letter, tying it with a piece of string. I leave my room to go take a brisk morning stroll in the gardens, I go to the Holtasoley section and to my surprise, Loki is there.

“Good morning darling,” He says.

“Good morning!”

“Sleep well last night?”

“Oh yes, it’s the best night of sleep I’ve had!”

“Glad to hear,”

We sit on a little stone bench, “I have a great thing planned for us!” He says.

At that moment, a horse-drawn carriage pulls up near us. We go over to it and Loki helps me up onto the caravan. He sits next to me and grabs my hand.

“Where are we going?” I ask.

“You’ll see,” he winks, “just sit back and enjoy the ride.

I kiss him and the carriage starts moving, I can’t wait to get there! I think to myself.
