CHANTEL MONET WAS A SWEET, fiery, and extremely formidable girl; a vehement fighter.

Everything she knew, stood for, and believed in was because of her mother. Her mother began to teach her only two daughters the essential things in life; how to act, how to dress, but most importantly, how to treat others. And while Chantel was Ronette’s twin sister, the only commonality they shared was the sisterly bond and revolutionary beliefs their mother instilled in them from a very young age.

While her mother taught Ronette how to shamelessly and inwardly express herself and her beliefs on a piece of paper, Chantel, being the louder and more outspoken of the two, was taught the importance of boldly vocalizing her innermost thoughts, expressing herself and her beliefs with spoken words.

She had fully immersed herself in classical works of literature, teaching herself of the strategies of battle, enraptured by stories of war and intense passion. And there was something in her mother’s eyes that just told her that she was immensely proud of her youngest daughter.

Chantel’s life was pure bliss... until the day of the death of her mother, on which her world, and her pride, was shattered.

After a series of macabre and horrid events that followed that eventful date, stretching over a span of nearly three years, Chantel fled from her childhood home in Versailles, France all with the hope -however little there was- of starting anew. She wished for nothing more than to have a new life, one where no one knew of her or her past, where she did not have to constantly glance over her shoulder.

And upon crossing paths with a certain courageous revolutionary, it appeared her wish, as improbable as it was, would finally come true.

From the moment they met, they were clashing as if they had been adversaries all their lives. They challenged each other on issues no one dared before. When they were not spewing harsh words at each other, they were ignoring each other’s presence. But even during these periods, Chantel could not help but wonder what was running through his mind.

Never had she believed she would fall for one so obscenely similar to her. Nor did she believe she would ever fall for one who would never share her affections, as he was much too focused on the revolution to see her. She would deny all accusations that her stubborn soul was softening around him, but even as much as she hated to admit it, she could not deny to herself she was falling for the leader.

And maybe, just maybe, he was unknowingly falling for her too.

RONETTE MONET WAS A GIDDY, cheerful, and extremely cheeky girl; a hopeless romantic.

Everything she knew, stood for, and believed in was because of her mother. Her mother began to teach her only two daughters the essential things in life; how to act, how to dress, but most importantly, how to treat others. And while Ronette was Chantel’s twin sister, the only commonality they shared was the sisterly bond and revolutionary beliefs their mother instilled in them from a very young age.

While her mother taught Chantel how to boldly and outwardly express herself and her beliefs, Ronette, being the quieter and more reserved of the two, was taught the importance of pensively reflecting within herself, expressing herself and her beliefs on a piece of paper.

She had fully immersed herself in the classical works of literature, teaching herself about the wonders of nature, enraptured by stories of love and tender intrigue. And there was something in her mother’s eyes that just told her that she was immensely proud of her oldest daughter.

Ronette’s life was pure bliss... until the day of the death of her mother, on which her world, and her heart, was shattered.

After a series of macabre and horrid events that followed that eventful date, stretching over a span of three years, Ronette fled from her childhood home in Versailles, France all with the hope -however little there was- of starting anew. She wished for nothing more than to have a new life, one where she would not have to reminded of her past, where she could actually have a chance of finding happiness.

And it seemed upon crossing paths with a certain cynical drunk, it appeared her wish, as improbable as it was, would finally come true.

From the moment they met, they were inseparable as if they had known each other all their lives. They told each other things they had told no other. When they were not playfully teasing each other, they were silently enjoying each other’s presence. But even during these periods, Ronette could not help but wonder what was running through his mind.

Never had Ronette believed she would fall for one so obscenely peculiar from her. Nor did she believe she would ever fall for one who would never share her affections, as he was much too focused on another to see her. She would deny all accusations that her romantic soul was growing attached to him, but even as much as she hated to admit it, she could not deny to herself she was falling for the drunk.

And maybe, just maybe, he was unknowingly falling for her too.

❋DISCLAIMER ❋

This story is rated, by myself, PG-13(Violence, extremely mild cursing, and dark themes)

❗ IMPORTANT ❗

I am fully intending to make my story, in a way,
similar to the way the brick is written. I am attempting to
write shorter chapters ( no more than 3000-5000 ). At
certain parts in the book, there may be more exposition
than dialogue. More backstory will be given, but it
will most likely be cryptic.

As I add more chapters, let me know in the comments
what you think of this story style!

I am extremely excited to write this story and
I think everyone will love it! Please enjoy!
