The King of death

All Rights Reserved ©

400 AD, the golden age of Viking expansion, an endless winter comes to an end as a promised child is born. But the child is both the savior of a mighty kingdom and the pain of the royal family. Olaf, King of Kerut, has plunged his kingdom into an endless winter. His actions have both angered the Gods and his family who see him as a defeated man. In the middle of one of the worst storms in recent history, the child of promise is born, a child that will end the winter of discontent. But all is not as it seems; Odin issues a warning about the child's future which angers Olaf and forces him to turn his back on the Gods. This begins the decline of a mighty man ans the actions that plunge a nation into political turmoil. The nation is split down two lines, one who cannot stand the King and call for his head, the other hopes for salvation and sees the best in a ruler who has largely brought prosperity to the kingdom. The King of Death is as much his story as it is a story of a child that will grow into a great man.

Some people say that history is shaped by those who are destined for greatness. I can tell you now they are wrong. They were not there when the endless winter turned a child into a man, a man that was born into greatness, but was shunned because of it.

They did not see him stare into the eyes of the Ice Giants, defying their threats of torture. They did not see the child challenge evil incarnate, the great wolf that walks the barren wasteland to devour the souls of the weak. They disregarded the child that would lead the greatest army known to man against an evil so horrific that the sun never shone for countless years.

I was there. I saw the child of prophesy come into this world. I was there when Odin walked the earth on the night he was born. I saw the child grow into a man, and a leader of men. This is his story. Never forget it.
