Prologue: 00

Curiosity and Greed.

Humans naturally possess such behavior.
They are both double-edged swords ready to slash our back if we let our guard down for just a moment.
In the positive perspective, these two led us to where we are right now.

And the biggest product of the two combined is the Technology on its own.

In the study of Medicine and Computers, Technology has its vast impact where more and more advance surgeries, practices, and experiments can now be executed.

But the downside of this is that, such advancement also led us to the point where we even use our own species as test subjects for our inhumane experiments.

PLANET EZPHEURIS (EARTH) - YEAR 31E

A planet inhabited by more or less 3 billion people.
A world where an element called 'Mana' is abundant.
An Element used to control other Elements – Fire, Water, Earth, Wind and many more known and unknown elements.
But only 35% of this population can see, feel, manipulate and exploit its prowess.

These people are called 'Elementalists'.

Country of Teskia
Est. Population: 60, 000
Approx. No. of Elementals: 32.4%

'Mana is the symbol of Power.'

Those who can't wield it are placed in the bottom of the pyramid. The majority of them are slaves, servants, workers, poor and normal people.

People who can control 'Mana' are deemed gifted and place at the higher structure of the pyramid. Those who are proved powerful and influential are called first rate Elementalists and they are always put in the highest authority. Other second and third rate Elementalists are grouped together below the first class. While the elites and influential people with low-level power control over mana are put in the middle structure of the pyramid.

In short, Elementalists are the ones who rules each countries, to its cities, up to the lowest group of the society. In this world power is the key, not money.

Technology in Teskia has long reached the age of Super Microcomputers. But the curiosity and greed of all the scientists and researchers in Teskia doesn't end there. Because of the small percentage of Elementalists in Teskia, they dreamt of creating a device that can turn those who can't use Mana into someone that can use and manipulate it, freely.

After years of questions, stipulations, and trial and errors, using the advance technologies that they had - the first Nanochip was invented.
The nanochip was called NanoCore IS01, capable of processing data 50 times faster than normal microchips, but it can only hold one software program – the 'Invoke System'.

The Invoke System is programmed specifically to automate the use and control of 'Mana' and the other elements there is. But the chip itself is made to access the brain's storage and calculation area and enhance the brain's capacity and capabilities.

EzCorp, is known as the biggest and the most advance company in terms of technological advancements in Teskia. But behind this name, EzCorp was secretly experimenting on children ages below three years old who don't have affinity with mana, to find a subject that can resonate 100% with the NanoCore IS01 chip. They produced almost a hundred copy of this chip only for this purpose.

The children gone through the implant, but none of them resonated completely with the system. Some of them only improved in different areas of their brains but none of them can access the system itself.

A year later, EzCorp's secret was exposed to the public that the cause of the missing children all around the country of Teskia is all EzCorp's doing. The authorities confirmed that they aren't just abducting children, but they're also illegally experimenting on them. And by this, EzCorp has been forced to shut down.

All the children were sent into a special laboratory to check whether they are experiencing any abnormalities in their bodies or not. Some children were sent back temporarily at home and some are needed to be hospitalized because they were under experimentation when they were rescued.

After the incident and after thorough examination on these children, Mana Specialists found out that these children resonates with 'Mana' around them. Because of this, the authorities created a school exclusively for these children, for them to learn the basics of 'Mana' and the elements itself. At the same time, the school will serve as a giant observation laboratory to of course continuously observe the children for possible after effects of the experiments made to them.

Alexis Dredd Zarcal: Overall, it's a rather thrilling piece, merging superstition, psychology, slice of life, and the usual Japanese risque fare.
