“I don’t know what to do.” I whispered back.
“We can figure it out, but please, don’t reject me.” He said.
“I’m going back, to apologise to everyone.” I said as I took off towards the house. Cole was close behind me while I ran.
When I got back I quickly shifted and put my clothes on again, I made my way out to the back of the house. Everyone was still here. I walked up to Jo first.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to cause a scene.” I apologised.
“It’s alright, you’re just fighting for what you and your wolf are supposed to be.” She said giving me a sincere smile.
After I apologised to everybody, had cake and thanked everyone for coming, I made my way up to my room. Once I was in my bedroom, I shut the door and plopped down onto my bed.
‘Why does everything have to be so complicated?’ I asked Leah.
‘I don’t know, it’s just life I guess.’ Leah replied.
I brushed my teeth, got into my pajamas and sat on my bed. After that I must’ve dozed off.
I woke to a loud bang right next to my ear. I screamed and hit who ever it was. “Ow.” The person said. I looked up. “Cole, what are you doing in my room?” I asked.
He was holding the side of his face, where I had hit him. He was also holding a big pot with a metal spatula. “I came to wake you up.” He said in a duh tone.
I rolled my eyes. “Couldn’t you just wake me up like a normal person?” I asked raising my eyebrows.
“Well if you haven’t noticed yet, that were not human and you decided to wake me up with a blender remember?” He chuckled.
“Fine.” I sighed and stood up.
“So you’re gonna pretend nothing happened yesterday?” I asked.
He dropped his head and looked down. “Your my mate and nothing is going to change that, unless you reject me.” He said. I nodded and headed to the bathroom, grabbing clothes on the way. I had a quick shower got changed and came out of the bathroom. Cole was sitting on my bed.
“Do you want to come in my car to school?” He asked. Oh no, I forgot about school.
“Umm, sure.” I said as we headed downstairs. I grabbed an apple. And we drove off towards school. Thank goodness all my books were in my locker.
“What music do you like?” Cole asked, flicking through radio stations on the stereo.
“A bit of everything, mostly country.” I said looking out the window. Watching as the scenery passed.
“Cool.” He said, as he settled on one radio station, A Thousand Years by Christina Perri came on, I hummed quietly to the song. We finally arrived at school. As I jumped out of Cole’s truck, everybody was giving me dirty looks but I shrugged it off, after I seen Zaya running over to me.
“Hey.” She said excitedly giving me a quick hug.
“Hey.” I said just as excitedly.
And then I realised that Cole, had come from around the other side of the truck, to standing next to me. I seen Ryan and Xavier starting to walk towards us. They each had massive smiles on their faces.
“Hey.” They said as they reached us.
“Congrats, man. For you know finding your mate.” Ryan whispered and pointed to me.
“I don’t know what I’m doing yet, so. Just don’t.....get your hopes up.” I said, I seen a pained expression cross Cole’s face as I walked off inside, towards my locker.
I grabbed all the books I needed and Zaya and I walked off to our first class, history. When we got there everyone had already been seated. Zaya and I took our usual seats at the front. Half way through first period, there was a knock on the door. I didn’t look up because I was to busy writing notes. The door opened.
“Oh, class this is our new student. Would you like to introduce yourself and do tell why you were so late.” The teacher said, annoyance, clear in his voice.
“Hi, I’m Brent, I just moved here. And I was late because I got lost.” Brent explained.
I looked up for the first time, he had blonde sandy hair with hazel eyes, he had a big build, but not as big as Cole. “Well Brent take a seat, ummm.” The teacher thought for a moment.
“It’s probably not the best idea, but you’ll have to take a seat next to Sam, maybe you can teach her some manners. Sam raise your hand please.” The teacher sighed. I raised my hand slowly and smirked.
‘No one can teach me manners.’ I said and Leah laughed.
Brent smiled and took the seat next to me, so I was sitting in between Zaya and him. “Hi.” He said.
“Hi.” I responded.
“Are you sure he was talking about you needing manners? Cause I mean, your, you just.” He said gesturing towards me.
“I wouldn’t judge a book by its cover.” I smirked.
