Chapter Ten

-Planes, Trains and Automobiles-

“Oh. My. God,” Hailee moaned. “Where the hell have you been all my life?”

Dominic grinned as he collapsed on the bed next to his mate.

“That was good for you though, right? Cause it was incredible for me.”

The big man chuckled slightly as Hailee spoke in between breaths. For a moment, he found himself mesmerized by the rise and fall of her gorgeous, milky breasts.

“It was good for me too,” he reassured her with a smile. As he rolled on to his side, Dominic propped his head up on his hand. “It always is with you,” he said. “If I were with anyone else, I’d be afraid I’d rip them in half.”

“Oh go on!” Hailee laughed before gripping as much as she could of his semi-hard length with her palm. “I’ll admit it’s a monster, but it’s not that big,” she winked.

“I wasn’t talking about the tool,” Dominic frowned. “I know sometimes I have a tendency to pound it in there pretty hard,” he admitted. “But no matter how much I try to hold back, I just can’t seem to dial it down.”

He absentmindedly lifted a strand of her dark, honey-scented curls before leaning down and shoving his nose into the crook of her neck. “There’s just something about you that drives me wild, Hailee.”

“Well then, I guess it’s a good thing I like it rough.”

With a playful shove, Hailee suddenly pushed Dominic over, quickly mounting him and letting her legs fall across either side of his narrow waist. As her moist heat slid up and down over his enormous shaft, Dominic nearly shuddered from pleasure. However, the Alpha male inside of him was unsure how it felt about not being on top.

A massive, meaty pec tightly gripped in each of her hands, Dominic could see the vibrations shaking her arms as a feral growl rolled out from his chest. As she sat back on her haunches, Dominic decided to act now. He had just flipped her over-- a thick arm wrapped around her core as he pressed her backside firmly against his front-- when suddenly the oven timer could be heard blaring from the kitchen.

“Damn it.” Dominic groaned as he released Hailee from his grip. He watched her perfectly round globes jiggle a little as she flopped down on top of the mattress before standing up himself. With a heavy sigh, he ran his fingers through his hair in frustration.

“I’ve gotta go baste the fucking turkey one more time.”

“You do that,” Hailee hummed before pulling the sheet up over her naked body. “I’m going back to sleep.”

Pulling on a pair of black boxer briefs, Dominic shook his head in amusement before heading out to the kitchen. It was almost ten in the morning, but his sister and nephew wouldn’t be there for another few hours yet. Dominic would be lying if he said he wasn’t slightly nervous.

It didn’t help that this morning when he woke up, he felt different-- stronger, sharper, slightly on edge. He swore he would rip someone apart with his bare hands just for glancing in Hailee’s direction. She had assured him that it was just the cycle of the full moon nearing that had him feeling this way. This new lifestyle was about to become a reality, she told him. Dominic would have his very first shift sometime next week.

As he put the Thanksgiving turkey back into the oven, Dominic headed into the bathroom to grab a shower before the big day. Along with the changes he felt in his demeanor, Dominic had also noticed that the muscles all over his body seemed more shredded and pumped than usual. He was already a hulk of a man, but now with even the tiniest of movements, his entire body rippled with power.

“It’s your body’s way of preparing you to withstand the changes of the shift.”

Hailee slapped his muscled ass as she walked into the bathroom behind him. He wondered how she always seemed to know what he was thinking, but as he turned to ask her, he grew distracted by her naked self adjusting the temperature gauge on the faucet.

The water was damn near freezing by the time they stepped out of the shower, and Dominic had lost count of the amount of times both had reached their release. The sexy, little sounds she made nearly drove him insane with desire. He thought about them all the time-- all day long-- practically every second. Hell, it was going to take a miracle for him to keep his hands to himself during dinner.

He watched Hailee adjust the hem of her shirt in the full length mirror again before they finally walked out of the bedroom. It couldn’t have been more perfect timing either as the elevator suddenly dinged on the top floor. As the doors slowly slid open, a young boy of about nine was revealed bouncing on his heels with excitement.

“Uncle Nick! Happy Thanksgiving!”

