๐’œzir, despite his earlier agreement to do so, allowed everyone to gaze upon their true form. As dark clouds began rolling with the faint sound of thunder, all present wondered if that was part of their transformation, but given time, rain began to shower upon the island. Some wore hats or knitted caps, hooded coats, jackets and cloaks, while others carried umbrellas just in case or didnโ€™t mind the cool water to shower upon their bare heads.

Glancing over his shoulder at his kin standing behind him, Azir received nods in approval. Without words being spoken, he stood in front of his kin that gathered around him; each began glowing simultaneously in their Jinn green glow. Everyone who stood closest to them, including myself and Anthony (my mom pushed through the crowd until she stood alongside us) backed away watching as their figures grew from their statuesque 5โ€™11-to-a little over six foot tall height; they towered everyone present once stopping at their true Jinnโ€™s height of eight feet. As the lights faded, a shocking but magnificent sight for some, was revealed. Their beautiful smooth unblemished African skin had transformed jet black with a rough textured armor-like skin. Similar to that of an Alligator without appearing Reptilian. Their features remained except for small spikes running along their cheekbones and length of their jawline, accentuating their masculine or feminine features. The womenโ€™s hair and the mensโ€™ facial hair had vanished revealing bald heads and spikes, giving the appearance of crowns. Running along the outside of their forearms, were the continuous spikes with two inch nails protruded from their fingers. Their eyes glowed brighter as did their tattoos, complimenting their form. Azir who remained front and center, held larger spikes along his head giving a kingly display, as did Natash who stood proud as his Queen.

Everyone remained silent, standing in amazement with no words to be said.

โ€œWhat other creatures are going to pop up on this f*cking island?โ€ Leonus mumbled, then glanced over his shoulder taking notice of the Jinn standing behind him, followed suit of their kin; his gaze glancing up as the beings leered upon the Scotsman.

โ€œDo we frighten you?โ€ Azirโ€™s voice deepened in a muffled tone.

โ€œI canโ€™t speak for everyone, but weโ€™re not frightened of you.โ€ my mom referred to herself and I.

โ€œYouโ€™re beautiful, in a magical sense.โ€ Katrinaโ€™s soft voice added from her place among the Wiccans and warlocks, โ€œIs this what all Jinn look like?โ€

โ€œNo. Each Jinn race has their own origin and what you see hereโ€ฆโ€ Azim replied proudly, โ€œis ours.โ€ he stood with his arms out, metaphorically puffing his chest. โ€œJust as you humans have different races and appearances.โ€

The Lycynians of course, mocked the Jinn, rudely disrespecting them with their statements that they werenโ€™t the only freaks on the island that transformed.

โ€œCongratulations...โ€ Erik barked, โ€œyouโ€™ve finally admitted to the fact that you transform into mindless-flea infested dogs!โ€

โ€œSay that again, boy!โ€ one of Leonusโ€™ pack mates stepped forward, clenching his fists.

โ€œGladly.โ€ Erik approached but Hiromi held him back.

โ€œThe boy is right!โ€ Azim added his insults.

โ€œIf you think youโ€™re better than us, prove it mate!โ€ a Lycynian woman argued; a woman with stringy wet dyed pink hair and dressed in steampunk leather, โ€œDuring the next full moon, be in the compound and then weโ€™ll see who is superior!โ€

Azim stepped forward.

โ€œAzimโ€ฆโ€ Azir warned firmly, โ€œENOUGH!โ€

โ€œThere is no need to do such things, for WE are superior!โ€ Azim gestured at his kin behind him, โ€œAnd we donโ€™t socialize with mutts or their b*tches!โ€

โ€œOh, sh*tโ€ฆhe didnโ€™t.โ€ I muttered.

โ€œOh, yesโ€ฆyes, he did.โ€ my mom added, standing alongside me.

โ€œI donโ€™t like this.โ€ Anthony stood close behind me, โ€œI donโ€™t like this at all.โ€

โ€œMe either.โ€ I frowned, listening and watching as the paranormals shouted in a raging protest; they pushed their way through the massive huddled crowd. I turned to Anthony asking him to escort my mom back toward the Wiccans who backed away from the gathering, โ€œPlease, get her out of here.โ€ I pleaded.

โ€œWhat are you going to do?โ€ Anthony questioned reaching for my hand.

โ€œSomething I have to do and pleaseโ€ฆโ€ I gently pulled my hand away, placing both on his chest affectionately, โ€œdonโ€™t think less of me?โ€ I leaned in, kissing him passionately then backed away.

