HE WAS A HERO, it was his job to keep anyone and everyone safe and sound. so protecting you was no different. he kept you close, with his wing hovering over you like a shield as you two walked back to your house.
keigo didn't hesitate to make a quick joke or two during your long walk, whatever got a small chuckle out made him smile. he added it to the ongoing list of things he'd learn to love on the way to staying with you. "you know," he started again, looking over at you from the corner of his eye. "flying to your place would be faster, how far did you even walk?"
you shrugged and placed your focus on your feet. "i took a train and just wandered around."
the explanation made him hum, pressing his lips together before letting them apart, making a soft popping sound. "then let me fly, you'll be safer in my arms than out on the street," he flashed a smile you'd call disgusting. flirting with the victim, no less than an hour later at best. in reality, he just wanted to show you he was goodโmight've been moving too fast but that's how he lived. too fast for his own good.
"im afraid of heights."
"then don't look down." he wrapped his arm around your waist and pulled you close, "just tell me where you live."
you told him as you got yourself ready for take-off; burying your face into his collar as your legs clutched around his torso. hawks kept his promise, flying as fast as he could and letting some of his feathers go to find your house. the ride was quiet for the most part, you could hear him let out small sighs and soft hums to tunes you've heard on the radio.
soon enough you made it to the front door, all in one cold piece. "thank you, for everything," you mumbled whilst struggling to unlock the door. keigo perked up and smiled, though you weren't looking at him. "it's no problem! it's my job to save cute girls like you."
it was a flattering compliment and again, you thanked him. finally, you managed to open up, shoving your key back into your pocket then turning to the blond. "do you want to come inside?"
"can't, patrol and all," he smiled, a pitiful one.
you kicked at the corner of the doorway as an idea slowly crept into your mind. "then how about we get something to eat? when you're off work."
he blushed at the gesture but agreed. "have a good sleep y/n, i'll be here in the morning."
"i'll be waiting."
you sighed as the air hit you, letting tiny goosebumps form on your arms and legs. you hated leaving the warm shower, but you also had to sleep at some point and the shower was made out for that. the lights went out and you threw the towel over the door to dry.
"i missed you," you mumbled as you climbed into bed. balling the covers over your body and letting yourself relax in the new found warmth. slowly you could feel your eyes become heavy, but the sense of somebody watching you filled the room.
