Fairy Tail X Soul Eater Crossover

By Ruth Dempsey

Adventure / Fantasy

Chapter 1

“As you all know after our peace discussions with the witches it was decided that special covens, similar to Shibusen, would be set up around the world where witches can gather to live, work and learn without the need to hide in fear of discrimination. A system has been set up where these witches can accept job requests sent to their coven by customers for rewards. I have received several reports of witches disturbing the peace in the west. We don’t have all the details yet but apparently some of these covens have turned dark and many of their jobs have led to property damage and civilian injuries. Several dark covens have been identified by the magic council and those of you qualified for combat shall be sent in teams to each coven to uncover any criminal intent and interfere appropriately. Our most advance team shall be dispatched to what we have be informed is the most dangerous coven, ‘Fairy Tail’.”

As the entire student body made up of trainee weapons and meisters applauded, the newly anointed Lord Death let out a sigh. It was at times like this that he missed his father most. He always knew how to make people smile no matter what the situation involved and the students genuinely enjoyed his speeches but as the young shinigami exited the stage he swore he saw relief on the pupils faces. A young girl down the back even cheered. She had shaved half her head during the summer break. At least that was enough to bring a brief smirk to his face as he realised just how far he had really come. Just a short time ago that asymmetrical hairstyle would have been enough to send him into a short spiral of madness and depression that his weapons/friends, Liz and Patty Thompson, would have to rescue him from.

“You okay Kidd?” the white haired boy gave him an encouraging, sharp toothed smile, “You did great up there.”

“Yes I’m fine thanks,” he said as he removed the skull shaped mask from his face, “How are the preparations for our trip to Magnolia coming along?”

“Yeah about that, do you really think I should be tagging along? I mean witches aren’t exactly a big fan of death scythes ya know?”

“Soul we’ve been through this as the last death scythe you are a symbol of peace between witches an-”“And it helps that no one liked that Arachne bitch anyway. Though of course even as a death scythe you’re still no match for the great Back Star” the blue haired eccentric interrupted.

“Ha I’d love to see you take me and Soul on. You wouldn’t last two minutes without Tsubakis help” the bookworm gloated.

“Fight! Fight!” the younger Thompson sister chanted excitedly as her sibling muttered “I’m not being your stupid ref again.”

“That was a wonderful speech Kidd” the shy multi-formed weapon said trying to defuse the situation.

Death the Kidd cleared his throat, “Thank you Tsubaki. Now that everyone’s here we should probably get going. Sid and the others are already on their way to the dock.”

As they approached the large ship they could see a dozen of their classmates and acquaintances waiting for them.

“Do you really think we need this many people when you have the brilliant Black Star on your side? I’ll take them all on myself. All these fools will just get in my wa-” Having heard this tangent half a dozen times since lunch, the boastful meister was treated to an infamous “Maka Chop”.

“Oi what was that for ya stupid nerd”

“Don’t push it dude that was just her warning shot. Only a 400 page book? God Maka you must be going soft,” Soul said cooly, confiscating a book from his scowling meisters hand before she got ready for another attack.

“Anyway do you really think it was a good idea to leave that stitch freak and his girlfriend in charge of DWMA while you’re gone Kidd?” Liz tutted, finding another split end in her perfectly straightened hair.

“Thanks to Maries power Stein has managed to regain his mental stability but is not yet combat ready. I had to join this mission as the one who approved the construction of these covens and leave someone in charge in my absence and they were the obvious choice. Besides we don’t really want him trying to dissect anyone before we even find any evidence that they are guilty of these crimes.”

“Are yous the kids for DWMA?” an old fisherman approached the group as they gathered on Magnolias port.

“Yes we are I am Death the Kidd and you are?”

“Your, ah- sickly looking friend over there asked if I would be kind enough to show you folk around our town. I’ve lived here all my life so I know this place like the back of my hand.”

“Thank you sir. So if you’ll kindly lead the way.”

