Draco receives the devastating news of his mother's 'condition' as pressure from Voldemort to kill Albus Dumbledore is split between him and his lover. The two wear the same 'sleeve' with varying weights, both of them on the brink of drowning themselves in fatigue to the sea of the Dark Lord's mercy. But though Magnolia has been dragged through hell, Draco still showered love in her direction. It was the definition of rain reviving dead petals. And because she couldn't bloom herself, she ripped wildflowers out of the ground and sipped on the stems of roses as if they were straws, passive that the thorns bloodied her mouth.