The young boy flung himself against Dominic, wrapping his tiny arms around his uncle’s waist. As the big man patted his nephew on the back, he could see a questioning eyebrow raise on Hailee’s face.

She silently mouthed the name at him before smiling. It was cute, sure. But he would wipe that smirk off her face later tonight when he had her screaming ′Nick′ at the top of her lungs.

“What’s up little dude?” Dominic laughed.

“Check this out!” The little boy practically squealed as he pulled something from out of his coat pocket. “Mom’s new boyfriend got me the new Nintendo Switch. Isn’t that awesome?” He beamed. “It’s been sold out for weeks!”

“Mom’s new boyfriend?" The tone in Dominic’s voice was anything but amused.

“Yeah. They’re on their way up here,” the child informed him. “And he’s a cop too, just like you, Uncle Nick.”

Now it was time for Dominic’s eyebrow to arch, but before he could ask anything, his nephew suddenly turned around to face Hailee.

“Who’s this?” The boy asked.

“This is my uh--” Dominic trailed off as he scratched the back of his neck awkwardly.

“I’m Hailee,” Hailee smiled as she stuck her hand out for the young boy to shake. “Your uncle’s girlfriend.”

Dominic’s nephew nodded before spinning back to face him. As he tugged on Dominic’s shirt, the large cop bent over.

“She’s pretty,” the boy whisper yelled.

“That she is,” Dominic agreed. He couldn’t help but send Hailee a wink over his nephew’s shoulder as they talked about her.

“So why is she with you?”

With a loud snort, Hailee covered her mouth with her hands to keep from laughing while Dominic stood back up to his full height. He was about to argue that he was in fact very attractive when the elevator dinged again.

As the doors slid open, Dominic had to keep from groaning outloud as he got a good look at his sister’s new boyfriend. With a smile, Hailee moved into Dominic’s side, but the two on the elevator made no move to get off. Pissed as hell, Dominic loudly cleared his throat. The couple pulled a part and with a slight gasp, Hailee stiffened.

Wes Clark’s lips curled back as he and Dominic’s sister made their way into the apartment. “Wow. Nikki told me you were a cop, but with a sister this gorgeous, I would have never thought that you two could possibly be related.”

As she dangled from his arm like a little school girl, Nikki laughed before swatting Wes’ arm.

“Oh, stop.” She scolded playfully, but everything about her screamed that she loved the attention.

“And who might this beauty be?” Wetting his dark lips, Wes’ attention suddenly turned towards Hailee.

Dominic looked down at his mate who was glued to his side. As Wes’ gaze dropped to her cleavage, he could feel his own temper beginning to boil over with jealousy. But that didn’t matter right now. Something told him his mate was in distress, her face failing to mask the fact that she knew him.

With a tight lipped smile, Hailee offered her hand to Wes and Nikki.

“This is Hailee, my girlfriend,” Dominic began the introductions. ” And this is Nikki, Henry and Wes.”

“It’s nice to meet you,” Wes said as he took Hailee’s hand in his own. As he held it firmly for just a second too long, Dominic watched as his sister’s eyes narrowed at Hailee.

Time to get this show on the road, Dominic thought with a roll of his eyes. He wasn’t sure how much ‘family time’ he could take before he snapped.

“Ok,” Dominic tried to smile as he gave a clap of his hands. “Why doesn’t everyone get seated in the dining room?” He suggested. “I’ll be out with the turkey in five.”

Aside from Nikki downing two bottles of wine by herself, dinner actually seemed to go better than Dominic expected. That is, until Wes decided to open his mouth.

“You know, Hastings, I’m actually kind of surprised that you’re settling down with such a beautiful woman.”

“And why’s that?” Dominic gripped the fork tightly before looking up from his plate.

“Well you know,” Wes shrugged. “I just always kind of figured you were a chubby chaser.”

“A what?”

Hailee coughed loudly causing Henry to pat her on the back. While the two engaged in a conversation of their own, Wes continued to exasperate the much larger cop.

“I mean I know he’s married and all, but I guess I thought that you and Doug-- well, you know.”

“No, I don’t know,” Dominic shot back.

