If I wasn't focused on the door that was just closed in my face as I tried to see her, I'd have missed the muted scream behind that very door. Taking off into a run, I hammer on the thick oak but it goes unanswered. For a second, just a second, I think it was just my mind playing tricks on me but then I hear it. Whimpering on the other side of the door, but it's faint.

I plaster my ear to the door and wait but I don't hear it again. I turn to walk away before someone sees me with my ear pressed up to the bedroom door of two chicks, but I'm frozen when I hear it again. Not giving them another chance to ignore my knocks, I drive my shoulder into the door and watch as it breaks free from the hinges. I wasn't prepared for what I found on the other side.

Genesis is on all fours, back arched and making low growling noises, growling that makes me tingle in places it shouldn't. And Farrah? Well she's on the floor, just inches away from Genesis and white as a ghost. Both their gazes snap to me when I make my entrance and I'm shaken to my core when I notice Genesis' eyes.

Her dark hair is flying wild, claws protruding from her fingertips, but it's the eyes. Her eyes are that luminicent golden color they were earlier today in the feretory. Is it because of the Occulus? Some kind of weird side effect? ? I'm brought back to my senses when Farrah snaps her fingers in my face.

"Echo, I need you to do that thing you do with Cree, the link thing. Tell him he needs to get here now." She screams into my face but it doesn't register. My eyes drift down to Genesis and my heart picks up pace. It looks strangely like she's shifting, but that's impossible, Occulus or not. What's even stranger is the way I feel drawn to her, my lower region becoming uncomfortable in my pants.

"Echo, dammit, get Cree over here now!" She accents it with a slap across my cheek and it's enough to bring me back to the present. I take a deep breath and link with my Alpha. He doesn't ask a question just cuts the connection. Just as I'm about to take a closer look to try to figure out what's going on, Alpha appears in the room directly next to Gen.

"What happened?" He directs the question to me but Farrah answers him instead. "I don't know sir, she was fine one minute, talking about getting something to eat, and the next minute she's on the ground and feral."

Genesis bares her teeth at Alpha Cree when he tries to get closer to her. Her hands are covered in blood and there's blood running down her face but I can't see any visible wounds. What the hell is going on right now?

"Alpha, what's going on? Is it the Occulus? Is it doing this to her?" I don't know why but I feel as though that has a part to play in this, what else could it be?

"Echo, you're still here?" He notices me for the first time since getting here and then his eyes go to the door. The very broken door that's wide open. "Can you fix that?" He points to the door and I nod, walking over to the door and placing my hands on it. I mutter the incantation and the hinges and splinters mend themselves together seamlessly.

"Ok, thanks. Alright. Ok." I've never seen my Alpha like this. It seems as though he doesn't know what's wrong or what to do next and that worries me. He always has answers. Always.

"Ok. It seems you're about to learn something that no one else knows beside the people closest to Genesis, and I have no other choice but to swear you to secrecy." I look down at Gen and she seems like she's getting worse. It almost looks like she has fur sprouting up her arms. I have no choice but to agree to this, if it means helping her faster.

I wasn't ready for what he told me though. I look over at Farrah to see if she believes any of it but it seems she already knew if the shoulder shrug was any indication. This is impossible, vampires and werewolves cannot procreate. It's against nature. But I can't deny that this very vampire hybrid is having her first change right before my eyes.

"There's time for you to go into shock later, right now we need to figure out a way to get her out of here before someone else comes up here." With that Farrah's eyes go wide like she just remembered something.

"She was supposed to meet Asher for dinner in 20 minutes. That was about half hour ago." Alpha curses under his breath and slams his fist against the wall. He tries to move toward her again, probably to transport her soemwhere safe, but she cringes away and snaps at his hand. She doesn't want him anywhere near her.

This is insane, and I might probably lose a couple fingers in the process but we have to get her out of here. "Meet me in your office." He starts to say something, probably to tell me not to go near her, but I don't listen. I take measured steps toward her and when she doesn't try to eat me I take it as a good sign.

I crouch down beside her and I can't help but take her cheek in my palm. She leans into it and emits soft whimpers as I drag her onto my lap and cradle her there. I don't know why this is so painful for her. My first shift was over in seconds and it was pain free. She sighs as my arms come around her and closes her eyes. I look to Alpha and he gives me a nod of approval. Thanks to Genesis helping me find my conduit, I now have enough power to allow me to transport her to his office without worrying we get stuck somewhere.

We pop into his office and I lay her on the sofa there. It seems as though the transformation has stopped. Her hand is back to normal, except for the dried blood which I still don't know the origin of, her breaths are coming in evenly and it seems she's asleep. Just then, Alpha pops in with a visibly shaken Farrah gripping on to his arm. I turn, and leveling a stare I say to him, "Okay, you guys have some explaining to do."
