-Deku POV-

Ever since that day, people were keeping an eye on me. Someone always had to be with me everywhere. Either my mom or Kacchan. Those were the only people in my life that I could actually trust. After the incident, Kacchan started to care about me. I mean actually care. That was a first for both of us. Seeing the softer side of him made me feel worried. His acting like someone he wasn’t made me feel bad. But enough of that.

I’m in college now. People haven’t really suspected anything yet, so, I guess I’m fine. It’s only happened twice.

“Deku..? Are you okay?” I shook my head and looked up to see who called my name. Oh... It’s just Uraraka.

“I’m fine.” She gave me one of her worried looks.

“I swear, I’m fine.” She nodded and then walked away. The first bell rang and our teacher walked in. He looked as if he hasn’t gotten any sleep. At all.

“Good morning class. My name’s Shota Aizawa, and I’ll be your homeroom teacher for the rest of the school year. Since it’s the first day, I’ll let you all do what you want. Get to know each
other,” He said and then sat at his desk with a pile of papers.

I lied my head down on my desk and closed my eyes.

“Hey. Wake up. Class is over,” A voice said softly. I slowly lift my head up and look in the direction of the voice. A boy with bi-colored hair stood in front of me with his hand on my shoulder. I get out of my seat and grab my bag.

“Thanks,” I said as I walked out of the classroom, glancing at the boy behind me.

“So, how’d your day go?” My mom asked me as I entered the kitchen. I sighed and sat down at the table.

“It was okay,” I said. She stopped chopping onions and looked at me.

“Just okay?” She questioned. I nodded.

“Did you meet anyone? Make any friends?” I sighed and shrugged.

“Just some girl named Uraraka.” She raised an eyebrow.

“Anyone else?” I looked into her eyes. I could tell she wouldn’t give it up until I told her everything.

“Okay, I met one other person. I don’t know his name though. Happy?” She smiled and nodded. She turned away from me and continued chopping onions.

After a while, I head up to my room and I got a call from Kacchan. I answered it.

“Hey, Nerd. How are you holding up?” He asked.

“I’m fine. What about you?” He sighed.

“Meh... Could be better.”

“Well, I’m gonna go now,” I say as I hang up. I toss my phone across my bed and throw myself onto my bed. I stare at the ceiling and close my eyes.

What a day...

Ilana1949: Loved it! Easy to read, enjoyable, Great estoy, real, couldn't put it down.

Megan: I think I keep reading because I like the way the author discusses the trauma the main character has been through. You can very much imagine how Lia feels terrible at pulling in others and asking for help. The focus isn’t on the actual abuse as much as it’s focused on the emotional part. I like ...