“Yes of course. Just um before we begin may I just inquire about your sickly friend? Because if he truly is unwell he may need medical assistance and I’d happily show him to the local hospital-”

“Oh there’s no need to be so concerned. He may be a zombie but he is in peak health”.

“Oh, I- I see. So um is there any particular sights you’d like to see?”

“Yes. What can you tell us about ‘Fairy Tail’?”

“Can someone please tell me what the big attraction is? We’ve had a boost in tourism ever since they opened shop but they’re all just loud mouth delinquent nuisances and the sooner they leave the better.”

“Is that a good or bad sign for us?” Soul laughed.

After signing into the hotel and leaving their bags the fisherman led them to a large building bursting with life. Outside there was a café full of laughing tourists mingling with witches and a strange gift shop.

“Well I guess I’ll leave you here. There’s no way I’m going into that hell hole. You know where to find me if you need me. Good luck.” the old man scoffed quickly and walked swiftly in the opposite direction back to his beloved pier.

“Come on what you fools waiting for?” Black Star yelled, running head first into the unknown.

“Wait for us” Tsubaki yelped, stumbling after her meister.

“No way we’re going to let him have all the fun. C’mon Soul.” Maka yelled chasing after her friends.

Inside the strange building was completely different compared to the quiet peaceful town it was located in. It was complete chaos. Everywhere insults were being shouted, punches were thrown and objects flew through the air.

“What you say shithead?”

“Be a Man!”

“You looking for a fight asshat?”

“Come at me you iron idiot”

“Which one of you fools ate the slice of cake I had been saving?”

“Oi whats the matter with you ya monster.”

“You’re supposed to ask before you attack both of us.”

“What did we get ourselves into?” the meisters and weapons paused in shock at the scene in front of them.

Lydia Walters: I really enjoyed this novel. It gives us a view of what could be if we really tried. Also that there's nothing wrong with loving our LORD and our fellow humans. couldn't wait to get to each new chapter (mission). Thanks, Joe!

Hudson: Your story was fantastic Erin! The Rising Sun was one of the first stories I read on Inkitt, and I have to say I don't regret the three to four days I spent pouring through the story.Probably the biggest strength I see in your writing is your characterisation of Eliana, Oriens, and the rest of th...

re8622: The Last Exodus quickly grabbed my attention. Almost as soon as I started reading the story, I couldn't put it down. I found that the ideas the author put forth were very thought provoking given the turmoil we have seen gradually rise over the last several years. I felt that I could understand th...

aoifecollopy22: I loved how the author had the conflict come back later in the story. Also how they passed time without going over anything. That really helped move the story along. This kept my up for a few hours. YOU SHOULD READ THIS

SPepper: I had a hard time putting this book down even to go to sleep. The story is compelling and beautifully character driven. I hope author will make this a series.

makaylakay: I love love this story! It's written incredibly and well thought-out plot! I love how it's a different twist in fantasy fiction, other then the usual vampire or werewolves. Love the romantics and drawn to the two characters so much already! This book will draw you in within the first chapter and ...

ArgyrisMetaxas: Thrilling story which builds layer ontop of layer. A few mis spellings every few chapters. What I found special was that it took a modern day problem and took it to its logical conclusion and plays this realism with gritting precision. I'm always on edge ready to shout from adrenaline. This is gr...

Erin Crowley: The concept here is really strong, but the execution is definitely lacking. Tenses, grammar, etc are all off, with at least one or more errors per 'Page' on my phone. The writing style is almost broken- sentences move into each other awkwardly, and are filled with an excess of "filler words", lik...

genlynne2379: I read the other review of this book and I must say that I disagree with it wholeheartedly. I do not believe the author put the apostrophes in the names just to be unique, but because the characters are supposedly of a different race than humans. They are Anmah. They should have different names a...

maewilde25: I am so in love with this story!!! captivated me till the very end, there wasn't a dull moment. Roy Jenner: I was pleased to join the action where this B-17 was limping back across the English Channel defying all odds.
