I slowly sat up to grab my things, but was almost instantly pulled back against his chest.
"George, I have to go." I said while letting out a small giggle.
"Mmm.. why so quickly?" George said tiredly behind me, with a hint of poutiness in his voice.
"I have to leave before the other boys wake and see me.. you don't fancy another detention with Snape, do you?" I said, matter-of-factly.
He only let out a small chuckle and let go of my waist, "Okay, you're right."
I got up, put my shoes on, and quietly grabbed my bag.
"I'll see you in class later, love you." I said while placing a small kiss onto his forehead. I nearly melted out of admiration when he smiled, still half asleep.
I, as quietly as I could, exited the boys' dormitory and left the gryffindor common room.
I started to wander the corridors, as I do every morning. I'm not sure why I do it, I guess it's nice to wander without bumping into a thousand first years frantically searching for their classes. Even if it quite honestly is amusing to watch.
As I started making my way to the astronomy tower to watch the sun come up, I couldn't stop thinking about George. We've been together for a year and two months. I guess I had let my mind slip a little too much, because suddenly a taller than me, dark haired boy came from around the corner and bumped into me, knocking me straight to the floor.
I let out a quiet gasp of surprise out and looked up at the boy. The boy was Tom Riddle.
Tom Riddle, 6th year. Slytherin. Truly, the heartthrob of Hogwarts.
"Oh my god, Adalynn, I'm so sorry." He said with panic in his voice, quickly pulling me up.
"It's okay, Tom." I told him with a reassuring smile as I got up. "What are you doing up and out so early?"
"I should be asking you that, I'm head boy of Slytherin." He said.
"Oh! Oh, right. I remember." I shook my head and laughed a bit. "I was only going to watch the sun rise.. would you like to join?"
He looked a bit surprised that I asked him to join me. But quickly nodded his head and smiled sweetly.
"Y-yeah, yeah of course. That sounds wonderful."
I smiled back to him and grabbed his hand, leading him up to the Astronomy tower.
I looked back at him while walking up, and for some reason he seemed extremely flustered. Flustered and blush was creeping upon his cheeks. I just smiled to myself and looked forward again.
Once we made it all the way up, I let go of his hand and walked to the ledge. He followed me and leaned against the bar.
I looked at the sky as the sun was starting to rise. And in that moment, I felt happy. And free.
"Wow.. it's absolutely beautiful." I heard Tom suddenly say and I looked at him. He sighed in admiration as if he felt the same as I did, free and happy.
I just smiled and looked back at the sky. I had no worries. It was truly amazing.
Suddenly I felt eyes on me, and I could tell that Tom was staring at me. I looked at him and he smiled.
"What is it, Tom..?" I giggled. "Why are you looking at me like that?" I asked out of mere curiosity.
"I-.." he started, but then shook his head. "My apologies, I just never realized how beautiful you are.." he said while taking his gaze off me, and turning back to the sun. "Weasley is one lucky man."
I couldn't help but blush at his comment. The words lingered in my mind for some reason, and I couldn't shake the feeling that I was feeling.
"Thank you, Tom. That was very sweet of you." I smiled. That's all I could say. I shook away whatever feeling I had and looked around the tower.
I walked over to the space where there was no bar, and it was just the ledge. I looked out at the view of the trees and mountains, and just admired.
Tom walked over behind me, obviously towering over me, and admired as well.
At first I hadn't seen him. He let a sudden sigh slip out of his mouth and I flinched.
I quickly turned around on instinct and felt my foot slide off the ledge. I let a loud gasp and a sudden shriek of fear out as I felt myself about to fall.
But I suddenly felt a pair of arms around my waist, catching me.
My eyes were closed and my chest was moving rapidly up and down, as I was breathing heavily from the sudden rush of adrenaline and fear.
"Adalynn? Oh my god, are you okay??" I heard Tom speak as he was pulling me closer to him.
I opened my eyes and looked up at him, as we were inches apart. He was clearly in panic, but I could not look away. Something in his eyes, refrained me from speaking up or moving. It was like I was seeing him for the first time.
"Lynn..? What's going on?" He asked in sheer panic.
I was quickly brought back to reality and shakily stood upright. I shook my head and rubbed my eyes.
"I-I'm okay.." I said reassuringly and nodded. "I'm sorry, I'm not sure what happened." I sighed and was still thinking about that split second where I was completely smitten. "Thank you, for catching me."
"Don't mention it." He said while letting out a small chuckle. "Are you sure you're alright..? You look a bit spooked." I could hear the worry lingering in his voice.
I just nodded and looked around. "I- erm.. I have to go. I have to get ready for school." I said, clearly panicking and confused. I looked at him. "H-Have a good day, Tom." I nodded once more.
I quickly grabbed my bag and speed-walked down the stairs. I walked back through the corridors, my mind full of that moment.
What was wrong with me? Why did I want to kiss him?
Lynn, stop. You're dating George. It was just a heat of the moment kind of thing. Relax.
I quickly grounded myself and made my way to the Gryffindor common room.
"Caput Draconis." I quietly muttered to the Fat Lady. She looked at me and could tell I was in distress, and did not want to bother me, so she quickly let me in.
I walked in and quickly walked to my dormitory. I quietly opened the door and made my way to my bed.
I sat down and sighed, still thinking.
Not to my surprise, Hermione was awake. Reading and studying as usual. She looked at me and quickly closed her book.
"Addy? Are you alright?" She asked while coming over to me.
I just smiled and looked at her. "I'm okay, Mione. Thanks."
She just smiled and kissed the top of my head. "Good, just wanted to make sure. Make sure you get some rest before you have to get ready, okay?" She said, the way a mother would to a daughter.
I just giggled and nodded. "Yes, mother."
She gasped and threw her pillow at me. "Don't be rude, Addy. Now bed, or you're grounded."
We looked at each other and fell into a fit of giggles.
Ginny groaned in her sleep, clearly annoyed. "Shhhh!!"
Hermione and I looked at her, then at each other and giggled once more.
She laid back in her bed, and I laid in mine as well.
I stared at the ceiling, quickly drifting asleep to the thought of Tom Riddle holding my waist and looking into my eyes lingering in the back of my head.
