The team blamed themselves.
They never realized till it was too late. Kenma dropped weight fast, but everyone thought it was because of his high metabolism. Not once did they think it was because he wasn't getting enough nutrition. The volleyball was being pulled down by gravity, directly above Kenma. He stood in position to set for Kuroo, but his whole vision turned black before he could. Blood ran colder than it already was.
His body swayed until it collapsed onto the ground, a thud following after. The ball hit the ground beside him and bounced away from the court. Everyone was still trying to figure everything out, but Kuroo ran towards his friend.
"KENMA!" he yelled in fear. He got on his knees and tried shaking Kenma. No response. The team started circling the boy. Even the members of Karasuno. Kuroo placed his hand on Kenma's head; instant coldness spread to Kuroo. "SOMEONE GET AN AMBULANCE!"
The coach did just that, it wasn't to long till the first responders arrived. They brought out a stretcher and Kuroo picked up Kenma, walking with him outside to the ambulance, and placed him down. The first responders strapped him in got the stretcher into the ambulance. Everyone was still frozen. What are you suppose to say when something like this happens out of no where.
"I'm going with him," Kuroo stated with his head low. He climb into the ambulance and stared down at Kenma. No one tried holding him back, they all knew the bond they had. The grief that Kuroo felt was worse than the others, Kenma wasn't only his friend, they are practically brothers. The doors closed, and the ambulance drove away in a rush.
Kuroo held his head in the palm of his hands, saying silent begs for Kenma to be okay. He battle himself to not break but the tears started ushering out of his eyes. He broke down from seeing Kenma this way. He broke down for not realizing.
"I'm s-sorry." Kuroo spoke.
