Chapter 30

As Jessica lay in bed she saw the moonlight coming in through the window. She remembered the night with Jonathan on the balcony and how he had kissed her and she had kissed him. Now she wondered if he was looking at the moon tonight to and if he was thinking of her. There was no doubt they loved each other but eternal life had divided them, as Jessica had feared. He had come out in daylight, taken her out and now she felt guilty because she wasn’t ready to cross this line yet. If he truly loved her they would wait but at the same time she understand his longing to be with her in completeness.

She laid her head back on the pillow and wondered if she would ever be ready to fully be with him and would he ever give up on her. She hated the idea of being alone without Jonathan. She was almost 19 years old would that be a good time so she could properly move out and not cause any unneeded drama like disappearing because she couldn't be around them because she didn't want to hurt her family. A vampire is that what she was really going to be. Jonathan would no doubt invite her in and give her anything she wanted but her family meant so much. Her mom had to work so hard just to make sure we got everything we needed. She would have to make an arrangement with Jonathan to help out her mom. When she looked at it like that it sounded like a business deal but it was a major decision in her life.

She knew in her heart of hearts that Jonathan would understand how much her family meant to her. It was his beast within that she was unsure of.

Jonathan stood on the balcony staring at the moon wondering if Jessica made it home okay. She had been so upset finding out his terms of their relationship and where it had to go to stay together. He knew she wouldn’t react well and it would take a while but how much longer was he willing to wait. She had a hold on his heart he couldn't shake. He usually wasn't this patient when he wanted something but he knew what she was giving up. Life was what you could make of it but he knew how she loved her family.

Then it struck him; if she didn't want to turn right now then he would have her in marriage. That would take the publicity off of him for being a bachelor and he wanted her to be his. He decided to look at rings tomorrow and surprise her as soon as he could get it together and plan it. This would make her happy and weigh things back in his favor.

Jason sat listening to Bruno Mars “When I was your man” and felt a tear slip down his cheek as the words hit home.

Seemed the words hit him so close to his heart. He missed Jessica and when he had been with her he felt good, and he never saw a cloud with her around. She had been different not selfish or unkind. Now he had pushed her so far from him. He could do something drastic and try to take on Jonathan but he was no match for a Vampire. There was nothing he could do but try to make Jessica remember the small week they had together and how they had felt. There love was different from a cold undead vampire who honestly he couldn't see how she could love. He flipped off the radio and decided to sleep since there was nothing he could do about this right now.
