Chapter 11

"Sunsets are proof that endings
can be beautiful too"
____

Once Lena was dressed she headed out of the common room and to her surprise, Draco was stood just outside, leaning against a wall. Once he saw her he pushed himself up and they caught eyes. For a moment they looked at each other. He wore a black suit with a black turtle neck. Lena couldn't take her eyes away but she forced her self too.

"Still wanna go," he asked her.

"Yes," she replied, her cheeks blushing.

"Cool" Draco replied simply but that didn't hide the fact that he has been looking forward to this since he offered and she said yes.

They walked to Hogsmeade while talking. It was cold it was quite warm with chirps of birds and a blue sky and clouds flying high. Once they arrived they went to The Three Broomsticks. They sat at a table nearer the back.

"What would you like," Draco asked.

"Um, whatever you're having" Lena replied.

Lena watched as Draco ordered the drinks. She couldn't help but notice he always had this era to him. He seemed to not care and always held his head high, but Lena saw differently. She could tell he was more than an obnoxious, he had a story of his own. A dark one. She couldn't help but be attracted to him.

It's obvious that Draco is attractive. He has messy blonde hair, no longer slicked back like the first year's. Crystal blue eyes that held a hint of darkness in them. Defined cheekbones and jawline. She bit her lips as she thought about him, admiring all his features.

She was caught out of her thoughts as he turned around, walking back towards her with two cups in his hand.

"You like butterbear, right?"

"Yes I do," she said "thank you"

She took a sip of her drink and then placed it back on the table.

"Are you going to the ball" he questioned her.

"If I'm being honest, I don't want to but we have to" she replied

"It's bullshit. I'd rather not go too" he said "but at least you'll be there"

Lena looked up and they caught eyes once again.

"Maybe it won't be as bad we think," she said as she took another sip of her Butterbear.

"No, maybe it won't" Draco smiled as he took a sip of his Butterbear.

____

The rest of the day went by quickly. They git to know one another a lot more than before. Draco thought he knew her pretty well but he soon discovered that there was so much to her. He also learned that the pain she is feeling is what's causing her to be different from how she used to be. He doesn't know the girl she once was he intends on finding her again. All he wants is for her to be happy. He hates seeing her like this. So sad. So lost.

He will push all of his problems away just to help her be happy, even if he hasn't found happiness yet.

Lena got to see that there was more to Draco. She already knew that but Lena didn't know that he had reasons behind his actions. She doesn't know what reasons just get but she hopes that one she will know.

"Are we getting another" Lena questioned as they finished their third Butterbear.

"No" he replied "I want to show you something"

Draco stood up, putting his jacket back on. Lena stood, a little confused as to what he wanted to show but she agreed. They walked out of The Three Broomsticks and back into the street.

Lena could see the sun setting ahead and the other way she saw Hogwarts. Draco walked the other direction to Hogwarts. Not going back yet.

"Where are you taking me" Lena questioned.

"You'll see" he replied.

They walked towards the mountainside which had woodlands up it. There where old stone brick steps leading to the top. Draco stopped for a moment.

"Quick, before we miss it," Draco said before he started waking up them at a hasty speed.

"Miss what?" Lena asked but he was already ahead of her. She quickly followed him. Almost running up the stairs and occasionally missing a few steps. She finally could see where the stairs ended and relief filled through her body.

She walked up and what she saw amazed her. Her eyes widened in beauty.

"Oh-" she mumbled "Woah"

Draco was stood looking over the mountain. A beautiful pink and yellow tinge spread through the sky. The slanting rays of the setting sun gave a bright orange tinge to everything around. There wasn't part of the sky that hadn't a colour to it. Draco stood looking, almost like a silhouette.

He turned once Lena began walking closer to him, she was still admiring the beautiful sky. This is what Lena lives for. The beauty of the earth is what she used to think overcome all the pain and suffering of the world. She forgot that for a while but Draco has just reminded her that the light can be seen in the most darkest times. It's like all her problems have disappeared. It's just her, the sunset and Draco.

"This is the most beautiful thing I've seen in a long time" Lena finally spoke in a soft voice.

"I can say the same" Draco said as he looked at Lena who still looked up at the sky.

Both of them admiring beautiful things. Nothing could compare to the beauty they both saw in that moment.

"This place- how didn't I know about it" she looked at Draco as she questioned him.

"No one does," he said "I found it during 5th year, I told no one about it and I used it as my escape for a while. You're the first person I've shown it too"

"Really? I feel honoured" Lena replied as they laughed.

They didn't leave that spot until the sun was completely set. Until there was no light and only darkness in the sky. They finally decided to walk back to the castle after a while. They missed dinner but neither of them cared. It was worth it.
