Of Dragons and Hunters

A new dawn appeared on the sky above our land. For some, it was just another day, but not for me and few others. It was our first day that we'll go through as a new generation of dragon hunters.

To be honest, I didn't expect much of it. Unlike my father, mother and sisters, I wasn't excited for my first day as a dragon hunter, opposite, I didn't care about it at all. It seemed like others were more excited about it than me.

I never slept a lot during the night. I would usually peek through the window until I saw the first signs of dawn. Last night, I slept until I heard the first songs of the birds and then woke up to see the today's dawn. Sky was changing it's colours. First the pitch black colour that looked like it could swallow the entire land. As it slowly faded, the weird shade of blue came up and the stars slowly started to disappear. The fading continued to the lightest shades of blue when I finally spotted the slight orange light on the horizon. Sun was coming out and the day of my first hunt officially started.

As I saw the Sun coming out in its full shape, I thought about my name, Aria. My parents told me it meant 'intelligence of an eagle'. Well, if that intelligence saves me from getting killed between the teeth or claws of a dragon, then I got the right name after all.

reikij: I really enjoyed this book. It was very hard to put it down. The change between the different times wasdone nicely. There was no difficulty in keeping aware of which century I was in. That's a very good talent and not easy for many writers. This was smooth. The characters were interesting...

PurpleInkling: Hippocrite is spelt hypocrite. Also it is an awesome story! A good one after so long. I was hoping someone would write a good fanficiton playing off what Ron said at the station. You are doing a remarkable job. It would have been interesting if Albus had also ended up in Ravenclaw though that mig...

skippybash12: This story has engaging characters that you care about and a plot that is unpredictable and exciting. It is well written with a believable voice. Great weekend escape and if there was a sequel available I would buy it today -

John Reed: Seadrias masterfully captures the impressiveness and complex scope that a science fiction novel should provide while carefully crafting an entire universe that will leave a reader in awe from start to finish. The only flaw I could find is that I wish I could have read more. This book is certainly...

MegaRogueLegend666: I love this story so much. It's impossible to describe my excitement with each new chapter in words. The author has such a good writing style, very good descriptions of the fighting and character descriptions/emotions. the plot is also amazing! This fanfic could be a side anime show or novel ......

Ro-Ange Olson: Loved it and couldn't put it down. I really hope there is a sequel. Well written and the plot really moves forward.

Jade Jez: What a wonderful, immersive book from Eliott McKay. It starts with an air of mystery, introducing main character Michaela, the clumsy teenager. From there, it whisks you off your feet and dumps you into a beautifully written world where you can almost smell and hear everything happening. I go...

Felisa Yoder Osburn: I really enjoyed the story. Civil War stories are some of my favorites and the intertwining of the past with current times was wonderful. I look forward to reading the next stories.

ga1984: I really enjoyed it! Characters were deep and plot was pretty complex. A bit on the violent side but it doesnt detract from the story. Very dark but situations make sense. Ends kinda abruptly and later chapters will need some editing work. I'm assuming there's more in the works?

Warchief: The biggest problem with the Harry Potter series is that it's all from his point of view. So we never really get to see or understand events from other peoples perspective. I think that they would be more than a few people that want to know what happened at Hogwarts during that last year.As far a...

Noelle Anselmo: Jesus H Christ! When I saw this was a genderbent I though it was just gonna be the two main characters, but I was so wrong and I LOVED IT! I had no clue where you were going with it, and I was waiting for the make up, was dreading the possibility of not making up, and just how you had the story u...
