Chapter One.
It had been over two hundred thousand years since huge comets impacting into their world destroyed the population of a world within the Pegasus system.
Incredibly meteorite detritus from the impact started a long journey, which in time brought it into the Milky way galaxy and eventually to an impact, with planet earth.
Two hundred years ago Lord Carlyle had visited the Amazon on a trophy hunting trip, and he had some thirty Sherpa helpers from the military regiment he had commanded. While in the deep jungle he had learnt of a creature who brought sheer fear to the local tribes, and they all told the same story, that some years earlier a ball of fire fell from the sky, and many moons later, life had started to change.
Tribal hunting parties had failed to return, and after several attempts at determining why, they discovered the monsters and later refused to enter the area for fear of their lives.
Now the pompous overconfident Lord Carlyle wanted to bag himself such a trophy, five months later and after venturing into the forbidden area, Lord Carlyle emerged alone, he had been declared dead, but now looked incredibly fit, uninjured and very agile. He told the story of been confronted by monstrous creatures, and thanks to his military training, his team had stood ground, but had been losing life on a regular basis.
Eventually, twelve individuals managed to retreat, and just before Lord Carlyle exited the jungle only three individuals remained, but by the time Lord Carlyle reached the boundaries of the jungle, it was only he who emerged alone.
Now safely back in London, he had rebuilt his life and became wealthy beyond imagination, two hundred years later his family ran a group of highly successful businesses, and five of which were in the top ten Blue-Chip companies in the world.
Justine Gilmore had fallen in love with Nathaniel, the great, great grandson of Lord Carlyle, and she was now carrying his child, only unknown to Nathaniel, Justine was the distant relative of Lord Carlyle who had formed a preternatural union, from yet another human who in the distant past had fallen in love with a daemon, while not realising this monster was not human, and who had tricked and seduced her.
Justine was from this bloodline, and all females born were natural part Fay, spirit, and shapeshifters.
The child within Justine’s womb was the first of a new cross breed with the genetic makeup of a vampire, and that of a shapeshifter, only it was not a single child that Justine carried, but two females and one male, and his sisters and he, were the first of their kind to be born to this bloodline, and their grandmother Dawn, was in the service of Athena.
Already, and from within their mother’s womb, their powers were developing, and soon unknown to them they were to be born, and started growing rapidly into adulthood, and called upon to protect the earth.
Justine Gilmour looked at the creature, he was old, very old, and was the Sire of Lord Carlyle from some hundreds of years earlier, and now to the eyes of society and others, this creature was the accepted servant of the current Lord Carlyle, but this was only a deception, an illusion while designed to relax humans, as this Master Vampire now standing before Justine, was known as Gordelus, and was the rebirth of creatures not of this world, and in their own right millions of years old.
Gordelus could sense the power within the child before him, well child was not an accurate description, as Justine was a young adult in her own right, but to the eyes of this ancient malevolent creature, Justine was no more than a mere cub, a child of little importance, and although he could sense she was different and held power, he had no idea as to just whom or what she truly was.
As he guided Justine into the room to meet Lord Carlyle, Nathaniel, her lover and the true first-born son of Lord Carlyle awaited her arrival. Carlyle looked the child over and smiled, and Nathaniel immediately knew his father disapproved.
“Father, she is the one I love, and it is her I have chosen to marry,” spoke Nathaniel through his mind, and Lord Carlyle’s eyes widened at the tenacity of his son.
He looked at Justine and then back to his firstborn, “I have already told you, No! I do not approve; you are to marry within your own kind, you bring dishonour to me by presenting to me this cub.”
Justine knew of his thoughts and the words that he had just spoken but remained quiet and appeared submissive. Lord Carlyle looked at Justine and spoke,
“I am sorry, child, I understand you love my son, but he is promised to another, that is my final judgment.”
He was not yet aware of the children within Justine as angelic wards shielded them.
“Father, No! I refuse to accept your judgment,”
Shouted Nathaniel, and at that moment, the servant Gordelus re-entered the room. Quietly and through his mind, Lord Carlyle asked Gordelus to remove the girl, and then have her killed gently.
“Gordelus there you are, would you be so kind as to escort this young lady out, the meeting is over.”
He had spoken audibly not realising that Justine had heard him talk telepathically to this evil creature, and Justine ran to Nathaniel’s side and took his arm,
“Nathaniel come with me, we need to respect your father’s wishes, he is right, I am of no importance, and you should obey your father, he is wiser than us, please come so we can say one last goodbye before we part.”
While she had been speaking, Nathaniel became aware of her real thoughts and lowered his head, as if in shame.
“Father I apologise, I truly did not mean to dishonour you, I let my heart rule my mind, for that I truly am sorry.”
Lord Carlyle looked shocked; he had genuinely not expected such a response, so he raised a hand to old Gordelus,
“Gordelus, my son has seen he was wrong and come to his senses, I grant him one day with the sensible young lady, please escort them both off the premises,”
he said, and then within his mind, he ordered Gordelus to give them 24 hours together, and then to kill the girl when his son left her.
As Nathaniel and Justine vacated the building, they flagged down a taxi and departed. Neither spoke audibly for some time, as they realised Lord Carlyle had agents everywhere, and that most probably this convenient taxi which appeared as they exited his father’s building, was within his father’s employment.
Nathaniel spoke next audibly so the driver could not help but hear his words. “Justine, truly I am sorry, I do love you, yet you are right, my father is wiser than us, and I know he has my interests at heart, thank you for being so understanding.”
