Neville had only stayed in the hospital wing a little bit longer that day and though he was still recovering after all classes were finally over, he was able to make it to dinner with a perfectly healed wrist.

After Neville had returned and classes got more interesting, Eloise seemed to enjoy spending time with her new friends a lot more. Herbology quickly became the class that Eloise and Neville seemed to bond over the most, Eloise was very good at the class as she had spent loads of time at her own house studying the nearby plants and drawing them. Eloise loved how enthusiastic Neville was when he talked about plants as he was usually very quiet in their other classes. Professor Sprout quickly became one of Eloise's favorite teachers as well. Eloise had asked many times to study with the Professor for extra credit even though she didn't need to, she just loved learning anything and everything about plants and the greenhouses themselves seemed to call to her.

She had also started doing something she didn't think she would worry about. Everytime she knew of a night of a full moon, she worried about her father. He hadn't forgotten to take a wolfsbane potion when she was around because he was always quite insecure about being a werewolf and he had never wanted to scare her. She had become quite good in her astrology class as well, which helped her when it came to remembering the nights of full moons. She never really thought she'd worry about her father as much as she did now but now that she was always away from him, it was different.

As October came around and the weather got colder, everyone really got more settled in at Hogwarts. Eloise had become a lot closer to Agnes as well. She had learned that Agnes was a muggleborn witch to Yvonne Yuen and Thomas Yuen, her mother was a teacher at a primary school and her father was a music teacher at a secondary school. Agnes had told Eloise that her parents where very confused in the beginning which makes a lot of sense for someone who had never thought that witches or wizards actually existed but they were very excited after to learn that Agnes was special and would become a brilliant witch. Agnes had told her all about her siblings as well though they were muggles. She was the oldest of three children, a girl named Irene who was 8 years old and a boy named Eugene who was 5 years old. Agnes talked very highly of her siblings making Eloise wish sometimes that she wasn't an only child.

Around mid-October, teachers had gotten more familiar with their students and more classwork was being given out. Eloise stayed on top of her homework quite well, helping Neville and Seamus occasionally with potions. The one class that she did like though was Charms. She enjoyed Professor Flitwick and was quite good at remembering spells and their wand movements.

"One of the wizard's most rudimentary skills is levitation or the ability to make objects fly," Professor Flitwick started. Eloise sat quietly beside Neville and Dean, watching their professor intently. "Do you all have your feathers?" Eloise looked down in front of her where a rather large white feather layed on the table, untouched. Hermione lifted her's up to show the professor. "Good, now don't forget the nice wrist movement we've been practicing, the swish and flick." Professor Flitwick demonstrated with his own wand. "Everyone," All the students picked up their wands from the tables if they weren't already holding them. "Swish and flick," Professor Flitwick had all the students say in unison. "Good, and enunciate 'Wingardium Leviosa', off you go then,"

Eloise turned down to her feather and started practicing the spell. She found it quite hard as she couldn't do it the first time but she kept telling herself to just try her best and to keep going. Eloise heard Ron and Hermione bickering in front of her but decided to try to ignore them until Hermione successfully used the Wingardium Leviosa spell, making her feather levitate quite far off of the table and float in the air.

"Well done! See here everyone, Miss Granger's done it! Splendid," Professor Flitwick exclaimed happily. Although she somewhat wished that she would have been the first one to successfully perform the Wingardium Leviosa spell, Hermione's successful performance gave her a lot of motivation to continue her practicing. Apparently it had inspired Seamus a bit as well as he repeatedly tried to perform the spell on his own feather. However, it had not turned out successfully for he had somehow blown up his feather and blown off his eyebrows.

Eloise giggled a bit at her friend before covering her mouth and trying to hide her laughter.

As Halloween finally arrived, the feast seemed even more delicious than usual, but to be fair, after everyone had eaten their fill of real food, the tables cleared themselves and suddenly filled with bowls of sweets such as lollipops, pumpkin pasties, chocolate wands, and Burtie Botts Every Flavour Beans.

Eloise sat next to Harry and Neville, enjoying her dinner and dessert as she chatted with her friends. "Hey Eloise," Harry said to Eloise, tapping on her shoulder. Eloise turned to face the boy with a smile. " Where's Hermione?" "Oh," Eloise started, the smile somewhat disappearing. "She's been in the bathroom practically the whole day, crying. Pavarti, Lavender, and I tried to convince her to come with us to the feast but she insisted she stay." Eloise finished, turning back to Neville, Dean, and Seamus.

Eloise was eating a pumpkin pastie when their Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher, Professor Quirrell came sprinting into the great hall, his turban askew and a look of terror written across his face. Everyone stared at the man as he reached Professor Dumbledore's chair and slumped against the table. "Troll- in the dungeon- thought you ought to know." The professor gasped before fainting onto the floor. There was an uproar in the great hall, and for good reason. A mountain troll had escaped from the dungeons and was wandering around the school. Eloise felt herself get overwhelmingly nervous as she stood up from her seat. Suddenly bright purple sparks flew from Professor Dumbledor's wand, calling everyone's attention to him and silencing the crowd.

"Prefects," he rumbled, "lead your houses back to the dormitories immediately!"

Percy seemed to be absolutely in his element as he instructed the Gryffindors back to the common room. Eloise suddenly grabbed Neville's hand as the students followed Percy hurriedly out of the great hall, Dean and Seamus following quickly behind them.

Eloise walked closely behind Percy, feeling like the closer she was to him, the safer she would be. Though of course, Percy could never stand up to a mountain troll alone with a bunch of first years behind him. The rest of the school seemed to be on edge, students hurridly following behind their house prefects and muttering nervously to each other.

As soon as everyone made their way into the Gryffindor common room, Eloise flopped down on the couch with a sigh, Neville still in hand. "Oh," She said, letting go of Neville's hand as he sat next to her. "Sorry.." Eloise's face turned red as she turned to see Seamus and Dean smiling at her. She stuck her tounge out at them before picking up deck of cards that sat on the coffee table in front of the roaring fireplace.

"Shall we play some Exploding Snap until this is all over?" Eloise suggested trying to lighten the tension among the four Gryffindors that sat in front of the fire.
