Starting off this novel, I didn't realize how much of it was wrote around the events of my life, and in no way do I intend to expose the people who have molded me and my story as I have spent the past two and a half years writing it.
These characters are all very real to me, and maybe they do not live in a world like our own, but they are certainly not strangers to my life. Every character you will encounter has their own story to tell, and forgive me if time forbids me to tell each of their stories to the full extent they deserve.
In the end, because I'm terrible at keeping secrets, no one is the hero individually, and every character falls apart. But sometimes you have to let yourself break to find out what you're made of.
I wanted to dedicate this story to the Caelum in my real life, but then I realized that he too was another part of the fictional, strange, and wondrous life and lies of Fiona Love Riley. That said, it is to every single one of those brilliant, false giving lights. You might not understand that now, but one day maybe.
Y'all know very well who you are.
