BrightWin AU novel
(Inspired by the Princess Diaries)
DISCLAIMER:
This is a Thai Bl fanfiction. Some characters are made up by me, but the main characters are the names of real bl actors. The events and most of the places in this story are fictional and the characters in this story do not accurately present the people and who they are in real life. I do not claim ownership of their names. Additionally, some minor characters are from the Thai series 2gether the series and the full credit for those character names goes to the author of that book, JittiRain. No copyright infringement is intended.
As mentioned, this book is inspired by The Princess Diaries films. It is a BrightWin alternate universe fanfiction. I will be combining some of the main and most memorable events from both the first and the second movie, so we aren't waiting too long before we see Bright pop into Win's Life.
Of course, the book is set in Thailand. Also, I made up the fantasy province Win will be the crown prince of. I did not want to inaccurately represent any other province in Thailand, so I decided to create a fictional one. It will be called Duangkamol Province. I searched that the name means "from the heart." I thought that it was beautiful and chose it. It is also supposed to tie back to Win's father's name in this story as well.
Additionally, I decided that the Thai government stays the same. Their government being mainly run by a constitutional monarchy and parliament democracy as it is in real life.
Outside of my book, this means that their King, Rama X, under the constitution does not govern them, but rather the people have democracy in which they vote for their leaders, the prime minister etc. Although the King is still a figurehead of the nation.
It will be the same in my book as well. In my book, Win's royal family doesn't have governing authority over all of Thailand, just Duangkamol, but they are still the constitutional monarchy of the whole Kingdom of Thailand. They are replacing King Rama X in my story, but instead of them residing in Bangkok, they will reside in Duangkamol.
An example of this type of government is the Queen of England. She is a monarchy and governing authority of her country, but she is a constitutional monarchy with no governing authority in many other countries, that have gained independence from her governing authority. I hope that helps to explain a little bit.
The only big change for how the country sees Queen Kulap is that Kulap will not be as big of a figurehead of Thailand as King Rama X is. Mainly because Win isn't supposed to know or realize that she is the Queen. I'm making Win to be a clueless bunny who doesn't know his own grandmother is the Queen of Thailand, but mainly because she is not a figurehead of the country and not talked about so much. Got a give him a bit of a break.
Again, to reiterate, in my book, the only Thai province that is still a monarchy that has governing authority over it, is Duangkamol. Duangkamol will have a parliament of course, as most Monarchies do. So, again, Queen Kulap is the governing authority of Duangkamol, but not the rest of Thailand, although she is still the Queen of the whole Kingdom of Thailand.
However, every Thai person in the story knows the royal family resides in Duangkamol. They also know that there is a secret crown prince, but they don't know his name or what he looks like.
I hope it's okay. No disrespect to the current king is intended nor to any of the government officials.
Also, I am sorry if I shared any misinformation about the Kingdom of Thailand and King Rama X's governing authority under the constitution. What I shared above is based on my research, but if I am wrong, feel free to correct me.
Happy Reading!
