Seeing Red

These characters all belong to the estate of J.R.R. Tolkien. This story was written for pleasure and not for financial gain.

With grateful thanks to Raksha for her help,

Seeing Red

Faramir wept bitterly, tears pouring from his blue eyes.

"Stop crying, boy, or I'll beat you again!" Denethor said harshly.

"I'm crying because you don't love me, daddy!"

"It is unlikely I even am your father - you have red hair!" Denethor roared.

"Could the renowned Captain Thorongil be my daddy then?" Faramir asked hopefully, dodging a blow from the enraged Steward's hand.

"Impossible!" Denethor snapped. "The scoundrel left before you were begotten. He was dark too."

Faramir looked disappointed, then cheered up as a new thought struck him.

"Boromir does not have dark hair either," he remarked.

Denethor exploded.

A/N This is of course, Movieverse and AU and has no connection to my other stories about Faramir.

I plead guilty to having written weepy Faramir.

I do know of people with red hair born to dark haired parents in real life, so Denethor is being unreasonable.

Roxie: This was a very well thought out story and I greatly enjoyed it! I don't usually go for these kinds of stories because of clichΓ©s and what not, nut this was great. There were a few typos and grammatical errors, but that is to be expected. While I knew the overall end of the story It was engaging ...

romboili000: No a fence to the people who wrote those reviews but u are being to judgmental for a few silly little mistakes anyway I really like your story maybe go back and try to fix those mistakes but also please do not give up I really liked your story. And I know you can get far with it so yeah.

JulieJeanette: I'm only on chapter nine, but so far I am loving this story!. I am on pins and needles hoping that they find good men in their lives by the end. I am American and so the British tone and lingo ('knickers,' 'sod it' ) of the book is very appealing. I had to find out how much '12 stone' was by goog...

christylynnr5: This book was absolutely amazing. It had romance, comedy, and mystery. Sid is a girl that pretends to be a boy and goes to an all boys school. Of course there is going to be romance. There's comedy in the story because Sid's character is carefree and has no filter making her bluntness and sarcasm...

Rebeccaseal: This was an almost perfect story that I would recommend to anyone. The only thing I would work on is painting a more realistic picture of Haiathiel. Somehow the environment seemed limited, and the land itself a bit unfinished. This can be solved simply by added descriptions to people and places. ...

Alex Rushmer: I just want to say that the writing in this is amazing! I read the first couple chapters and was absolutely drawn in by it, The way you use first person in this story is extremely engaging and does wonders with your character development. I immediately had a picture of the characters and plotline...

Kassidy Duncan: This is a really sweet story, and I'm really enjoying the premise! It's cute, but also is put forward well in terms of a TV drama (as in, I could definitely see this being acted out). There were a few spelling and grammatical errors that I noticed, but other than that, it was a great read.

Ruby0h: Overall I thought your story was really good! It drew me in right away and kept me interested as the story progressed. I loved the character of Kayla being inserted into this story, and the way she affected and shaped the life of the original story into something totally new and interesting. I lo...

Jaslyn: I loved reading this so much!! The transformation of Nina's self-esteem was incredible to read, and while I was rooting for Parker halfway through, I was very satisfied when Harrison and Nina finally got everything straight. The side characters were adorable - I especially loved Anna, Richel, Mic...