โ€œLess of...Yza!?โ€ he called out but I didnโ€™t answer as my petite form disappeared through the rush. He worried but paid attention on the task of caring for the young womanโ€™s mother, โ€œCome on, Lady D...letโ€™s get you out of here.โ€ he held onto her shoulders, gently guiding her through while roughly pushing men and women out of the way.

Wraiths hissed flashing their fangs, Demons grunted with glowing hands that sparked their arcane magics, while humans were caught in the middle. The Lycynians argued and shouted, punching or knocking men to the ground, splashing around in the mud.

I squirmed and fought through the skirmish, all while trying to keep my balance, pushing warriors aside or apart but my efforts were pointless. I glanced toward the clan of Jinn who stood out of the ruckus concealed behind an invisible barrier where Lycynians bounced off as they tried lunging toward the magical beings. I donโ€™t know if Azirโ€™s brother took responsibility for the taunting remarks; Azir and he were standing in an argument. I frowned then stood somewhere in the middle of the crowd feeling all the rage, anger, hate and violence. I focused on those emotions and closing my eyes, I remembered Molockโ€™s teachings of harnessing my powers. During everything thatโ€™s been taking place, he had managed to appear to me in moments of break from his work, teaching me more about my demonic nature. I heard his voice whisper in my ear, instructing me in what to do and feeling the rain pounding against my head and form, my Aura erupted brightly. Once formed, I created a barrier that pressed against the figures and backs of the individuals nearby before releasing pulses of the energy, similar to the solar flares but in a circular range. The force pushed back those standing close to the ground or causing them to roughly bump into their arguing neighbor. The rain couldnโ€™t extinguish the flame but sizzled against it. The energy penetrated everything and everyone in different ways as they paused, feeling an intense heat tingle their bodies. Some felt a slight burn against their skin, and by that, I mean the Wraiths. Even the Jinn, hidden behind their own Jinn magical shield, felt its warmth on their Jinn skin, as it penetrated their barrier, more than it should have. I opened my eyes breathing heavily then glanced around, leering at the curious and fearful faces. I remained in my Aura as I slowly strolled through the crowd; figures quickly moving aside as the Auraโ€™s heat was too warm to endure.

My mom stumbled to keep her balance because her knees felt weak from the rain, but she managed to stand long enough to watch her daughter in admiration and surprise. She knew sheโ€™d been practicing but she had never shown her. From her point-of-view, her daughterโ€™s half-breed powers were growing and although she supported her, and always would, she worried what her powersโ€™ true potential could be. Anthony stood close to her, holding the large umbrella above their heads, watching as the young woman made her stand against the crowd of men. He grew proud and not once, did the string of doubt thread its way into his thoughts or desires. If anything, it made him desire the young woman even more. He grinned but it quickly faded as another wave spread through the training yard; he felt its warmth but they were far enough away so it wouldnโ€™t cause any damage or redness of skin.

โ€œAnthonyโ€ฆโ€ my momโ€™s voice whispered.

โ€œHmm?โ€ he glanced down at her.

โ€œAre you alright? With this? With her? With what she can do?โ€ she wondered.

He stared deep into the motherโ€™s kind but worried eyes. Growing a faint smile, he nodded answering quickly,

โ€œYes, Lady. D...I am. Itโ€™s who she is and for thatโ€ฆโ€ he raised his gaze, listening as the young half-breed began speaking loudly, โ€œI love her more for it.โ€

โ€œLove?โ€ my mom grew surprised.

โ€œSi.โ€ Anthony answered.

โ€œIโ€™m only going to say this sh*t once and all you mother f*ckersโ€ฆBETTER LISTEN!โ€ I shouted, โ€œI donโ€™t care if youโ€™re a Wraith, Lycynian, human, Demon or Jinnโ€ฆโ€ I leered in the Jinnโ€™s direction with a dancing flame in my dark eyes, โ€œI am sick and tired of all the god damn bullsh*t so either you put it aside, saving it for the war or you get the f*ck off my island, because Iโ€™m done! I wonโ€™t have anyone killing each other for nonsensical words or actions and if any of you dareโ€ฆwhispers a word in complaint or argumentโ€ฆโ€ I created swirls of fiery energy in my hands (NOT fireballs), โ€œI wonโ€™t hesitate to end it all myself! DOโ€ฆYOUโ€ฆUNDERSTAND!?โ€ my eyes scanned the crowd which remained silent, all bowing their heads in agreement, fear or respect. My gaze focused on my hands, watching as my Auraโ€™s energy disappeared as I clenched my fists, โ€œNowโ€ฆโ€ I sighed heavily, โ€œnow that everyone has seen what they needed to, get inside and out of the rain!โ€ I loudly instructed then strolled toward the Jinn continuing firmly, โ€œNext time, if you have something you want to say or some snarky remarkโ€ฆkeep it to yourselves!โ€ then I turned, quickly approaching my mom and Anthony; Abraxas and Zanz followed after, โ€œIโ€™m sorry. I didnโ€™tโ€ฆI didnโ€™t want you to see me like that.โ€ I continued in a faint whisper, combing my wet hair back.

