Emotions shared

The sky an ebony black tonight, lacking any signs of life. No stars, no moon, everything that made the night perfect, the wonder of the rulers of the dark and day cycle, seemed darker tonight. The music rang in my sensitive ears of a garage band, the music fit my mood perfectly angry with a soul raging of fire.

The music stopped as I looked at the young teens staring at me, like the outcast that I have been for many years, born many years before these children were thought of. I turned to walk away from them, “Yo, you’re going to stop us and then walk away, not cool.” A female voice stated behind me gently turning me to face her.

“Gracie Lynn, this is a night I would prefer to be alone.” I stated looking at the young woman who barely turned eighteen and wanted to spread her wings to see what she could do also like those her age scuff at the things that get in the way of that.
Gracie Lynn tapped my chest getting my wrist, “Come on Leonard, I know you don’t like me touching your things, but I wanted to bring your electric violin to practice with me and the girls.”

I looked at her before any protests could be made she was dragging me to the garage. Gracie Lynn let me go as she introduced me to the other two teens in the room, “This is my friend and guard Leonard Blair, he may say some awkward things just look over him, he’s mostly all business.”

The other teens looked at me and one of the girls said, “This is all nice and all Grace, but we need a miracle, your drum playing is horrible, Leslie’s singing isn’t happening because of her throat hurting and me I can’t sing backup to no lead singer, can’t we just leave, we do this for fun, we never made a career remember, we literally got booed out of the building not to mention I had to wash the soda out of my hair and to be perfectly honest I still don’t believe it all came out.”

I looked at my violin, walking to it, I picked it up looking at Grace, who smiled and said, “Okay just one song I’m beat.”
The other girls sighed as Gracie Lynn got behind the drums I closed my eyes playing my violin. I had no idea how long it has been just my violin playing I opened my eyes looking at the girls, “I apologize, did I not play the song correctly?”

Gracie Lynn walked over to me, wrapping her arms around my neck, excitement oozed from her, I waited for her to release me once she did, she smiled, that was beautiful, “You have to be in our group,” looking from me to the other girls, “Liza, Leslie, we can still do this, with Leonard’s violin and your voices we would be hits in no time.”

“Pardon me, Gracie I don’t think your mother would approve of any of this, you know how she can be, speaking of your mother if she saw this she would have both of our heads you’re head for doing it and mine for going along with it. She and my father may know one another, but-” Gracie Lynn interrupted me and stomped her foot.

“Dude, you can’t be serious, you’re not serious…, “ Looking at me she sighed, “You are serious, you always take my mom’s side, what is your deal? What is everyone’s problem is it illegal to have a dream!”

I looked at her as she stormed towards the exit, “Where are you going, Gracie Lynn?” I asked placing my violin on its stand.
“I’m going home, or is that illegal also stay away from me Leonard, that is an order, go home, and leave me alone, I’ll deal with my mom.” Gracie Lynn retorted anger flowing as she left the building.

I sighed silently coming to the decision to go against her orders. I looked at the girls leaving behind her, following her in the shadow giving her a chance to cool down. I stopped smelling the odors beer and sweat, soon, Gracie Lynn was surrounded by drunken human males. I extended my hand as a wolf formed I pointed it in the direction of the men as it changed, the men ran as I walked out of hiding, “I was serious, but I don’t take your mother’s side I am on your side. I love you Grace, yell at me, laugh at me, I just desired you know that.”

I stopped waiting for her to react as she just looked at me she opened her mouth to speak but was stopped as we both looked to see the source of the unwelcome aura around us.
