Ratchet walked out of Building E. Ever since the death of Optimus 10 years ago, he'd been working on a Time Bridge. A rumored myth back on Cybertron, it allowed the user to go back in time to any event.
"Are you still working on that Time Bridge?" Miko asked, "Give it a rest. You'll never get it right."
"Are you always this gloomy? Have a little faith." Ratchet replied, even though he knew she was right.
The amount of energon wasn't the problem. It was the type of energon that worried him. With the frame of a Space Bridge, the Time Bridge used a mixture of Dark and Red energon. Dark energon was no problem. Megatron's storage vaults were packed to the max with the stuff. It was the Red energon that troubled him. The only proof that it existed was used up by Starscream.
"Hey Ratchet!" said Raf,"I've got the program ready. All we need to do is test it."
When we first devised the plan, Jack came up with the idea to make a Synthetic Red energon. Raf supported the idea, so we gave it a shot. On our first attempt, we nearly blew up the building, but made it thanks to Jack's quick thinking.
The com-link started to beep, and I answered it.
"Ratchet, I need a bridge." said the thick voice of Bulkhead,"I've got a lead on a Red energon reserve."
"What, here? We were lucky enough to stumble upon that first batch, and you think there's more here?" Ratchet said, mostly frustrated at his stupidity.
"Who said I was coming?"
"Raf, you're in charge." Ratchet said.
He transformed into an ambulance and turned the sirens on. If there was Red energon at stake, he would need to get there as fast as possible. Luckily, there wasn't much traffic today. As he neared the cave, he heard voices inside. One, was the unmistakable voice of Starscream, which was a surprise, since Predaking, Darksteel, and Skylynx nearly killed him.
"Shockwave, how much more energon do we need?"
"Ever since we lost control of Cybertron, our energon reserves are at a critical low. We must get more if we ever have hope to revive the Decepticons."
'The Decepticons? All of them are workers now, and some work as Elite Guards. How are they going to convince them all?'
Ratchet slowly entered the cave. There wasn't anyone there. He continued, a little less worried, but ready to fight. When he neared the two, Bulkhead spoke in his com-link.
"Ratchet, you coming?"
"Quiet Bulkhead! I've got a situation." he replied, but his whispers echoed through the cave.
I've got a situation, I've got a situation.
Starscream and Shockwave both looked around, clearly surprised that someone had eavesdropped them.
"Activate the Space Bridge, Ratchet. I'll come through!"
As he moved toward the Space Bridge, he heard a laugh.
"I know you're in here, medic. But you won't be able to hide forever." Starscream said.
"Don't be foolish, Starscream. He isn't worth this much energon." Shockwave argued.
"His intelligence is more valuable then the energon." he replied.
Ratchet turned, and looked right at the face of Bumblebee.
"You're back from recon?" Ratchet said.
He nodded, and put a finger to his mouth. He pointed to Starscream, and then pointed to himself. Before I could warn him, he ran and jumped Starscream. Following his lead, Ratchet attacked Shockwave.
"What's wrong, Scream? Cat got your tongue?" Bee said as he shot at him.
Starscream transformed and flew out of the cave.
"Coward!", Shockwave yelled,"Come back here and help me!"
Shockwave transformed as well, and tried to escape, but Ratchet threw himself and knocked him into a wall.
"What's all the commotion?" Bulkhead said.
"We're coming through," Bee replied,"and we got a captive."
