“The ice is freezing faster than it’s melting! Heave men! Heave!” Ordered a deep voice, “No sacrifice, No victory! We will get to the artic circle lads!” Groups of men digging into the snow with force, with some hope of finding something.
The dogs cut loose. They were attracted to a crack in the ice.
“Come back!” The men shouted. They chased after the dogs with speed. The husky’s started scratching into a part of the snow.
“The dogs have found something.” One said. The ice began to crack beneath their feet. “The ice is cracking!” A section of ice fell in, taking the captain deep under.
He slid down a rough, cold terrain of snow.
“Captain! Grab onto the rope!”
“Get him!” Many men yelled, concerned for the captain.
“I’m alright lads!” Replied the Captain. He stood up onto a small cliff of ice. He lifted his lantern up in front of him to witness a sight never imagined before. “Men! We’ve made a discovery!”
The captain leaned forward and cautiously touched a tall spike of frozen metal. It sparked with electricity. Two deep orange lights shone to a flash. The captain fell backwards losing his glasses and dropping his lantern. Covered in snow, he reached for his cracked glasses to continue his discovery.
