Was it Worth It Naruto?

“Kakashi-Sensei-”

“I did it...”

“I brought him back.”

“I brought him back...”

==============================

Kakashi jumped down from his perch, watching as Naruto collapsed from exhaustion. He was carrying an unconscious Sasuke, Naruto had the most injuries. He could tell just from looking at them both that Naruto tried not to hurt him in the process of getting him back.

“Naruto,” Kakashi went up to the unconscious boys, “You brought him back. Thank you.”

==============================

Sakura ran through the hospital’s front door, startling the attendant.

“What room is Sasuke-kun in?” she loudly asked,

“In the room down the hall, to the left.”

Sakura didn’t even respond and rushed down the hallway, busting into the room. She expected to see Kakashi sitting next to Sasuke, waiting for him to wake up. Instead, he was helping naruto stand, which made her angry. Why was he helping that monster? That monster hurt HER Sasuke. A part of her knew that he had to, Sasuke was stubborn. If he wanted to leave, he would do almost anything to do that. If he couldn’t be swayed to come back, he would have to do so by force. However, she was blinded by her anger, she decided it was all Naruto’s fault that Sasuke was hurt. She didn’t even care that compared to Naruto, Sasuke barely even had a scratch. She wouldn’t even consider that, that her precious Sasuke was in the wrong.

“Naruto! What the hell is wrong with you! You hurt Sasuke-Kun!” Sakura screeched. Rushing over to Naruto, almost too quick for Kakashi, she reached out to push him down. Being stopped by Kakashi made her even angrier, why is he protecting that “Demon!”

That made them both stop in their tracks, and Sasuke wake up. He pretended to still be sleeping though, he knew that his presence would only make the situation worse. Kakashi was more than disappointed at this point. This was how she truly felt, even if she was to play it off. She always hated Naruto, she never cared to see how he felt, never.

And the one this hurt the most was Naruto, the one who got hurt, took all the insults, was mentally abused all his life, who just wanted a friend at the end of the day, was being insulted for bringing back their precious Uchiha. “Are you happy now Sakura? I brought him back. I brought him back because I thought you would grateful, happy even. I brought him back.” Naruto said to her with tears in his eyes.

“You brought him back unconscious and hurt! You’re a monster! You don’t deserve to be here!” Sakura screeched, ignoring Naruto’s tears, completely ignoring how hurt he was. She was completely oblivious to the fact that she was making a fool of herself in front of Sasuke. He was awake and heard everything, every hurtful word, every insult, and Kakashi knew. He didn’t say anything, he needed Sasuke to hear this. Hear what he caused, what Sakura caused. Kakashi knew better, he knew that this would end up hurting the village. But he couldn’t care less, Konoha was a terrible place, they couldn’t see that they hated a child for something he didn’t do. Blinded by hate and rage, they isolated a child.

Naruto couldn’t take it anymore, he couldn’t stay in this room. He ran out of the room, out of the hospital, and into the street. He didn’t care about his injuries, he just wanted to be out of the place. He felt like he was suffocating, it was so painful. Back at the hospital, Kakashi was left with his student, and she was crying.

“Why are you crying? You have no reason to, what? Are you feeling guilty for what you said? You should.” And with that, he left her, alone in that room. Only a crying Sakura and a disgusted Sasuke.

==============================

Naruto was walking down the road, he didn’t know where. He was in pain, both psychically and mentally. Most of all, he was tired. Kurama was trying his best to heal him, he was saying soothing words to him. He just wanted the boy to stop hurting, even if for a second. “Naruto Uzumaki.” It was an ANBU.

He was too tired to say anything back, so he just looked in his direction. “You are under arrest for the violence against the last Uchiha. I’m sorry.” The ANBU said to him, in fact, he was actually sorry for the boy. Unlike all the others, he knew that it wasn’t his fault. He grabbed Naruto by his arm and dragged him to the Hokage’s office before he could protest.

==============================

“Baa-Chan, why are you doing this? I brought him back for you all, isn’t that what you all wanted?” Naruto said, already crying. He just wanted to rest, he was so tired.

“Naruto, I’m so sorry. Please forgive me someday...” Tsunade whispered to Naruto, causing him to shake. What was happening, what were they going to do?

“Uzumaki Naruto, we voted to banish you from the village. You will never be able to return here.” Koharu, one of the council members, announced. “Please stop...you’re scaring me, please tell me you’re not serious. I brought him back for you, I didn’t do anything wrong.” Naruto pleaded, breaking down in sobs.

Danzo looked at the boy, “It’s already been settled. The demon will be banished, ANBU, throw him out.”

Tsunade went over to him, carefully taking off his hitai-ate, so she wouldn’t hurt the wound on his head. “I’m sorry, I wish I could’ve stopped them. One day, I’ll bring you back Naruto, I promise.”

Naruto sobbed louder, she still cared for him, for once in his life someone actually cared. That moment was cut short as he was dragged off.

==============================

Once they were outside the village, they threw him down. He couldn’t take anymore.

The perfect target.

“Ku ku ku...”
