Chapter 26: Exploring The Dark Realm (Part 1)
I had a pleasant sleep last night and the bed felt nice and comfy right now. Just then, I felt someone gently running their fingers over my cheek making me giggle and turn away from him.
“Xaldin, let me sleep,” I groaned.
“*Chuckle* no can do, sweetheart. Come on, wakey-wakey.”
Xaldin teased as he pulled the covers. I frowned a little before grabbing the covers and pulling them back over my body. I placed the pillow on top of my head making Xaldin chuckle at me again.
“I don’t have classes...that was last one yesterday before we finish for Summer. Now let me catch up on some sleep.”
“But, I have so much to show you around here. There are still some people I want you to meet.”
“*Sighs* right, you asked for it.”
Xaldin pulled the covers off of my body and then he started tickling my sides. I squealed and then I started laughing when he tickled my sides.
“N-No! Xladin! hahaha!! please stop it! hahaha!!”
“Are you going to get up now or do I have to keep doing this until you’re fully awake? Because I can keep doing this all day, honey.”
“I’m awake! I’m awake! stop!! hahaha!!”
Xaldin stopped tickling my sides and then I panted a little from laughing so much. I looked at Xaldin and he was on top of me.
“Good grief, you’re such a tease,” I told him.
“I can’t help myself besides, you looked adorable when you were sleeping.”
“Have you been watching me sleep?”
“Oh! you creep!”
I playfully smacked his shoulder making him chuckle. Xaldin got off me and then he said to me.
“Breakfast is being served, don’t be late.”
I told him before he left the room. I got up from the bed and then I grabbed my clothes. I got changed in my black t-shirt, my blue denim jacket, my grey skinny jeans and converse shoes. I adjusted the locket I always wear and I tied my hair into a ponytail before heading downstairs.
I got lost on the way there and then I came across a portrait of two people. I noticed they looked similar to someone I know and then it someone spoke up.
“They were the previous King and Queen of Miraeria."
I jumped in fright and when I turned to look it was Shadow.
"Oh, you scared me."
"My apologies, my lady. My name is Shadow, I'm King Xaldin's right-hand man."
"Nice to meet you."
"I had a feeling that was going to happen, come on, I'll escort you to the dining room," Shadow told me as he offered his arm for me to take.
"Thank you, Shadow."
I wrapped my arm around his arm and then he escorted me to the dining room. On the way there, Shadow told me about Xaldin and what he was like as a child. I couldn't help but laugh at some of them.
"So when King Xander was distracted by his paperwork, Xaldin decided to add some very hot spice to his soup and when he finally decided to taste his soup, he started shouting and it took at least three jugs of water to cool off his tongue."
"Hahahaha! I had no idea Xaldin was such a prankster."
"Oh you'd be surprised, he wasn't always evil-looking, he used to be a very trouble-making child."
"Were you like that?"
"Maybe and I also got him a few times."
"Oh yeah? what did you do?"
"Well this one time-"
"Shadow!" Xaldin shouted after we got into the dining room.
"We do not want to hear how you got me with that horse crap bomb you pulled on me."
"Is that happened?"
"Let's just say I got him by using the catapult and then he...may have smelled really bad afterwards."
I laughed when he told me this and then Xaldin blushed in embarrassment.
"It's not funny! it took me three baths just to get that gunk out of my hair!"
I sat beside Xaldin at the table and then I said to him.
"Aw poor baby."
I chuckled at his reaction and then we had our breakfast. We had eggs, bacon, sausages, toast, pancakes and scrambled eggs. We also had a cup of earl grey tea to go along with our breakfast. Once we had our meal, Xaldin and I took a walk in the forest again and this he was showing me a different area. I looked at the sky and even though it was daytime it was still dark.
"What's with the sky? I thought the sun would have been out by now."
"It is it out, the only difference with this one is that it's known as the red sun. Basically, it blacks out the bright light and that helps with the night creatures to keep coming out."
"Wow, I'm impressed. So where are we going?"
Xaldin took my hand and then he led me through the woods until we got to the meadow. I saw wolves and then I watched as some of them turned into their human forms but they were in their birthday suits. I gasped and I quickly covered my eyes.
"For god sake! put some clothes on you idiots!!"
"Sorry boss, we didn't know you have a guest."
One of the werewolves told him. I heard shuffling and then I asked Xaldin.
"Is it safe to look yet?"
I peaked through my fingers and they had their clothes on. I sighed in relief and then I uncovered my eyes. I watched as a tall man with black hair, sky blue eyes and slightly tanned skin approach us.
"Alpha Damien, I'd like you to meet my friend Amelia. Amelia this Damien, he's the Alpha of the Silver Moon pack around here."
