The Hound

Her name is Eva.

I am The Hound.

Don’t let my appearance fool you. I know I look like a wolf, but I am a hound. I go by many different names in your land and your people talk about me in myth and legend, but I am not a myth or legend. I come from the Underworld – a place of great sorrow and pain for your people. Your kind say only bad people can go to the Underworld, but no. All of you will venture into the Underworld on your way to somewhere else.

You call the Underworld your hell or your purgatory. Uffern or inferno. But no.

It is the Underworld.

The Underworld was here long before your hell. It was here when the land was only ice, when the first men trekked north into this land and before the Celtic tribes inhabited it. It was here before the Roman, Angle, Saxon, Viking or Norman invasions, before the Christians came and the Pagans disappeared, and it will be here still after your people are gone. It was the first to be here and it will be the last. It is older than Annwn or Avalon, and any other godly otherworlds the many gods and goddesses created.

But I am not here for you, I am here for her.

She is Eva and she will be delicious.

She thinks she is safe, but she is wrong.

The king of the Underworld has a plan for her.

Marimar Amieva: Although I found the vampire thing a bit too much, I couldn't stop reading it. The story had a bit of everything: mystery, romance, a huge plot twist and relatable characters. I congratulate the author for this story and hope to read more of whatever he writes.

Alex Rushmer: This was not what I expected, but I enjoyed it a lot Malfoy was always one of the characters that I liked a lot, so I like that a lot of this happens between him and Colette. I read the first couple chapters, and I enjoyed your writing style and am excited to see where you take this story. My com...

genlynne2379: I read the other review of this book and I must say that I disagree with it wholeheartedly. I do not believe the author put the apostrophes in the names just to be unique, but because the characters are supposedly of a different race than humans. They are Anmah. They should have different names a...

Erin Crowley: The concept here is really strong, but the execution is definitely lacking. Tenses, grammar, etc are all off, with at least one or more errors per 'Page' on my phone. The writing style is almost broken- sentences move into each other awkwardly, and are filled with an excess of "filler words", lik...

Arabella: The catchy blurb caught my attention. The story is creepy but I would not qualify it as a horror story. The characters are likeable and I’m impatiently waiting for new stories from Obsidian Fae.

Nymeria: Really can't get enough of this story. It flows well, it captivates the reader from page 1, and throws you into such a well-written, well conceptualized world that you'll believe it's real. Everything in the book is meshed together really well. From character backgrounds to plot twists, you can t...

Cat32: I enjoyed the good versus evil aspect of this novel, especially as the protagonist has to discover how to access that good to save his family.
