You know that feeling you get when you’re snuggled down in your bed, half asleep, and you think you’re falling? The way your stomach lurches and it you think your inches from smashing into solid ground. That’s how I felt as I watched Chay and Johnny pace around the library, discussing the best course of action. To save my life.

Rose stood beside me, her hand clasping mine so hard I’d lost the feeling in my fingers five minutes ago. “Who told him?” she asked.

“I don’t know,” Chay shook his head, “All I was told is that he’s looking for her.”

“It’s only a matter of time before he suspects where she is.” Johnny frowned, “Grim, are you sure they can’t get in here?”

Grim, who was leaning against the windowsill as calm as could be, shot Johnny a look, “Of course.” he nodded to Chay, “Unless Lover Boy decides to let in anybody else.”

“Don’t start with me, Grim.” Chay told him. “You know she needed to come back.”

Me? Were they talking about me?

“Doesn’t mean I have to like it,” Grim mumbled, throwing a look my way.
