Preface

I kept my eyes on her. She did not move. Her muscles must have been hurting by now. She had stood, leaning against the wall with her arms folded, for at least two hours now. She hadn't even shifted her weight.

Only one thing moved; her eyes.

That was normal. Her eyes were always moving, always looking around, always seeing and never missing any detail. Yet they were glazed over like she couldn't see a thing, her face showed no indication as to whether she actually saw, understood or even cared about what was going on around her.

What was going on around her was an organisation. Sort of. We hunted creatures. I don't mean creatures; I mean vampires, werewolves, fairies and even leprechauns. Anything that wasn't human. As long as they broke the law.

In a way, we were the police for mythical creatures. And take them down ourselves if we had to.

Me, I was part werewolf and part centaur. Basically I can change into a half man half wolf form and as for the centaur part, well, I look like a human who spent a lot of time lifting weights. I had never lifted weights in my life.

"How long is she going to stand there?" My best friend Kale complained.

Kale was a full werewolf with some demon blood way back in his ancestry. He was big, dark and big. His muscles had muscles. His chocolate brown eyes against his dark skin made anyone who wanted to live back off. Yet he gave a puppy dog face that I had yet to see a woman refuse.

"Shut up baldy." For some reason his head just won't grow hair.

The woman that we were watching was Frost. Frost was not her name but that was what everyone called her. By everyone I mean the boss - Colman - the boss's boss - Solomon - or whoever had no choice but to talk to her.

She was beautiful. Long hair that hung like a waterfall made of lava, pale skin and smoky green eyes. She was anything but frosty. Even her personality wasn't frosty. It wasn't exactly warm either but... There were four things I knew about her.

1. She was immortal.

2. She could take down any immortal twice her size with her bare hands.

3. She could give Stephen Hawking a run for his money.

4. She was insane.

Erin Crowley: The concept here is really strong, but the execution is definitely lacking. Tenses, grammar, etc are all off, with at least one or more errors per 'Page' on my phone. The writing style is almost broken- sentences move into each other awkwardly, and are filled with an excess of "filler words", lik...

sanbyra: This story is very well written and flows beautifully. I became engrossed in the romance element as well as the impending war. The action scenes are also depicted very well. I can't wait to read what happens next!

Lauren Sanby: This is an excellent story. Very gripping and keeps your attention throughout. Hoping the author is writing a sequel because I'd love to read more about Rhi and Andreas and find out what else Rhi is able to do with her powers.

Felisa Yoder Osburn: I really enjoyed the story. Civil War stories are some of my favorites and the intertwining of the past with current times was wonderful. I look forward to reading the next stories.

Abbie: i couldn't stop crying at the end. The end leaves you wondering if there is a sequel. So the question is "Is there a Sequel?

genlynne2379: I read the other review of this book and I must say that I disagree with it wholeheartedly. I do not believe the author put the apostrophes in the names just to be unique, but because the characters are supposedly of a different race than humans. They are Anmah. They should have different names a...

taosgw74: If this is the authors first attempt at writing, I'm floored. I was engrossed in the plot from the get go.

Marijana1: The melancholy present throughout this story has the power to influence and etch into the minds of the readers, to stay there and refuse to leave even after they have finished reading the story. This is a deep, powerful story, making the readers wonder about everything – about love, about their e...
