The rain fell spitefully against the dull windows of the Hogwarts Express. I sighed, as I fell backwards, further into my seat.

"Can you stop sighing?" Daphne giggled from opposite me.

"Yeah!" Pansy joined in, laughing along. "People will start to think you're bored of our company, and I've got a reputation to keep."

Pansy and Daphne have been my best friends since first year; funnily enough, we'd made friends on the Hogwarts Express.

They've been my girls since day one, and I've known Daphne since we were both babies, since our families have always been close.

Daphne's been my best friend a lot longer than Pansy, but now we're a trio, and I love them both so much.

"Sorry." I pouted, and they both looked at me sympathetically.

"Bad summer?" Pansy asked, voice gentle.

My gaze got lost staring at the raindrops on the outside of the train windows as I nodded my head slightly.

"You're parents again?" Daphne inquired.

My silence confirmed her query.

"I just don't understand how they can be so horrible to their daughter. Their only child for that matter." Pansy mused, a look of irritation on her face.

"They're dicks." I mumbled.

I don't really like talking about my parents too much. We used to get on really well, but since they turned to drink after they lost their jobs, they've started taking their anger out on me.

The worst part is, I can't bring myself to hate them for it.

"You need to do something about it. Tell someone." Daphne fumed.

"Absolutely not. They'll get into trouble. I know they're fucked up but I can't do that, end of." I told her.

"But I hate seeing you so sad Y/N. I miss happy Y/N, bring her back."

By this point I'd already stood up and walked over to the door of the compartment we were sat in, sliding it open.

"I'm going for a pee, and when I get back, you better be talking about something else." I said, a warning finger pointed towards them.

Before waiting for a response, I closed the door and spun round in the direction of the toilet.

As soon as I turned, I bumped into something hard. Honestly, it felt like I'd walked straight into a brick wall.

"Ow." I muttered.

"Watch where the fuck you're going Y/N."

Although I was good friends with the vast majority of the Slytherins in my year, one person I'd never really clicked with, just so happens to be the one person I'd just bumped straight into.

"Maybe you should watch where you're going, Malfoy, and your attitude while you're at it." I sneered back.

I didn't hate him, not really. He just wasn't the best person in the world. He'd always tormented me, whether it was a few nasty words when we crossed in the corridors, or screaming at me in the common room for no reason.

"My attitude? You should watch your own. Speaking to me like that? You know, you always have been a bitch."

My face dropped slightly, I wasn't offended, I just really couldn't be bothered with the same shit over and over again.

"Can't handle the truth, bitch? Aww, that's a shame." He fake pouted, the prick.

"Fuck you Malfo-"

"How are the parents?" He criticised, interrupting me.

Everyone knew about my parents; their faces being in the Daily Prophet for the petty little crimes they'd commit when drunk.

I took a deep breath, and forced a smile on my face, clearing my throat so my voice could sound as confident as possible.

"As I was saying before you interrupted me like a rude prick, fuck you Malfoy."

I would have waited for a response, but the scowl on his face was fulfilling. So instead, I turned and walked towards the toilet, a smirk on my face.

One things for sure, I'll be staying well away from Draco Malfoy this year.
