AFTER THE EVENTS

that occurred, arisu and her family moved to miyagi to start anew. they figured that the broken girl needed a fresh start. and since she insisted that she should still be able to use her powers, they decided they would heavily monitor her rather than find the cause of them.

arisu was able to convince them with, "i was born with these powers, which means they're a gift aren't they? they were given to me for a reason", or some meaningless bullshit. of course, they were under the spell throughout that whole conversation. one would think her family would grow to be immune to her brainwashing, however the opposite was true. they were the most susceptible to it.

nevertheless she got to live her life as she did previously, just at a different school. funny how someone who caused such destruction got away with it scot-free.

the school arisu's parents enrolled her in was karasuno high school, since it was the closest to their house. she didn't know much about it, but heard it perhaps once or twice from kuroo. he referred to them as the 'fallen crows', and explained the reason behind the name. she was relieved because in her mind, going to karasuno gave her a connection back to kuroo. her logic was that if she became the manager for the boys volleyball club, then she would be able to see him again. the odds of the two teams having matches against each other were 50/50, especially since the schools sort of lost their spark. although, she was willing to take that chance.

besides, none of the other clubs seemed to entice her, other than the music club perhaps. but at the same time, the thought of seeing kuroo at a training camp was too good of an opportunity to pass. she needed a second chance with him, so she could prove that she wasn't the piece of garbage she knew she was.

to do that, arisu needed a new personality. a new persona to convince everyone that she's changed. rather being a delinquent, she needed to be someone that people admired. that way kuroo would forgive her, and the people at her new school wouldn't suspect anything of her. but who would she become?

that's right. she needed to become like her ex-best friend. runa minami. the angel of nekoma herself. luckily, arisu had spent a little over a year with the girl which made her knowledgable of her behavior. she knew exactly how to act like her.

she was grateful that growing up in a well-off family gave her an extensive wardrobe, in which she found cutesy enough clothing to play the part. she also figured that she could find some makeup tutorial online to make her appear 'innocent'.

combined with that and her already existing powers, the odds were in her favor. she just couldn't fuck it up as she did before.

yes, as long as she did it all without flaw, everything would happen accordingly.

a few days past, and arisu had gotten the technicalities situated. she would be in class 2-5 and was set on joining the boys volleyball club as a manager. according to the club advisor, they had already found someone a while back but didn't mind the extra help. arisu happily thanked him (his name was takeda ittetsu, from what she could recall).

as for her newborn personality, the transition was successful in her opinion. no one seemed to deem it as fake, and went as far as to call her an 'angel child'. her parents, who knew her true nature, just smiled and nodded. they didn't want to deal with another expulsion or get sued.

"i'm sure your daughter will do great here! she's such a sweetheart, she'll fit in perfectly fine!" her homeroom teacher gleefully exclaimed. "no need to worry!"

"yes, she's always been like this" her mom responded, lying through her teeth.

right. a sweetheart. that was the first time she had ever been referred to as such. usually, arisu would have been dubbed as 'a monster' and others along similar meanings. not that she minded. they were quite accurate anyways. however, a praise felt gratifying.

although, that gratification only increased as she glanced into the mirror.

her petite feet were clad in black flats, with matching stockings that went up to her knees. as for the uniform, a navy blue skirt, long sleeved polo shirt, and ivory vest clothed her figure. a maroon ribbon embellished the top. her mahogany curls were bound in two pigtails, her bangs let free.

her thin lips stretched up into a nauseatingly sweet smile as her orbs raked over her guise. arisu tried to rehearse how she would greet others.

"hi! i'm sasaki arisu, i hope we can become good friends!" a giggle escaped her throat, as she paused. "charming? me? oh, i've always been like this! oh, you're too kind"

with her veneer perfectly illustrating the image she wanted to set for herself, angelic and cherubic, smugness proceeded to cake her face.

"she's perfect"

soon enough, she had to head off to school. she transferred in about a couple months into the year, and had to adapt quickly. it shouldn't be hard, she thought. if people like me enough, they should help me adjust. plus, my teachers already like me. they should be more than willing to help.

