A War

I stared at all of them and crossed my arms. This was a battle I was not planning on losing whatsoever.

“Siren, when are you going to wake up and realize where you are?” Ash asks like he is talking to a child.

“I know exactly where the fuck that I am. What does that have to do with anything” I ask agitated?

“Then you should know that you are in a government facility. You don’t have much of a choice being here and you won’t have much of a choice of what you do. This is not about you so I think that we would all appreciate it if you grew up a little bit and did what you were asked” his voice grew louder as he spoke.

This triggered Iago who growled at him, his eyes glowing. Yassie pulls Ash back because I could tell that Ash was ready for a fight and Iago was ready to give him the fight that he wanted.

“I think we all need to back away for now,” Yassie says standing up. She pulls Ash with her and Iago relaxes as soon as he is out of the room.

Everyone leaves the room except Amathea who stays and stares at me.

“I agree with you Siren, I don’t think that you should kill him. He has not shown that this is what he wishes to do. Hell, he might ask for forgiveness when all of this over. We will probably all will” she mutters the last part and walks out the door.

I turn to Iago and I sit back down in my chair. I don’t say anything to him and he stares at me. I can see the sadness on his face, but a part of me knows that he agrees with them.

That is what pisses me off.

Most of them agree with the nutritious idea and really pissed off that no matter how much I would fight it they would still expect me to follow through.

“Do you really think that there is going to be a war? I ask Iago looking into his eyes.

He looked back at me and he rubbed a hand on his face.

“Honestly Siren, I think that it will, Goddess hopes that it only one. We can’t afford to lose any more good people because some psychopathic having a temperature. We will probably have to even get help from other organizations. That is going to be the hard part of this. You will probably have to focus on this as well” he says exasperated.

“What do you mean?” I ask slightly confused.

“We don’t have enough people to just go to war with this man. In fact, we have no idea how many men he will have and going in blind without any back up is stupid. That is where the politics come in. You have to convince some very powerful people to lend us their people in a war they could very much die in” he explains.

“When does this happen?” I ask.

“Right now,” says Ferrtuis says standing in the door.

“Pack your bags we are going to Italy,” he says as he walks away.

I have such a raging headache and all the people and the lights haven’t made it better. Ever since the ceremony I haven’t been around a lot of other people that didn’t have a connection to the facility. Now standing in the airport having people coming up to me asking to take pictures and to see some of my power in action it finally hits me what I am to these people. I was supposed to be a savior and supposedly one of the most powerful people on the planet.

It doesn’t feel like that to me. It feels like I am always the last person to know things and everyone has a better grasp of what is going on before I do.

It bothers the hell out of me and I don’t know if I can do anything about it. I want to go back home not be in Italy around a bunch of people that I don’t know. Don’t get me wrong the buildings and the art were beautiful and I was in awe at everything as we drove by, but in the back of my head, I was reminded why I was here. I was here to convince some very powerful people to give me an army.

We pull up to what looks like a hotel. A very large and expensive-looking hotel that I would never be able to afford on my own. As the door opens and I walk inside I take in everything around me.

My bags are taken by someone and I am led into a conference room. Inside the room are fourteen men and two women looking back at me. As the rest of my team enters the room the room seems to shrink. They all take a seat at the large table and I notice the only chair left was at the head. I walk slowly to the front feeling everyone's eyes on me. When I take a seat the silence quickly turns into many people talking at once. The one thing that I hear and understand the most is that no one wants... well no one wants

A war.
