LEAVING HOME;
Ivy Black
My eyes fluttered open.
βFred- is that you? What do you-β I stuttered, looking over at the clock on my nightstand, which read 4:17 A.M.
βIvy, get up. Mum sent me to tell you.β Fred said in a gravelly voice. He shook my shoulder.
I sighed. I propped myself up on my elbows and looked up at the tall readhead looming over me. I waited for my eyes to adjust to the darkness.
βFred,β I said, yawning.
βMm?β He hummed.
βThe train doesnβt leave until, what, 11:00? I reckon Iβve got a while longer to sleep.β I said and turned over on my side. He quickly rolled me over and pulled me up by my shoulders. βGod, Frederick-β
βGod, Ivy, everyone else is already up. You havenβt packed, either. Get up! even Ginnyβs up, and you know how she is in the morning. Mumβs given her coffee." He said.
I looked over at Ginnyβs empty bed beside me.
βCoffee?β I scoffed. βAnd I thought molly would have known better.β I said while slowly standing up. βNow get out.β I shoved him lightly.
βOkay , βll leave, just make sure you donβt get straight back into bed, darling.β He teased.
βYou just expect the worst in me, donβt you?β I scoffed.
He grinned and shut the door behind him.

I finished getting dressed, threw on a couple swipes of makeup and grabbed my trunk.
I came down the steps in the Leaky Cauldron and saw the Weasley family plus Hermione and Harry sitting there.
βIvy, hey!β Hermione said as I sat down. She's always been quite perky and alive in the mornings, I would die to be like that. I can't wake up in the morning for the life of me.
βHi, Hermione. Excited for third year?β I asked, starting to eat.
βOh, yeah! Iβve taken loads of classes, Iβm really looking forward to it!β she explained, and I nodded.
βHermioneβs taking all twelve classes, I donβt bloody know how sheβs going to do it.β Ron said, looking at Hermione with a rather dazed expression.
βAll of the classes? Hermione, youβll be so overworked! youβd best drop a few. I know, in my third year, I was exhausted and I didn't take nearly that many classes.β I said.
βIβll be okay, Ivy, really.β Hermione said.
I already knew how stubborn Hermione was, so I knew she wouldn't budge at this. I rubbed her shoulder and went back to eating.
Only moments later, Molly said, βOkay everyone, time to get to the train! Is everyone ready?β

βBye, dear. Be safe this year. As for you too, boys.β Molly cupped my face in her hands and gave me a kiss on the forehead. She treated me like a daughter, something iβve never remembered feeling before. See, I reckon my parents left at such a young age I can't recall any time spent with them. Sucks for me.
βThank you, Molly.β I smiled and gave her a hug. βCome on, ron.β I said.
Ron came trotting over, along with Hermione and Harry. Those three were inseperable, I swear, Iβve never seen them without each other.
βOhh, boys, Iβll miss you so much!β Molly exclaimed and gave Ron, Fred, and George a giant hug. Harry and Hermione slightly snickered. βyou as well, Ginny, come here!β Molly said with a bright smile and wrapped her arms around the small girl.
βOh, come on, Mum.. the trainβs gonna leave!β Ginny groaned. I giggled and grabbed the arms of both twins.
βBye, molly! Weβll miss you!β I yelled over my shoulder as i dragged the two boys away, holding onto our trolleys tightly. I led them over to the brick pillars between platforms 9 and 10.
βSee you, boys!β I shouted, as i ran into the wall, shutting my eyes, and soon I felt myself enter platform nine and three quarters. I looked back to see Fred and George walk through the pillar, followed by Ron, Hermione, and Harry, of course.
βYou guys are slow.β I said and rolled my eyes at the two ginger twins approaching me.
They smirked. βOh, thatβs bullshit. You ran at full speed, what were we supposed to do, Ives?β George joked, slapping my shoulder playfully. I gave him a harsh scowl before heading up to the train.
Once weβd found a compartment with Lee Jordan, I sat down in-between Fred and George, Lee on the other side across from us. unconsciously, my head rolled to the side and onto Fredβs shoulder as the boys fell into a light conversation and i started to drift off.