"ARIS- fucking shit" sasaki ayame screeched as her younger sister left the house with $20 from her wallet. "give me back my money, you demon child! you could have just asked instead of pulling your siren shit!"

low chuckles erupted from arisu. "sorry sis, it's more fun this way"

ayame felt as if she wanted to slam her head against a rock hard surface. which she would have done, if not the chance of getting concussed. truthfully, arisu still held a special place in her heart, as fed up with her as she was. the older raised her since young while their parents were absent, so she experienced arisu's innocent years firsthand.

unsurprisingly, arisu was quite an innocent youth. but as her siren abilities grew stronger, so did her selfishness. her once pure soul turned into one of a self-serving dictator. oh, how ayame wished those days of peace lasted forever. how much more of the brainwashing she could handle?

as arisu turned to head to school, her ears caught a faint sigh from ayame.

"you know, you should really stop doing this. one day you're going to get caught into trouble because of your shenanigans, and no one is going to help you. with the amount of enemies you would make, you won't have anyone to depend on. even mom and dad are sick of your crap"

her simplistic yet impactful words made arisu stop, though she still faced away. "i can make them help me. did you forget? i can lie. i'm really good at that"

ayame's eyes darkened. "at one point, you'll be too caught up in your lies and slip up. what then? accept defeat? or continue with the lies?"

"co-"

"please"

when arisu heard her sister plead, she turned around. the sight of ayame with a heartbroken face almost made her rethink her ways. almost.

"you're only hurting yourself this way. you need to-" ayame, who was getting emotional too soon, checked her watch. "fuck, it's too early for this. just go to school, and try not to cause too much trouble. please"

as much as arisu wanted to embrace her, she held back. her fatal flaw was stubbornness after all. "i can handle myself"

with that, she continued on her path to karasuno. ayame was left at the doorstep, as her bittersweet tears fell onto the concrete.

arisu skipped on her way and made sure to send a smile at those she passed by, who willingly returned the gesture. some even stared at her and made seemingly positive comments to their friends.

"wow, she's adorable!" a girl told the guy walking with her.

"more than me?"

"yeah..."

"but i'm your boyfriend!"

"eh, i like girls more anyways"

"hey!"

"kidding, haha"

that wholesome interaction warmed arisu's heart, not that she would ever acknowledge nor admit it.

and eventually, she arrived at the front gates of karasuno.

students filed into the building in their separate groups, although not before noticing the new girl bounding her way through the crowd. her pigtails bounced as she threw smiles at everyone who gawked at her. truly, she appeared to be gliding her way through the mass of people, her walk getting lighter and lighter with each step.

new students didn't come so often at karasuno, so someone transferring so suddenly was quite a shocker.

"who's that?" a green haired first year noted when he saw everyone eyeballing an unfamiliar girl.

"probably a new student" his blonde best friend mockingly snickered. the sight of hormonal teenagers scrambling around to catch a glimpse of the girl was quite amusing to him."if this is so exciting for them, they must live boring lives"

yamaguchi laughed in response. "right? although, she is pretty so that must be why everyone's so captivated"

"pretty faces don't always equal a good personality"

tsukishima didn't know how right he was at the time.

"sure, but why does that matter?" yamaguchi asked, not understanding tsukishima's motive. "she seems nice"

"maybe it does, maybe it doesn't. i'm just saying, something about her feels off" tsukishima stated in a cryptic way. "but whatever. if she's not involved with me, then it doesn't matter"

yamaguchi tilted his head, still confused.

"ooh! pretty girl!"

"hey! i call dibs"

"noya-san, we have to be loyal to kiyoko"

"right, right"

"i guess a pretty face is what matters to them though" yamaguchi joked. before tsukishima could respond, the two second year simps overheard.

"yamaguchi! tsukishima! you little shits-"

"are you sasaki arisu?" arisu nodded. "alright. so your class should be at the end, just walk down the hallway until you find it. good luck on your first day!"