โ€œYouโ€™ve been practicing, I see.โ€ my mom smiled, โ€œThatโ€™s good.โ€ she placed her arm through mine, feeling an intense warmth emanating from me but she ignored it.

โ€œNo need to be sorry.โ€ Anthony added, placing an arm around my waist, โ€œI...we...are proud of you.โ€

Walking between the two that loved me most, I felt tears sting my eyes.

โ€œThank you.โ€ I looked at them both, then glanced back watching as the crowd quickly dispersed upon my warnings. I sighed heavily, worrying about what everyone thought of me after tonight. It was then, leaning against a nearest tree, stood Molockโ€™s form. Rain didnโ€™t touch his head or shoulders but I watched as he clapped proudly, nodding in my direction. I couldnโ€™t see his face too clearly but Iโ€™m sure we made eye contact.

โ€œVery good, demonessโ€ฆโ€ his deep voice entered my mind, โ€œvery good. Iโ€™m most proud!โ€

โ€œThank you.โ€ I answered, returning the nod then watched as he bowed and disappeared. A smile grew in the corner of my mouth before I continued on. Molock, among my mom and Anthony, didnโ€™t judge. I could be myself around himโ€ฆmy demonic half and it was a relief not having to hide it from someone.

The Jinn had returned to their tents and huts built of magic or rooms at the Inn, engaging in a heated discussion but as Azir and Natash returned to their rooms, they hadnโ€™t seen the last of his brother.

โ€œWhat in all of the Elder Jinn was that!?โ€ Azim questioned, appearing in their room, disturbing his King and Queen.

โ€œPlease, come in.โ€ Azir snapped sarcastically, โ€œThere are things, I have not told you about that child. Things that are not mine to reveal but in this case, since it flusters you so much, sheโ€™s a demon.โ€ Azir sat; Natash standing alongside placing her hands on his shoulders comfortably.

โ€œA demon!?โ€ Azim exclaimed, knowing Demonsโ€™ reputation.

โ€œIndeed, but sheโ€™s not like other Demons you may know of. Sheโ€™s a sweet and strong young woman, but sheโ€™s only a half-breed.โ€ Natash added firmly, โ€œBut unfortunately, as we have witnessed tonight, sheโ€™s growing in her powers. We must be cautious and under no circumstance will any of us treat her like something to be feared. And you, brother-in-lawโ€ฆโ€ Natash leered upon Azim, โ€œwere wrong to have started that fiasco. I may not like the Lycynians eitherโ€ฆโ€ she paused placing her left hand on her hip, โ€œalright, I loathe the paranormals, but there are times when comments should be kept to oneself which is why, next time you see that young woman, you are going to apologize and if you do notโ€ฆbelieve me Azimโ€ฆI will know.โ€

Azim held back a complaint, bowing his head in reply.

โ€œApologies, my Queen...โ€ he proposed, โ€œbut may I ask one thing?โ€

โ€œYou may.โ€ Azir allowed his brother to speak.

โ€œShe was chosen?โ€ he continued, knowing of the orb stonesโ€™ search.

โ€œChosen by the very orb Marxus had sent, yes. And...โ€ Azir stood, โ€œthereโ€™s nothing anyone can do about it now. You may not like the child, brother...but if you do not show the respect we have gained for her, you are no longer welcome here and will return to our home. Is that understood?โ€ he stood face-to-face.

โ€œYes, brother. Yes, my King.โ€ Azim groaned. โ€œI will try.โ€

Hours later, after making sure my mom had settled in her room, paperwork was handled in the study, I returned to my room with Anthonyโ€™s company. He and I laid in my bed, just holding each other in silence before he spoke, asking about my training with great interest.

โ€œIt doesnโ€™t bother you?โ€ I wondered, pushing myself up against my headboard.

โ€œWhy would it?โ€ Anthony did the same action.

โ€œI donโ€™t know.โ€ I shrugged, โ€œI know Erik would haveโ€ฆโ€ I glanced at my hands, fiddling with my thumbs.

