Full Book Description
Captivity is all Rayne has ever known. Kidnapped from a young age; her homeland destroyed. She is a revenant, rare and powerful; her blood is even rarer. Its properties healing and its power addictive. Ironic she will need the blood of others to survive after her 18th year.
Kindness only came from seven boys. The seven taught Rayne what family felt like and how it felt to care. Each of the seven had abilities just as rare and powerful as those enslaved them wanted to use.
When the time came to escape, the eight took a chance, fighting their way to freedom until their plan was near foiled. To let her saviors gain the freedom they fought for, Rayne sacrificed herself.
The boys’ abilities held fresh in her mind, memories of them fighting to get to her until they realized it was useless. Tears on their faces with looks of determination as their leader spoke silently to her. “We will find you. We promise Rayne. Stay alive.” The memories of his blue flames shielding their escape remain strong, as does their promise.
10 years have passed, and Rayne nears her 18th birthday. She has endured any and everything that came her way, staying alive as promised and not giving up on the seven’s promise to find her no matter how hard it got.
Rayne kept to her Revenant nature the best she could as the leader of the seven always reminded her she needed to do; “Protect your heart Raynie. Don’t kill unless you must. Trust your nature to protect others. You are good; don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.”
Rayne’s New Master leads her through the city as a sign of power; they come across a troupe of Traveling performers who take notice instantly of Rayne.
When they meet with Rayne’s Master, offer a price, and are denied, they warn he will come to regret his decision.
Why has the troupe taken such an interest in Rayne, and why are they adamant about having her? Rayne is intrigued by the men and the leader’s familiar flames. Just who are they?