Moments later Nathaniel requested that the driver stopped, and they exited the car.
They knew others would be watching them, and Justine held Nathaniel’s arm and rested her head on his shoulder.
“Nathaniel, we have under twenty-four hours together, let us return to my home and spend one last night together.”
They knew others were nearby, yet being unsure as to whom was in Lord Carlyle’s employment. A young man walked beside Justine and took hold of her arm.
“Hi sis, how are you?”
Nathaniel smiled when he saw Chris, who was named after Dawn’s true love.
“Hi Chris, we have decided it is wiser to part company, as my father does not approve of us getting married,” said Nathaniel, while Justine quickly informed her brother of all that had happened through their inherited mind link.
Chris played along,
“Heck I told you…, no offence Nathaniel…, but I just knew you were not the right person for my sister, that said, I’m going into Starbucks for a coffee, can I buy you one?”
Both Justine and Nathaniel replied together,
“No not just now,” and then they laughed.
“We need to say our goodbyes.”
Chris smiled, “Ok…, it’s your lives, after all, good luck.”
At that he departed and went into Starbucks, leaving the two to make their way to Justine’s home. That night around 03 am Justine took one final look around her apartment and smiled at Nathaniel.
“Are you certain your father will fall for this?”
“He already has, although I am not so certain about Gordelus, he is not so easily fooled and is incredibly powerful.”
Justine smiled and kissed her partner on the lips, “You leave him to me, my brother and I have our unique surprise awaiting him. He has no idea as to what will confront him, to his mind he knows I am not fully human, but he has no idea as to just what I am.”
At that, the two hugged once more, and Nathaniel gave Justine one final kiss and then departed, leaving Justine alone.
As Nathaniel walked away and exited the building, Gordelus watched as the young vampire walked away, he looked downhearted, but Gordelus respected the young vampire’s strength of will.
He waited until Nathaniel hailed a taxi, and watched as it drove away, then he emerged from the shadows and entered the building where Justine lived.
As he made his way up the stairs to the tenth floor, he could sense other life forms inhabited this building, yet they appeared weak and were under a glamour so that they could live among the humans unrecognised.
As he came to the tenth floor, he could hear Justine as she was crying in her room. So, he quietly walked to the door and gently knocked.
“Justine Lord Carlyle has had a change of heart, let me in.”
He smiled believing the stupid child would eagerly open the door,
“it is unlocked come in,”
replied Justine, and the monster entered and closed the door behind him.
As he viewed the scene before him, he saw Justine laying on her bed with her back to him crying.
“Child let me comfort you, Lord Carlyle can be stubborn at times, but he loves his son, and not long after you departed we talked, and he came to his senses and asked me to bring you to him.”
As he was talking, his form changed from that of an old man to a superbly fit young man, immensely strong, handsome and powerful.
His upper fangs dropped, and he went over to the supposedly unsuspecting Justine upon the bed.
“I thank you said, Justine, as she turned to face him, and he expected a scream. Only he was disappointed,
“Oh, my grandmother what big teeth you have,” said Justine laughing.
He admired her courage, “No, child, you have it wrong, I am not the big bad wolf, I am…”
But Justine cut him off, “I was not talking to you, old man,” It was then he realised they were not alone within the room.
As he turned his head, there behind him stood a vast four-metre-high werewolf, it was terrifying to the eyes, and then Gordelus felt the bed move, and he realised he had been outsmarted as Justine transformed before his very eyes to match that of her brother’s appearance.
Instantly Gordelus played his ace card, and suddenly there appeared five of him standing side by side, and for most humans or natural werewolves, this would have fooled their eyes, but Chris and his sister Justine were born, part demon, as well as part Fay, and they saw through this creature’s trickery.
As Gordelus lunged for whom he thought was Justine, she merely instantly jumped towards him, only her mass grew, and for the first time, Gordelus realised she had seen through his glamour, and these were not mere werewolves.
As his head left his body, the other four vampires vanished, and Gordelus stared in utter shock as for the first time within millions of years he had finally met creatures by far more powerful than he, but as he died he imprinted into Justine’s mind,
“Foolish child, you have revealed your strength, I am but one, I have millions of brothers and sisters just awaiting the call to war.”
At that, he turned to dust, and Chris opened the window and took the powder and cast it to the wind. From across the world all those who had been converted to vampires, instantly became aware the controlling mind had left them, and their inbred genetic programming cut in.
It was Lord Carlyle who they now heard from within their minds, and he called them all to return so they could finally organise and declare war upon these humans.
Lord Carlyle could no longer sense his son’s mind, and unknown to him, Justine had taught him how to shield the brain, and incredibly had herself gifted to Nathaniel a small measure of her blood.
This was normal for a vampire, but this was freely gifted and from the blood were particles as carried from within her womb, and a small percentage, therefore, came from the children within her.
It gifted Nathaniel with the ability to shield his mind from his father’s glare, just as Lord Carlye had failed to read Justine’s mind, other than what she wanted him to see.
Nathaniel now held this very same power, and he had sent his father a mental image of multiple werewolves taking off the head of Gordelus, and then consuming his flesh, then to his father’s eyes, the same creatures turned to Nathaniel and Justine, and approached, and all Lord Carlyle heard was their last cries of pain from his son, and the young woman, and then, he could no longer see into his son’s mind.
As far as Lord Carlyle knew his son and sire Gordelus were dead, and war had been declared, so in anger, he allowed the rage to build within him, and he turned his massive conglomerate into the building blocks for his new Empire of Master of the Vampires.
