Chapter 1

โOh god, she's such a crybaby.โž

- past time

"Come on y/n! Come on! We're going to be late for school!" Angelita cried out waving her hands in the air as you grabbed your scarf wrapping it around your neck. You placed your red gloves over your hands watching your mother walk around the halls drunk again. You sighed rubbing your eyes quickly making your bed.

You tuck in the sheets grabbing your red backpack placing it over your shoulders. You zip up your hoodie grabbing the black coat. "COME ON Y/n!" Your best friend yelled jumping up and down as you scrunched your nose closing your window. You run down the straight wrapping the coat over your shoulders. Snow falls on the ground as your mother leaned against the door with a cigarette pressed firmly between her lips.

You wave goodbye to her as she turned the other way slamming the door shut. A frown prints onto your lips as Angelita grabbed your wrist. Your best friend. The girl with beautiful long black hair and ocean blue eyes. The girl everyone wanted to be. The societies standards of what little girls should look like.

"Hey, are you okay?" She asked as you sneezed rubbing your arms. "Yeah, I'm just hungry."

She sighed grabbing a oatmeal bar. "Here, I brought a few boxes of these." She said handing the breakfast bar towards you. "Thank you angelita." You said as she hummed unwrapping it. Your eyes connect with the white snow as you wished you looked like her.

However, your mother would never allow you to look like that. Well bathed, beautiful hair, nice clothes. No, why should she? Your just a mistake that should've been aborted. It was sad but true, the only reason you were alive had been because of your grandmother. She drilled into your mother's head that if she got an abortion she would go to hell.

You were beautiful, in people's eyes. But in yours you looked like a monster. Acne decorating your face. Burn marks against your arms and your hair in tangles. You wore the same clothes everyday. However, people saw you as beautiful. Because?

Your personality.

Your eyes scanned the road as you coughed. "Angelita. I-I don't feel so good." You sneezed as the girl grabbed a package of tissues. "Here, have some." She said handing you the pieces of soft paper. You blow them against your cold nose. "Ewww! Boogers." Angelita teased as the both of your bursted out into a fit of laughter. A car passed by as the both of you walk through the snow mountains.

You finally arrived at the elementary school with a loud yawn. "Well.. here goes nothing." You said as Angelita grabbed your hand. "Y/n, we're finally in fourth grade. Aren't you happy?" She asked as you shrugged your shoulders. "Every grade feels the same so far. I'm happy. But at the same time, I can't feel excited." You said clenching her hand as she gave you a soften look.

"Well, come on."

The both of you walked inside as you greeted your older friends. All of you exchanging hugs and small gifts. You placed your coat into the cubby doing the same with your scarf in gloves. You wore a black long sleeve with a pair of blue jeans which was the norm for you.

"Y-y-y/n."

You turned around arching a brow as a brown haired boy held a card in his hands. He shook violently as his friends chuckle in the background. "What's up danny?" You asked grabbing another tissue as he give you a nervous smile. "I..I made you something! P-please take this as a thank you for letting me use your pencil last year."

Angelita covered her mouth to hold her laughter as you give him a big smile. "Danny.. thank you!" You said grabbing the letter with the hello kitty pencil attached to it. "Kathy!" Angelita said running towards her giving the girl a big hug. "Orange!" You smiled joining the hug as she grimaced shoving the both of you off. "It's seven in the morning."

"And the first day of fourth grade!" Ms. Isabelle exclaimed approaching the podium. You giggle as all of you made your way to your seats. You were assigned to sit in seat four. Right next to Danny.

Class went smoothly with everyone getting into there circle groups sharing what they did in the summer. You didn't say a thing. You didn't go on any fancy trips. You stayed home and read the Bible and went to church with your grandmother. What a boring summer.

The bell rang suddenly as you stretched your arms with another yawn coming from your lips. "Lunch time was amazing! Rice and brown beans.. to taste the food again. Oh, hey! Y/n, want to come to the skating rink with us?" Danny asked as you shook you head with a small sigh. "I can't.. I'm sorry. I need to help my mom with something!" You said truthfully. Mom will be very mad if we're not home early.

You immediately grabbed all of your outer garments placing them on your body. You coughed harshly again while grabbing a couple crackers from snack time placing them in your pocket. You held your black coat hoodie over your head walking outside. Angelita had the glory of getting picked up everyday.

You sighed placing your hands in your pockets being careful to not slip in any ice. You hopped over the frozen puddle almost arriving at your house. A sudden loud bang was heard from the small alleyway next to you.

Your head snapped to the left as you stopped your walk. A small pale leg was seen as you gulped slowly walking towards the foot. Rain begins to pour down as you groaned. "W-who's there?!"

You gulped shaking your head noticing it had been a boy around your age. "I..I.." he couldn't finish his sentence.

"Hey, I-it's cold.. are you cold?" You asked noticing the bandages wrapped around his face. Your eyes connect with the knife on the ground as he pushed it to the side. You immediately take off your coat. "Here.. take this." You said handing it to him as he looked at the piece of clothing then you. "Take it.. please. It's freezing." You said placing your hoodie over your head. You removed your scarf wrapping it around his neck as he clenched the knife handle.

"I-I'm y/n." You said crouching down as he lets go of the weapon looking up at him. "I-issac." He said as you gave him a warm smile. "It's nice to meet you issac. Are you hungry?" You asked digging in your pocket handing him the pack of salted crackers. He takes them as you grabbed your backpack giving him the bottle of water.

"I-I need to go issac." You said noticing your mom beginning to look around for you. You begin to run as he reaches his hand out for you looking at the supplies you gave him. He held the pack of crackers closely to him. "I didn't say thank you."

Your mother grimaced seeing you completely freezing cold. "WHERE THE FUCK WERE YOU?!" She yelled at the top of her lungs as you gulped running inside of the house. She slammed the door close slapping your cheek causing you to fall against the ground.

"M-mom I'm sorry!"

"Where's your coat?! Your scarf?! Do you know how much money I spent on that shit!? Just to make sure your warm for school?!" She yelled slapping you once more. You grunted already beginning to feel the bruises form on your cheeks.

"I..I lost them."

You let out a scorching scream as she knocks down the ashes from her cigarette causing them to burn through your jeans and skin. You clenched the carpet feeling tears stain your eyes.

Issac can hear your screams through the broken windows as you curled up into a ball sobbing. "Stay here.. you disgraceful fucking brat!" She exclaimed running out of the house slamming the door closed. You looked blankly at the wall feeling the pain slowly subsiding.

Your heart beats slow against your chest hearing the clock move against the wall. Your eyes slowly fall a slave to sleep as you weren't aware that it would be the last time seeing your mother.

โ€”

"WHAT TYPE OF BASTARD HURTS THERE OWN DAUGHTER?!" The boy yelled at the top of his lungs repeatedly plunging his knife through your mother's chest. She died a long time ago. He was just enjoying feeling the blood stain your coat. He hid the scarf in his pocket as he removed the knife from her chest throwing the blood against the ground.

"I hate.. people like you." He said scratching his head dragging her body into the snow. He used a shovel from a random persons shed. He placed snow over the now dead body.

"Now, she's mine only."