"It's nice to meet you, sir," I told him as we shook hands.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Miss Amelia. I must say, you're quite a beauty to look at," Alpha Damien told me before kissing the back of my hand.
Xaldin growled and then he wrapped his arm possessively around my waist. I blushed when he did this and then Xaldin said to him.
"Anyway, I was showing Amelia the realm around here and then I decided to bring her to meet you. But, now I'm beginning to think that was a mistake."
Xaldin mumbles that last part making Alpha Damien laugh.
"Xaldin, relax I can already tell she's taken. Besides, I've already got my own Luna who's also expecting our pup in a few months."
I was surprised when he said this and then Xaldin explained to me.
"Werewolf pregnancies tend to be a bit shorter than a female human's pregnancy."
"Oh yeah, how short are we talking?"
"Roughly about 5 to 6 months give or take."
"What?! that long for a werewolf?!" I shouted in a shocked tone making Alpha Damien and Xaldin laugh at my reaction.
"Anyway, allow me to show you around."
We followed Alpha Damien and I was impressed when I found out how big his pack was. As we were walked through the pack, a few pups ran by us in their wolf forms and then one of them jumped up on me and I caught her in my arms. I giggled when this pup started licking my face.
"Hehehe! stop that! that tickles!" I told the pup and then Alpha Damien spoke up.
"Oy, Serana! what have I told you about licking a guest's face?"
"Sorry, Uncle Damien."
Serana told me before she got out of my arms.
"Sorry about that, the pups are excited to meet you."
"It's fine, not the first time I had a pup licking my face in excitement."
Xaldin chuckled when I said this and then we continued to meet the other pack members. I did hear a few compliments from the other male wolves and I think I heard of them wolf-whistling me. This caused Xaldin to keep me close and growl at the other males. I couldn't help but chuckle at his jealous personality right now.
After we met the werewolves, Xaldin decided to let me meet the vampires. I just hope that none of them think about sucking my blood. We to an old building which was a mansion and it looked creepy. I held onto Xaldin's arm for dear life as we approached the mansion.
"Xaldin are you sure this is a good idea? I don't feel safe right now."
"Don't worry my dear, there's nothing to be frightened of, a vampire King is a nice person once you get to know him besides, he's already a mate."
"That's not what I'm worried about."
Once we got close to the entrance one of the gargoyles came to life and it roared at us. I squealed in fright before hiding being Xaldin's back.
"Enough!" Someone shouted and then a man with long silver hair and green eyes and pale skin appeared. He was wearing a smart suit and he glared at the gargoyle that scared me.
"Naughty gargoyle, what have I told you about scaring our guests?"
"Sorry boss, I thought they were a threat."
"They are not a threat, that's Xaldin and...huh?"
The silver-haired vampire looked at me with a surprised expression and he smiled.
"Oh my, what a beauty."
"Um...hi?" I said as I waved innocently at him.
Suddenly, he disappeared for a moment before appearing behind me.
"You must forgive me, my lady."
I jumped in fright and then he held my hand.
"My stupid guard has no manners you see, he really didn't mean to frighten you."
"Oh...that's okay, but um...who are you?"
"My name is Adam, I'm the King of vampires."
"My name is Amelia, it's nice to meet you, your majesty."
"Oh my dear, you don't need to be so formal with me. You can call me Adam."
Adam told me before he kissed the back of my hand and trailing up my arm. I looked at Xaldin and I mouthed 'help me.'
"Okay, Adam, that's enough."
Adam looked at Xaldin and then he released my hand.
"Oh, forgive me Xaldin. I just couldn't contain myself. I have never seen such a beautiful maiden like your friend before, women like her so rare these days."
"You can say that again," Xaldin told him as he wrapped his arm around my shoulders and I felt safe again.
"I was just showing Amelia my home and then we decided to come here and visit you. I apologise if I didn't give you more of a heads up."
"That's okay, I don't mind. In fact, you two are just in time for lunch. Would you like to come in and have a bite?"
I quickly hid behind Xaldin which made him and Adam laugh.
"Amelia, relax. He's not going to suck your blood."
"You promise he won't?" I asked as I peered over Xaldin's shoulder.
"My dear, I would never think about it besides, I've stuck to animal blood these days."
I sighed in relief and then we went into the mansion.
I was hiding in the shadows by using my invisibility spell that my mother taught me and I watched Amelia and Xaldin enter the vampire King's mansion.
'This is worse than I first thought. Amelia's attention is focused on Xaldin and she's not even worried about Dominic. I better hurry before it's too late.'
I thought to myself before I teleported out of the realm.
