Prologue - "Hi Love"
I checked my phone as soon as I woke up. No messages from him. I checked the time. 7h33. He had told me he would be home before sunrise.
I listened to his voice message again.
"Hi love," said his beautiful voice. ”We’re boarding right now with the boys."
I heard Jin’s loud laugh behind him. He paused for a moment and lowered his voice.
"I can’t wait to be home... I can’t wait to hold you in my arms," he said in his husky voice.
I could hear some airport gate calls behind him. Sure thing, the group did not miss their flight.
"I miss you so, so much. I know it was just a few days but... I got used to falling asleep with you every night."
I smiled and looked at his pillow next to mine. I held it every night since he was away. It still had his smell on it.
"I will be at the apartment before sunrise. Don’t worry... I will bring coffee," he chuckled.
I checked the time again. 7h34. Our bedroom was already bathing in the morning sunlight.
"See you soon, OK? I love you," he lowered his voice again. ”I love you so, so, so much."
My heart sank at how much I was missing him.
"Let’s talk again when I’m home... you know," he cleared his throat. ”About the wedding. Anyway. Love you. Bye.”
I was suddenly not so impatient to see him again.
I got up and headed for the kitchen. For once, I was going to make my morning coffee myself. I washed my hands and opened the coffee bean bag. It was my second favorite smell in the world - after his.
I started to pour the beans into the coffee grinder when, all of a sudden, I felt his big warm hands on my hips. I gasped and recognized him instantly. He leaned against my back and buried his face in my neck.
“I told you I would bring coffee,” he grumbled in a sweet but tired voice.
I felt his soft hair tickling my skin. His warm hands started to run on my hips and my belly. My hand reached for his head full of hair.
“You scared me,” I said with a chuckle, closing my eyes in relief.
He’s finally home.
He took a deep breath in my neck and started kissing it. My eyes closed, I remembered the first time we met. Our first date. The first time we kissed. All of our first times. I sighed, feeling so happy to have him here with me finally. It just felt so right.
While he started to softly kiss my shoulder, I began to remember how, not so long ago, my heart was torn between him and another man. Today, I could not imagine how this was once possible.
And then, I started to remember it all...