"thank you!"

instead of walking directly into the classroom, arisu headed to the girls restroom. she needed to touch up on her makeup before class started.

she wasn't wearing too much in the first place, but she didn't have the opportunity to finish while she was home. she swiftly outlined her eyes with a gel eyeliner, and brushed on some mascara for a finishing touch. her skin was already clear, so not much had to be done there.

arisu posed a bit in front of the mirror, feeling quite pleased with how she looked.

she then picked up her phone to check the time, only to notice that it was seven minutes after class started. however, she didn't mind. in fact, being late was preferable. in all honesty, she preferred to have a dramatic entrance by being late.

which she did. arisu burst through the gray door of class 2-5, an apologetic smile adorning her attractive features.

"that must be the new student people are talking about"

"she's pretty"

"no shit"

"you're the new student?" the teacher asked rather rhetorically. "i'll let you off the hook this time since it's your first day. go sit in the back next to mikoshiba" she turned to arisu and whispered. "he has red hair"

"red hair. got it"

it wasn't difficult to spot mikoshiba. considering the fact that his hair was red.

once she sat down, arisu was met with a flirty wink.

"hey, i'm mikoshiba mikoto. i'll be happy to show you around if you want" he smoothly suggested. "and if you want, you can eat lunch with me if you feel lonely"

she stared blankly at him and nodded, not paying much mind to his advances. mikoshiba who, contrary to popular belief, didn't handle flirting so well, then blushed and covered his mouth with his palm.

"w-why aren't you responding? say s-something!"

"oh!" she looked up, and gave him an eye smile. "thanks for the offer then!"

mikoshiba's face flushed to a greater extent. his heart could only handle so much, especially after yet another failed flirting attempt. "o-of course"

the conversation winded down, and both students turned front to listen to the lecture.

"mikoshib- woah!"

as arisu was packing her bag for lunch, she heard a rather obnoxious (in her opinion) voice yell out for mikoshiba. when she spun around, she saw the red head walk towards a much shorter male with brown hair and a tuft of blonde. the latter had seemed to freeze at the sight of arisu.

"noya? what are you doing here?"

this 'noya' pulled mikoshiba down and whispered incoherent sentences, from which arisu could only catch, "new girl" and "i'm going to kill you".

arisu internally rolled her eyes. gee, wonder what they're talking about, she sarcastically thought.

"hey! new girl!" noya called out. "want to have lunch with us?"

she pondered for a moment to weigh her options. on one hand, she preferred to limit her social interaction when unnecessary, since she wasn't well versed with making friends. her reclusive tendencies were only expected due to her nature. however, she knew that having many friends would be better for her image. therefore she agreed to sit with them for lunch, and followed the enthusiastic boys to noya's classroom.

"noy- PRETTY GIRL?!" a bald boy screeched once he spotted arisu. he had recognized her from previously that morning but wasn't informed of her name, so referred to her as 'pretty girl'. though in his eyes, kiyoko's looks were far superior, arisu was a near second.

fucking simps, arisu thought. to be quite frank, people fawning over her was rather tiresome and she didn't notice how irritating it would be until that morning. the compliments were flattering sure, but she felt as if she couldn't breathe. it made her ponder over how runa dealt with the attention.

the bald boy sat at a table surrounded by a three other guys, who all gazed at arisu with a slightly shocked expression. they weren't expecting to have someone new join them for lunch, especially not such an attractive girl. seeing as club consisted of a group of volleyball-crazed losers, girls didn't approach them often.

"guys, meet sasaki arisu! she's a new student in my class, so i decided to invite her to have lunch with us. hope that's okay?" mikoshiba introduced, pointing to the aforementioned female with eyes that screamed 'please say yes'. although, how could they decline?

so they nodded, and made room for her. arisu gracefully sat down in between a male with spiky, light brown hair, and one with sleepy eyes and dark brown hair.

arisu mentally smirked once again, for it was time to put on her sweet facade.

"hey guys! it's nice to meet you!"