At the harshness in his tone, both Hailee and Henry paused to look at him. Dominic was pretty sure he was shaking by now, but he didn’t care. He had plenty of experience in his line of work. If he needed to, he could make it look like Wes’ death was an accident.

“You consider yourself to be body builder, don’t you, Dom?” Wes smiled as he quickly changed the subject. “I’ve heard this rumor about body builders and I was wondering if you could tell me if it was true or not.”

From beside him, he could hear Hailee inhale sharply.

“Actually, now that I think about it, maybe this is a question best answered by Hailee.”

“Alright, we get it, blah blah blah,” Nikki suddenly interjected. “Are you going to ask already or what?” She drunkenly slurred.

With a frown, Wes turned towards his girlfriend. “There’s no need to get nasty, my love,” he gently chided. “I was just wondering if it was true that the grunts Dominic makes at the gym are the same noises he makes when he’s about to cu--”

Slamming her hands down on the table, Hailee abruptly stood. “Who’s ready for some pie?” she called before heading out the doorway that connected to the kitchen.

While Henry cheered, Wes excused himself to the restroom.

“Second door on the left.” Dominic muttered before shooting daggers with his eyes.

It wasn’t long before he could hear the heated voices of Wes and his mate carrying down the hallway from the kitchen. With Henry’s nose buried in his Nintendo, and Nikki seemingly concerned with filling and tipping back her glass, Dominic easily excused himself to go help Hailee with dessert.

“I’m pretty sure Bojing told you to take care of him, not move in and fuck the living daylights out of each other.”

“And I’m pretty sure what I do with my mate is none of your damn business,” Hailee hissed in response.

As he entered the kitchen, Dominic could barely contain his rage. Wes never stood a chance as Dominic stormed towards him. With an animalistic snarl, his large hand wrapped around Wes’ throat.

“Dominic, stop!” Hailee cried, but the words fell on deaf ears. As she placed herself between the two men, Hailee spread her hands across Dominic’s chest.

“You need to put him down,” Hailee tried again. “Dominic, listen to me!”

The hulking policeman growled in warning as he looked down at his mate. He didn’t like being told what to do. However, his demeanor softened slightly at the distress on Hailee’s face.

“Wes is one of Big Dragon’s familiars,” Hailee began. “An attack on him is as good as an attack of Bojing himself.”

Dominic didn’t fully understand what that meant, but he placed the other man back on his feet.

“Damn boy!” Wes doubled over as he gasped for air, massaging the area where Dominic’s fingers had been. “You need to learn some respect and where you stand on the food chain,” the smaller cop taunted. “I’ve got a message for the ’wolf cop’ from Bojing. Big Dragon says you better stand down. You won’t beat him, you can’t win this.”

Something feral suddenly snapped inside Dominic. As he lunged for Wes’ throat once again, Henry, followed by a completely drunk Nikki, suddenly stumbled into the kitchen.

“Uncle Nick!”

The big man froze but a ferocious growl still tore from his lips. Seizing the opportunity of a distraction, Wes grabbed hold of Nikki and Henry’s arms before dragging them towards the elevator.

“I think it’s time to go,” Wes scowled.

“But we didn’t have pie yet!” The little boy cried.

“Like you need any more sugar,” Nikki harshly replied.

As his nephew looked back over his shoulder, Dominic’s heart broke with guilt. When the elevator doors slid closed on the dysfunctional trio, the weremale roared his frustration to the heavens. He was about to throw Hailee over his shoulder and head back to the bedroom when he looked over to see her putting her coat on.

“And where the hell do you think you’re going?” he growled, stalking forward.

“You know where,” Hailee muttered, ignoring him as she continued to wrap her scarf. “I’m going to work.”

“Like hell you are!” he bellowed.

“Wes works for Big Dragon, Dom. And he’s with your sister. What do you think will happen to them, to us, if I don’t?”

Dominic watched as his mate slipped on to the elevator. As the doors slid closed once again, his fist pounded clear through the dry wall causing chunks of plaster to fall to the floor. No one threatened him, his family or his mate.

“I want that man’s blood,” Dominic seethed.
