The Enterprise shuttlecraft – shuttlebay

00000 Introduction to the Enterprise Shuttlecraft 00000

More and more authors put up 'ideas' files, placeholders for drabbles, ideas, oneshots, and other collective silliness that, in most cases, will never make it to fully-fledged stories. As a fanfiction author, I'm nt above using a good idea for myself (otherwise I'd be writing original fics, rather than fanfics), so I decided to use this format as well.

The Enterprise Shuttlebay will be filled with small and not-so-small shuttles, some of which will be as small as a few scenes, and some as large or larger than some one-shots I've written.

However, all of them will have one thing in common – the scene breaks will be often, and the time jumps will be very noticeable. As these are ideas, I will only write out the scenes for which I have ideas, and none of the usual connecting scenes that will tie everything together into a coherent story.

The format I have chosen to use will give the prospective reader an overview of what to expect. For instance, Shuttle One has the following characteristics:

Main Universe: Harry Potter

Crossovers: The Hollows, Naruto, Avatar: the last airbender, Animorphs, D Gray-man.

Timeframe: Harry Potter, age 6

Last updated: 22 August 09

It gives an overview of what the main universe is (in this case, Harry Potter. There is one Naruto story at the time of writing, this may increase in the future. The crossovers are listed by the name of the series, so that readers who wish to know more about the characters can research them quite easily. The timeframe gives an approximate indication of where the first scene takes place. In this case, the reference is Harry Potter at age six. Some are totally AU, going from age one or before that. The last update reference is a counter. When I write more of a particular shuttle, I will swap out the old one with the new one, keeping the number of individual chapter down.

If you're not scared off by now, feel free to enter the Enterprise Shuttlebay, and enjoy your stay!

Leah Brown: This was an amazing read! I was hooked from the very first chapter, holding my breadth to see what would happen next. The characters are rich and vibrant, and the world Danielle has created is fascinating. If you love YA, you MUST read this book. Such a smart, brilliant debut novel. I loved it!

Jean Tryon: As a beta, I found this story outstanding!! Plot, grammar, phraseology, etc Rachel gives us it all. She takes the story into the future from where due South ends. She is an exacting and thoughtful author.

Warchief: The biggest problem with the Harry Potter series is that it's all from his point of view. So we never really get to see or understand events from other peoples perspective. I think that they would be more than a few people that want to know what happened at Hogwarts during that last year.As far a...

Dinzy: I enjoyed this one and it made me wonder. What do you think about writing a sequel to this one. But the sequel could be called The Girlfriend Games. Just a thought. All in all it was entertaining.

ga1984: I really enjoyed it! Characters were deep and plot was pretty complex. A bit on the violent side but it doesnt detract from the story. Very dark but situations make sense. Ends kinda abruptly and later chapters will need some editing work. I'm assuming there's more in the works?

Alex Rushmer: I just want to say that the writing in this is amazing! I read the first couple chapters and was absolutely drawn in by it, The way you use first person in this story is extremely engaging and does wonders with your character development. I immediately had a picture of the characters and plotline...

DennisT: This is an excellent story by an author who writes very well. the only problem areas that I see relate to proofreading and editing. All of the stories by Vanessa are excellent, and I have read them all more than once. I had hoped that they would be better edited and proofread on this site, but it...

tyleroakleyfan: thank you for writing this story I loved it. it was great I enjoyed every minute of it I couldn't stop reading you did a fantastic job. Thanks for killing ron he was starting to piss me off. he was being a dick. I love that you made it a gay love story its about time someone did. love it great job.

263Adder: Okay so I adore this story. I only knocked one star off plot for historical inaccuracies because I'm a bit of a stickler for that. The ending broke my heart though, considering you already changed history couldn't you (SPOILER) change it a bit more and have them together!!!! I want an alternative...

Kasey Pinney: This book had me from the beginning. I never came across a part I didn't want to read or that didn't entertain me. The characters are well developed and the internal conversations fit the book well.

summerstone: Seriously this is one of the best books I've ever read. The plot is intriguing, I love the narrative style. Its very descriptive and unique, with minimal cliches. It makes for a great read and the sequels are amazing. Totally worth reading. ^^ That's me trying to be professional. But in all hones...

Rebeccaseal: This was an almost perfect story that I would recommend to anyone. The only thing I would work on is painting a more realistic picture of Haiathiel. Somehow the environment seemed limited, and the land itself a bit unfinished. This can be solved simply by added descriptions to people and places. ...