He raised my chin, looking into my brown eyes, speaking softly,

โ€œI am not Erik.โ€ he comforted, โ€œI am not. Youโ€™re half-breed yes, but Little Yza...youโ€™re also human. You have the best of both. I donโ€™t love just one over the other. Now, Iโ€™m serious...I want to know about your training.โ€ he urged, โ€œCome onโ€ฆโ€

I smiled, leaning forward resting my head on his chest. We sat there for a while; he listened attentively to my tales of training with or without Molockโ€™s instructions. He seemed fascinated. Anthony held no grudge against anyone for who or what they are, except for some who decided to live unnatural lifestyles. He admired the Wraiths and Demons, and although he was turned Lycynian, he learned to accept that part of himself without consequence. Taking a break from talking about nothing but myself, I felt tired of doing so. I changed the subject, asking more about how he and Thomas learned to be such great swordsmen.

โ€œOhโ€ฆโ€ he chuckled, โ€œthatโ€™s a long story.โ€

โ€œIโ€™m not going anywhere.โ€ I advised, โ€œCome on, tell me. Please?โ€

โ€œAlright.โ€ he paused, then began explaining how he and Thomas took fencing classes in their younger years but growing tired of the tights, form fitting uniforms and inappropriate advances, they quit, โ€œIt was difficult for we couldnโ€™t just drop out when we wanted, but we did. We were rebellious in our younger years.โ€

โ€œThomas? Rebellious?โ€ I teased.

โ€œSi. He may seem reserved now, but he got himself into quite some tough struggles. On my behalf, of course, but he was always there. So, we dropped out and continued our training amongst ourselves, practicing everyday, twice a day. Other...things took place in between these little moments, things of which involve my past with women, then I was turned into a Lycynian which you already know. After that, Thomas got word of a safe place where he, Louisa and I would be safe and the rest is history.โ€

โ€œSo youโ€™ve had quite the exciting life then?โ€ I pondered curiously.

โ€œI guess so, yes.โ€ he agreed.

โ€œMm.โ€ I moaned then before I could say another word, there was a knock on my door.

โ€œAre you expecting anyone?โ€ Anthony asked.

I glanced at the time, knowing who it was.

โ€œYes.โ€ I complained. Crawling out of bed, I reached for the folder on the bedside table to my right, searching through a thick stack of papers tucked away in a yellow envelope.

โ€œWho is it?โ€ Anthony inquired as the knocks continued.

Glancing over my shoulder I answered bluntly,

โ€œYeah. He wanted to read some of the pages from the Demon book, so I told him Iโ€™d make copies for him to read. Here they are.โ€ I held up the envelope, โ€œGive me a moment?โ€

โ€œSure.โ€ Anthony had no worries that Erik came around, โ€œIโ€™ll be in the bathroom.โ€

โ€œYou donโ€™t have to hide.โ€ I joked.

โ€œIโ€™m not. I just need to use the bathroom, if you donโ€™t mind?โ€ he didnโ€™t just make himself at home.

โ€œOf course.โ€ I chuckled.

He stood, as did I, then parted our ways in opposite directions. Watching as he closed the bathroom door, I smiled then opened the door; Erik stood there looking handsome as always with wet hair he had combed back.

โ€œWish I could say that smile is for me.โ€ he observed.

โ€œBut it isnโ€™t.โ€ I revealed honestly, โ€œHere for this?โ€ I tapped the envelope in hand.

โ€œThatโ€™s the book?โ€ Erik gestured at my hands.

โ€œA copy of it, yes. Half of it, anyway.โ€ I handed the thick contents to him, โ€œItโ€™s translated, so you shouldnโ€™t have a problem reading it. When youโ€™re ready for the rest, let me know.โ€

โ€œThanks.โ€ he peeked inside taking a quick look at the pages. Closing the envelope, he tucked it under his left arm then leaned against the door frame and pleaded, โ€œListen, Keeps...can we talk?โ€

โ€œAbout what?โ€ I folded my arms.

โ€œAbout this. About us.โ€ Erik gestured between himself and I.

โ€œThere is no this. There is no us. You made sure of that.โ€ I argued.

Anthony had finished his task in the bathroom and after washing his hands, he stood close to the door, listening to the conversation taking place on the other side.

โ€œI realized I acted like a jacka** but I took some time and I think we can try again.โ€ Erikโ€™s voice muttered smoothly.

โ€œReally?โ€ my voice answered softly so it wouldnโ€™t disturb the Italian.

โ€œYes. What do you say?โ€

Anthony listened, hearing nothing but silence. He pressed his ear against the door then listened as the young woman declined his pleas,

โ€œNo, Erik. No. You and I...are done.โ€

โ€œWhy? Because youโ€™re f*cking Anthony?โ€ Erikโ€™s voice grunted.

