Fantasy

The Beginning

She was born a human, turned cat, and was always happy.

So why was her life so hard?

Bella Valstro was never a 'normal' girl. She grew up, she laughed, she cried, like any other kid. She was born on June 11th in Venice, Italy, her home. Her parents would tell her stories of when she was younger.

"We had a difficult time coming up with your name," Her dad would say, "Your mom wanted your first name to be Rain."

"But he put an end to that," Her mom chuckled.

"So we made it your middle name," Her dad continued, "She then wanted Meadow as your first name."

"But he said 'With a name like that, she'd get made fun of,'" Her mom said, "So then we picked Bella."

"Bella Rain Valstro."

But she was made fun of anyway.

Not because of her name, but because of something else. Something she loved about herself, but detested at the same time. She loved being unique, and no one was more unique than her.

She loved to be weird. In her eyes, normal was boring. Even before 'turned cat' she was weird. She would tell stories to her hundreds of stuffed animals. She would make up the strangest stories and say they were true.

Her imagination was wild.

Her mom had been a famous scientist. On special days she would bring Bella to the lab with her. Like her birthday, or when Bella had off school but no one would be home.

Everyone loved the little bundle of joy at the lab. She was a bit too curious, but her mom always kept a good eye on her.

But that day, her mom didn't bring her to the lab because it was her birthday, or she had off school. This was an extra special reason.

And that reason would change Bella's life forever.

ElNachoWOTC: The grammar is tight and easy too read while packing a great vocabulary and you use a lot of vivid imagery with your words. One of the biggest things I noticed right away is the gritty realism you managed to cram into this book while going into a lot of exotic fantasy material. Including issue...

Rebeccaseal: This was an almost perfect story that I would recommend to anyone. The only thing I would work on is painting a more realistic picture of Haiathiel. Somehow the environment seemed limited, and the land itself a bit unfinished. This can be solved simply by added descriptions to people and places. ...

Nymeria: Really can't get enough of this story. It flows well, it captivates the reader from page 1, and throws you into such a well-written, well conceptualized world that you'll believe it's real. Everything in the book is meshed together really well. From character backgrounds to plot twists, you can t...

Olivia N J Hamel: I want this book. I love it so much. It is so enjoyable to read and to have a copy of this always, I would be very happy, to always be able to come back and look at it again.

Yellow: If you are looking for something original try Evening Goddess. Karina takes you on an adventure filled with tragedy and dangerous situations. The mixture of a serious plot and sexual situations keep you reading to discover what challenges she will face next. The novel will make you laugh, cry...

catd69: Karim is a very talented writer. When I started reading his journey it took me into the book and I was in the story till the end. I've never felt this way with any other writers stories. If you want to read a gripping adventure, this will be the one book I would suggest you pick.

Talon Richey: The answer to that question is NO! I absolutely loved the book, it has a way of lifting the magic right of the page and into the imagination. The story is well thought out and connects so easily with its self that as a reader i felt like it could actually be real. defiantly in my top five favori...

Deleted User: This is a very clever story in the style of 19th century (and turn of the century) Gothic writing, very reminiscent of Stevenson's The Body Snatchers or even of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (less so of Frankenstein itself, since the author is more minimalist than Shelley's florid, Romantic rhetoric). ...

Brie Lundy: I have never read a story like this before. It was riveting. It kept me captive. Once I started it I couldn't stop until it was finished. 10/10. I need more of this book. They need to find the Wizard!!

Schaelz: I was intrigued from the second I started reading, and it kept my interest the whole way through. Chelsea has a way with words that will enchant you until the very end. She is very poetic with the way she mixes genres and keeps you on the edge of your seat. The main character is also very relat...

RodRaglin: This is an interesting approach to a very topical subject. I hope you go on to explore the reasons behind the increase in teen suicides as well as tell an entertaining story.I like that you start with the inciting incident - the announcement of the suicide. In revision you might want to consider...

PurpleInkling: Hippocrite is spelt hypocrite. Also it is an awesome story! A good one after so long. I was hoping someone would write a good fanficiton playing off what Ron said at the station. You are doing a remarkable job. It would have been interesting if Albus had also ended up in Ravenclaw though that mig...
