“Do we really need to call him? Maybe it was just a side effect from all the liquor.” I complained as we sat in my bed room. I was sitting on the bed cross legged while Thor was lying next to me, his head resting on the back board. Erebus sat in my computer chair across from us, glaring.
“Hello? Yes she’s fine, we do have a problem though,” Erebus talked into the phone. So much for convincing him not to call.
“What’s the problem? Thor what the hell do you think you’re doing?” Thanatos asked, popping up in my room. I let out a scream of surprise.
“There’s a door you know!” I complained.
“This is not a chill out mission,” he glared at Thor.
“What? Do you want them to stand up the whole time?” I asked.
“He can sit in a chair like Erebus!”
“You’re over reacting!” I glared. Thor let out a quiet chuckle from behind me.
“Are you two sure you’re not married?” he laughed. Both Thanatos and I glared at him.
“What the hell is wrong with your eyes?” Thanatos asked. Wow he’s just now noticing?
“What did you two do?” he turned to Thor and Erebus. I saw Erebus fidget in his seat. Was he really scared of Thanatos? I mean come on! He’s the god of darkness. He shouldn’t be afraid of anything!
“We went to the club.” I crossed my arms glaring at him. I swear the room dropped ten degrees after I uttered that sentence. Before I could process what was happening both Thor and Erebus were thrown into the air. They were struggling as an invisible force choked them midair. A move I knew all too well, meaning Thanatos was doing this.
“I told you two to keep her here!” He growled out. I saw Erebus flick his hand and Thanatos was instantly thrown back into the wall. I gasped as shadows held him against it. One shadow started wrapping around his neck.
“Thanatos!” I threw my hands out. To my shock purple like wisps darted out towards Thanatos. They clashed with the shadows making them vanish before disappearing.
“Stay out of this!” he glared at me.
“I didn’t mean to do that!” Was this another one of my powers? I heard hard thuds from my left and watched as Thor and Erebus lay on the floor.
Fast as lighting a thunder bolt zoomed through the window straight at Thanatos.
I didn’t think just acted. I threw myself off the bed diving in front of him. I felt a slight tingle as the thunder bolt hit me. My head snapped to Thor as he stared at me in shock. I held a hand out towards him. The thunder bolt that just moments ago was about to hit Thanatos, darted out of my hand straight at him. He let out a cry of shock as it hit him full force. He sat up glaring at me. Uh oh.
“I’m sorry! I don’t know what I just did! I don’t know what happened.” I cried helplessly falling to the floor. I could’ve killed him! What if I had? Where did that power come from? It’s like I absorbed his thunder bolt then used it against him. Is that even possible? First the shield now this? Oh my god I’m a freak. A freak amongst gods.
“Damn,” Thanatos mumbled looking down at me as I sat on the floor. I could feel the tears building. He sighed, reaching down and lifting me up by my arm. “Calm down.”
“I can’t! What if I killed him?”
“Kill me with my own bolt? I’d like to see you try.” He smirked. I felt myself start to calm down as I noticed he was back to his normal self.
“What was that?” I asked no one in particular. Not like they would have the answer. They knew as much about me as I did.
“Something I’ve never seen before. It seems these powers of yours only manifest when you or Thanatos is in danger.” Erebus observed looking between the two of us. I blushed.
“Even after I told you to stay out of it.” he sighed.
“I thought you guys were going to kill each other!”
“No, we fight like this all the time.” Thor shook his head in amusement. What the? Who fights like that?
“You guys need help.” I walked over to my bed and sat down.
“It was a bad idea bringing you back on earth.” Thanatos frowned.
“No! I’ll be good I swear. Please don’t take me back.”
“Wow was living with us that bad?” Erebus asked.
“No, I just feel more...free up here. And alive.” I say, trying to find the correct word without upsetting him.
“She means she’s not surrounded by people she doesn’t know up here.” Thor rolled his eyes.
“Am I going to school?” I asked Thanatos. He cocked his head at me.
“Why do you want to go back? For Jeremy?” he hissed.
“Does Jeremy know I’m back?” I would love to see Jeremy again! Maybe seeing him will help me feel normal again.
“Yes, he felt it as soon as you were released back on earth.” He felt it? did that mean he felt when I left too?
“does he know I died?”
He shook his dead. “No, he just knows your soul left this plane for a while.” Isn’t that the same as dying?
“Will I get to see him?”
“No,” he stated simply.
“Why not? It’s not like you can stop him if he comes here.” I said smirking.
“Actually I could, there are spells to block angels out. And if he manages to pass those, which I doubt he will. These guys here,” He pointed at Erebus and Thor. “will make sure to take care of him.”
“But why can’t I see him? He won’t hurt me! He’s my guardian angel.”
Thanatos snarled at me, “I’m your guardian angel now. Deal with it.”
“You’re hardly an angel.” I rolled my eyes, unfazed by his attitude. He was so bipolar sometimes.
“I just keep liking her more and more. Not many people sass Thanatos and live to see the next day. Nor do they flick my thunder bolts away like a piece of lint.” Thor said. I blushed under his praising gaze.
Cause baby, now we got bad blood
you know we used to be-
The guys frowned as Taylor Swift started playing. I on the other hand knew it was my cellphone and began looking for it. “What are you doing?” Thanatos asked me, just as I pulled my cellphone from under the bed. How did it get there?
“It’s Sydney.” I looked at the caller ID.
“Don’t answer th-”
“Hello?” I answered.
“Isabel! Where have you been? I’ve been so worried! Open the door I’m outside.” she said this all in one rush. She’s outside? That’s not good. From the corner of my eye I could see Thanatos glaring at me. Was he listening in?
“You’re here?” I asked stupidly. I watched as Erebus peeked out my bedroom window. He looked back at us and nodded.
“Yes I am now open this door.” she demanded just as the bell rung. She ended the call as I started to panic.
“I told you not to answer.”
