MIZU NO HASHIRA

It was a dark moonless night when the young jujutsu sorcerer, Fushiguro Megumi wandered around the Miyashiro Prefecture Sugisawa Third High school.

“They’re keeping a cursed object here - in a place like this,” he scoffed to himself as he stared at the box of Stevenson’s screen in front of him. “Honestly they couldn’t be anymore stupid.”

He was little taken aback when he opened the door and found it empty. After thoroughly searching the entire area and coming empty handed he decided to call his mentor.

“There’s nothing here,” he said as soon as his mentor picked up his phone.

“The Stevenson’s screen - its empty,” Fushiguro clarified further.

“For real? That’s hilarious! Maybe it took a nighttime stroll,” his mentor teased him.

“I’ll punch you,“′ Fushiguro said but his mentor instantly cut him off, completely ignoring what the young boy had said.

“Well, no going home until its recovered?”
With that being said, his mentor swiftly cut off the call, leaving no room for any further arguments.

“I’m seriously going to punch him next time,” Fushiguro mumbled to himself as he thought about his mentor.

“What are you doing here?” An unfamiliar feminine voice suddenly spoke up from behind him - startling him a little.

He swiftly turned around and saw a young girl, no older than fifteen, and barely reaching a height of 5 feet, staring back at him with a pair of curious (e/c) colored eyes, which seemed to be glowing in the dark of the night.

“What are you doing here?” The girl repeated her question again when she didn’t received an answer from him.

“I’m - I.....” Fushiguro fumbled with his words, unable to come up with an appropriate answer.

“You know - you don’t have to lie to me,” she simply stated as she smiled at him cheerfully.

“Sorcerer,” she then simply added which caused the male’s head to whip in her direction in lighting speed, momentarily scaring the girl because she thought that he might have dislocated his neck or something.

“Hey! Are you okay? I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean to startle you,” the girl quickly apologized on seeing his alarmed self.

“It’s fine,” Fushiguro replied with his usual stoic face. “But what I’m surprised about is that you somehow seem to know about sorcerers and yet I don’t feel any cursed energy inside you. You almost see normal at first glance.”

“Oh! About that....” the girl trailed off as a look of real dawned upon her face. “I’m just very good at concealing my presence.”

“So....who are you? And what are you doing here?” The girl once again repeated her previous question.

Fushiguro gave out a tired sigh as he decided to finally comply with this girl’s wishes.

“I’m Fushiguro Megumi, a first year from Jujutsu tech. Now tell me - who are you?”

“I’m Tomioka Y/n.”

Fushiguro’s gaped out in surprise when he heard this, unable to hide his emotions for a moment.

“Are you perhaps, from the great Tomioka clan?” He hurriedly asked, hardly able to conceal the excitement in his voice.

“Yeah,” the girl agreed as she gave him a nervous smile. “How do you know?”

“Well...you’re family is kinda a big deal in the sorcerer’s community? I mean Tomioka Giyu made quite a name for himself in the Taisho era.”

“Well there is no denying that,” she said bashfully, “but that still doesn’t explain why you’re here?”

“I’m here on a mission, ” he started and the (e/c) color eyed girl continued staring at him, as if urging him to continue speaking without even opening her mouth. He let out that last bit of information without even realizing it. It was as if his body was reacting without his permission, as if it was being controlled by some outward force.

‘A curse perhaps?’ He begrudgingly thought to himself as he answered her question.

“I’m here to retrieve a special grade cursed object.”

Fushiguro’s eyes widened in surprise when he realized what had just happened, while Y/n just sweetly smiled at him, but there was something eerie and dangerous behind that sweet smile of hers.

“I see,” the girl said thoughtfully to herself as a grim look covered her beautiful features.

Fushiguro blinked his eyes in disbelief when he saw that the frown on her face disappeared as soon as it appeared, and was then replaced by a bright smile.

“Well, I will leave it to you then young sorcerer,” she said while swiftly turning around to leave before suddenly halting in her steps.

“Ano...Fushiguro-kun?” She hesitantly called him out and he nodded his head in acknowledgment.

“You might wanna check out the rugby field,” she discreetly suggested him. “Lately, there has been an increase in curse sightings there.”

“Really?” The black haired male asked and Y/n just nodded her head in response before eventually taking her leave.

‘What a strange girl?’ Fushiguro thought to himself as he stared at her retreating figure.

I’m back with another story guys. I recently started watching Jujutsu Kaisen and honestly, I completely fell in love with the characters in first glance, and therefore I decided to make a fanfiction about it.
