Chapter 24

After Thanatos forced everyone to sit and discuss ‘problems’, meaning me and Hades wanting me. We all hung out and watched movies, except Thanatos of course. I don’t think he would ever do anything normal like that. He said he had matters to attend to. Probably going to push more people off of local bridges.

I was currently sitting on the couch between Jeremy and Thor. While Sydney and Erebus shared the love-seat.

“Why can’t we watch a horror movie?” I groaned for the twentieth time. Since Sydney and Erebus sat closer to the TV, they got to decide on what movie we were going to watch. Of course Sydney picked her favorite. “We’ve seen this movie like a hundred times!”

“I agree, aren’t you tired of avengers yet?” Jeremy sighed next to me.

“Tired of avengers!? One cannot simply get ‘tired’ of avengers.” she looked genuinely insulted.

“I’m tired of it.” I glared. She smiled at me.

“Shush now the movie is starting.” I rolled my eyes getting off the couch, making my way to the kitchen. If I have to suffer through this movie again, I may as well fill up on snacks. I opened the refrigerator door looking for something worth snacking on.

“Hey,” I looked over my shoulder to see Jeremy awkwardly standing there.

“Sup?” I kicked the door closed as I laid the bologna and cheese out on the table.

“Just wanted to make sure we were really ok.”

“Yes, I forgive you.” I threw the bread on the table hopping on a nearby stool.

“But I was such an ass,” He took a seat across from me. I frowned at his words. He only ignored me, I wouldn’t really call him an ass. Trust me after meeting Thanatos I knew the definition of an ass well. He’s got nothing on Thanatos. I don’t think anybody does.

“It’s fine Jeremy.” he looked confused as I said his name. Actually, now that I noticed he’s looked confused most times when people mentioned his name tonight.

“You forgive too easily,” I was starting to get uncomfortable with this conversation, and I didn’t know why. It was Jeremy, we’ve talked about worse. Done worse.

“You already knew that.” I bit into my sandwich as I studied him, which he was already doing to me. His face scrunched up as he looked at me. “What are you doing?” I was finally fed up with the staring.

“Trying to figure out of it’s really you.” My hand froze what?

“What are you talking about?” I started to get a bad feeling. I didn’t like the way he was acting, and suddenly I wished Thor or Erebus was in here with me. Weird right? I felt I needed protection from my protector. “You’re being really weird right now Jeremy.” I tried to calm my nerves, but I could feel sweat starting to build up on my forehead.

He walked over to me, running a hand down my face. “Jeremy? Who in their right mind names their kid Jeremy?” Now I was really freaked out. Why was he insulting his own name? I jerked my face away from his hand.

Just then Thor decided to walk into the kitchen. I felt a huge weight lift off my shoulder. Jeremy smiled at him, taking a step back from me. “You made a sandwich and didn’t care to make me one?” He frowned.

“I’m not your mother.” I was still shooting nervous glances at Jeremy and Thor noticed.

“What’s going on in here?”

“Well, we were having a lovely talk until you decided to annoy us with your presence.” he was still smiling the whole time he said this. That’s not creepy at all, and so unlike Jeremy.

Thor’s frown deepened. He was confused with his behavior just as I was. He’d been acting normal-ish all night and now this?

Jeremy let out a dramatic sigh.” You were always a little slow Thor. I thought you would’ve changed by now since the last time we hung out.” Just then Thanatos bust through the kitchen door.

“Isabel, get over here now!” I felt my heart rate rise in alarm. I’ve never heard Thanatos sound so scared. He is never scared! This must be something serious. I didn’t even care that he bossed me. I quickly got out my seat and made my way to him. Well tried to, Jeremy stepped in my way barely two steps in.

“I’m afraid that won’t be happening.” he said to me.

“What the hell is happening?” Erebus and Sydney came busting in the kitchen. Thanatos was glaring at Jeremy with pure hatred.

“That isn’t Jeremy.” Oh no.