โ€œWatch it.โ€ she warned, โ€œYou came here for the book, and you got the pages. Now, please go.โ€

โ€œHeโ€™s here...isnโ€™t he?โ€

Anthony waited for her answer.

โ€œYes. Yes, he is. And youโ€™re interrupting our evening.โ€ she affirmed.

He could hear her attempt to close the door but the thump in protest was louder. Opening the door emerging from the bathroom, Anthony watched as Erik blocked the door from closing with his foot.

โ€œAh, there he is!โ€ Erik mocked as the Italian approached, standing behind what was his, โ€œI think congratulations are in order, donโ€™t you think? Youโ€™ve finally mounted her, which is something youโ€™ve always wanted, isnโ€™t it?โ€

I gasped in disbelief, for I would have never thought Erik would stoop so slow.

โ€œYou need to leave.โ€ I instructed, โ€œNow!โ€

โ€œYou heard her...Erik.โ€ Anthony affirmed, keeping his composure but his warm eyes leered at Erik with a piercing stare, โ€œYouโ€™re not wanted here.โ€

โ€œI wasnโ€™t talking to you.โ€ Erik ignored his presence.

I took in a deep breath, then spewed words from my mouth I knew would damage Erikโ€™s ego and self-worth as a man,

โ€œYou know who youโ€™re acting like, Erik? Nathan! Youโ€™re acting just like Nathan, except worse. At least Nathan is Nathan. We all know thatโ€™s his behavior but you...youโ€™re pathetically sad. You have all that money in your wallet but canโ€™t buy the one thing you lost. Happiness. I cared about you, Erik...you and Anthony know that, but that wasnโ€™t enough. I tried, I did, but I told you Iโ€™m done. And yes, I am with Anthony and yes we are intimate, so go spend your money on the new little thing that Iโ€™ve seen hanging on your arm! Donโ€™t come back here. You want more from the book, make an appointment in the study.โ€ I backed away, slamming the door loudly in his face. Leaning my hand on the door, I stared at my feet listening to Erikโ€™s thoughts screaming from out in the hall. I covered my mouth, feeling tears stinging my eyes for I couldnโ€™t believe heโ€™d think those things: WHORE. B*TCH. PLAYER. HEARTBREAKER. Whatโ€™s happened to Erik?

โ€œHe thought something, didnโ€™t he?โ€ Anthony wondered, knowing my emotions were triggered by something else.

I didnโ€™t answer with words but nodded.

โ€œWhat was it?โ€ he gently turned me around to face him.

โ€œItโ€™s not important.โ€ my voice cracked.

โ€œIt is to me.โ€

I looked into his brown eyes, revealing the horrendous thoughts running through Erikโ€™s mind. Backing away, he felt the urge to storm down the hall and shred Erik apart but knew that wouldnโ€™t solve the issue because the damage, although not verbally spoken, was done. I watched as he clenched his fists that were concealing his claws; blood began dripping on his boots. Glancing over his shoulder, his brown eyes flashed yellow.

โ€œAnthony?โ€ I feared, watching as he breathed heavily, โ€œAnthony?โ€ my voice quivered.

Hearing the tone in the young womanโ€™s voice standing before him, he realized he was frightening her. Closing his eyes and flexing his fingers hiding his claws, he calmed the rage that brewed within. For now. He examined his hands seeing blood faintly smeared across his palms then studied the young woman before him; she stepped toward him embracing him tightly. He held onto her worried of what she thought of him.

โ€œLetโ€™s take care of your hands, hmm?โ€ I offered.

โ€œDoctor Yza to the rescue again, eh?โ€ Anthony grinned but his eyes still held anger.

โ€œAlways, Musketeer...always.โ€ I walked him to the bathroom.

After his hands were washed and dried, the puncture marks from his claws had healed. We returned to the bedroom and laid there for the rest of the night, without making love, just holding each other. At first.

Anthony laid alongside the young woman, watching as she slept then turned, laying on his back staring at the roof with thoughts and actions playing through his mind of his next encounter with the arrogant Demon. Never, in all his years, would he have never said or thought such things about a woman. Yes, he came across ones that were promiscuous and easy, but he could never treat them as such. He just didnโ€™t interact with them. He was picky but now that was his past; he had someone he was going to protect, regardless if she needed or wanted it. He turned his head to his right, taking notice of her open eyes watching as he laid in deep thought.

He held out his arm, inching closer to her and cupped her into her arms. Zanz and Abraxas felt disappointed they couldnโ€™t lay with their Mother but they kept their place near the fireplace.
