Chapter 36: I Wonder If This Is What It Feels Like To Have A Family One Day

Orion City

After we had breakfast, Dominic and I were going to have a little walk around the realm but, I thought I'd share my world with him especially after everything we've been through. Well, that and I wanted to show Dominic what his kingdom looks now after all these centuries have passed.

We held hands as we walked through the city and we visited different shops and Dominic was curious about everything. I had to tell him some of the new devices that we invented and some of the yummy food have as well. I also suggested a place where we can have some fun so I suggested we go to the amusement park. Once we got there, the first ride when went on was the merry go round. I sat on one of the horses and then Dominic sat behind me.

"Hey! what are you doing?"

"Riding with my Princess."

"Hehe, good grief," I mumbled before Dominic held me close as the ride started.

Afterwards, we went one of the rides that spun us around really fast and once we got off it, I felt a little dizzy and Dominic was worse than me. The poor guy stumbled a few times while I laughed at him.

"Take it one step at a time," I told him as I wobbled a little.

"Easy for you to say, you're wobbling just as much as I am."

Dominic told me before I stumbled a little before he caught me in his arms. We both laughed and then we sat down on a nearby bench before we fell down. Dominic shook his head and he asked me.

"Amelia, has the world stop spinning yet?"

"Hahaha! I think so."

"You guys do this all of the time?"

"For family and dates? yes, we do."

"Families come to these places?"

"Well yeah, when I was little my grandparents used to bring me here all the time. Hehe, I remember this one time, Grandfather and I went on the teacup rides and we spun around so fast, the poor guy couldn't stop wobbling on the way home. He told me it was like being back on a ship."

Dominic chuckled when he told me this and I asked him.

"What about you? didn't you had any events like this when you were little?"

"Well we used to have carnivals and we used to have people perform for us when it was my birthday. I still remembered my mother bringing out this big birthday cake for me as well. I was always her little prince before..."

I held Dominic's hand and he squeezed it back when I comforted him. Dominic smiled at me and he kissed my cheek.

"Come on, let's get something to eat, I'm getting a bit hungry."

I told Dominic before we both stood up after the world stopped spinning. We were heading over to one of the food stalls until we heard a girl crying. We looked in the direction where the crying was coming from and we walked over to her.

"Hey sweetie, what's wrong?" I asked as I crouched down to her level.

"*Sob, sob* I can't find my mommy or daddy! *hic* I wanted some ice cream and I ran over here...but, when I turned to look for my mommy and daddy...they were gone!!"

The little girl started crying again. I got my handkerchief and I told her.

"There, there, it's going to be okay, sweetheart. Here, let's dry those tears."

The little girl took my handkerchief and she wiped away her tears with it. Dominic crouched down to her level and he said to her.

"We'll help you look for your parents, you can stick with us for a while."

"But, mommy and daddy said I'm not supposed to talk to strangers."

"She's a smart kid," Dominic told me with a smirk.

I giggled and I said to her.

"My name is Amelia and this is Dominic and what's your name, sweetie?"

"My name is Rosie."

"Well then, Rosie, we're not strangers anymore are we?" I spoke with a gentle smile.

Rosie spoke with a smile before Dominic picks her up in his arms.

"All right then, let's go and look for your parents."

"We should start heading back to the entrance, maybe someone has already reported a missing child."

"Sounds good to me, let's go."

As we kept an eye out for Lily's parents, I kept taking a few glances at Dominic and I watched how he carried Lily on his shoulders and she kept a grip on his hair.

"Wow, Dominic! you're so big and strong!"

"Why thank you," Dominic spoke with a smile.

I smiled at the pair of them and that made me think about the future. Once we got back to the entrance, I explained to one of the staff members that we found this child until we someone shout.

We turned to look and then Rosie shouted.

"Mommy! Daddy!" Rosie shouted happily.

Dominic placed Rosie back down on the ground before she ran over to her parents. We watched Rosie's mother pick her and she hugs her tightly while her father patted her head.

"Oh Rosie, we were so worried about you. Where were you and why did you run off?" Rosie's mother asked while stroking her back.

"I'm sorry Mommy, I wanted some ice cream but then, Dominic and Amelia found me."

The parents looked at us and then they smiled at us.

"Thank you so much for looking after her, I hope she wasn't too much of a hassle," Rosie's dad spoke with a smile.

"Not at all, she's a smart kid. When we asked her who she was, she told us she shouldn't speak to a stranger."

"*Chuckle* that's my girl, we taught her that unless it was necessary."

Rosie nodded her head and she said to us.

"Thank you again, Amelia! bye, Dominic!"

We waved bye to Rosie as she and her parents thanked us one last time before leaving. We both smiled as we watched them leave and then Dominic spoke up.

"She's a sweet girl, I wonder if our kids will be like that someday."

I was surprised when he said this and then I smiled at him.

"Funny, I was thinking the same thing."

Dominic smiled back at me before wrapping his arm around my shoulders and then we left the amusement park. After spending time with Rosie, it made me think about something. I wonder if this is what it feels like to have a family one day.
