Fantasy

The Beginning

She was born a human, turned cat, and was always happy.

So why was her life so hard?

Bella Valstro was never a 'normal' girl. She grew up, she laughed, she cried, like any other kid. She was born on June 11th in Venice, Italy, her home. Her parents would tell her stories of when she was younger.

"We had a difficult time coming up with your name," Her dad would say, "Your mom wanted your first name to be Rain."

"But he put an end to that," Her mom chuckled.

"So we made it your middle name," Her dad continued, "She then wanted Meadow as your first name."

"But he said 'With a name like that, she'd get made fun of,'" Her mom said, "So then we picked Bella."

"Bella Rain Valstro."

But she was made fun of anyway.

Not because of her name, but because of something else. Something she loved about herself, but detested at the same time. She loved being unique, and no one was more unique than her.

She loved to be weird. In her eyes, normal was boring. Even before 'turned cat' she was weird. She would tell stories to her hundreds of stuffed animals. She would make up the strangest stories and say they were true.

Her imagination was wild.

Her mom had been a famous scientist. On special days she would bring Bella to the lab with her. Like her birthday, or when Bella had off school but no one would be home.

Everyone loved the little bundle of joy at the lab. She was a bit too curious, but her mom always kept a good eye on her.

But that day, her mom didn't bring her to the lab because it was her birthday, or she had off school. This was an extra special reason.

And that reason would change Bella's life forever.

Lauren Sanby: This is an excellent story. Very gripping and keeps your attention throughout. Hoping the author is writing a sequel because I'd love to read more about Rhi and Andreas and find out what else Rhi is able to do with her powers.

genlynne2379: I read the other review of this book and I must say that I disagree with it wholeheartedly. I do not believe the author put the apostrophes in the names just to be unique, but because the characters are supposedly of a different race than humans. They are Anmah. They should have different names a...

Hudson: Your story was fantastic Erin! The Rising Sun was one of the first stories I read on Inkitt, and I have to say I don't regret the three to four days I spent pouring through the story.Probably the biggest strength I see in your writing is your characterisation of Eliana, Oriens, and the rest of th...

Satabda Chatterjee: Each and every charecter develops during the whole course of the journey and keeps secretly love for the princess . However the way that writter expressed each situatuons that the princess faced quite relevant and keeps the suspense always at the end of the chapter. . . .which makes the reader m...

Jhiane Rabang: The story was so interesting. I loved how the story has plot twists that I can't expect. I can't wait to read the rest of the story.

Catherine Kopf: Wow! This was a really great story. I really enjoy reading fantasy, so it didn't take long for me to become invested in the book and its characters like Jacob. Mourn8220House: When first reading "Avarice," I thought it would be another fairytale but I was taken back the author's approach and choice of ending. There is little to be said for the story and overall plot besides the sudden twists and speculation, other than that I do not want to ruin a fantastic tale, you m...

Felisa Yoder Osburn: I really enjoyed the story. Civil War stories are some of my favorites and the intertwining of the past with current times was wonderful. I look forward to reading the next stories.

littlebunnypoopoos: Omg this was so amazing! The ending was a little bad and predictable. But otherwise, I need a second book or I'll die :D The character development was excellent and the whole romance, action, and suspense was superb

Jason Phang: More, I want MORE! Your stories are keeping me from games and (gasp) even sleep! Each chapter brought fresh hooks that I willingly wolfed down (pun intended) and I just couldn't bear going to sleep not knowing what happens next to Lindsay and Wayne.
