Prologue

We live in a world like no other. A world that has been hidden from you since birth, you would never have imagined this world existed. Well it does, it always has, you've just never seen it. We live in a realm where humans and monsters walk the earth as one; Ghouls, Fairies, Mermaids, Demons, Vampires...

We coexist.

The humans don't see us, the monsters; to them we look like ordinary human beings. In fact the Monsters don't exactly see the monsters either, we can sense whether someone is a human or a monster, but we don't know what type of creature they are. Well at least most of us don't.

I happen to be one of very few who have the sight. You see, every creature has a physical characteristic that shows what creature they are, and this is what I see. Maybe it's better that way, for everyone to look normal to each other, except the chosen few, that way we can live in harmony.

I, of course, thought I would never have a problem in my life, being an Empath mind reader tends to get me out of a lot of trouble- Especially as my ability remains unknown to my parents. But I stopped thinking that, the day I read my sister's mind...regardless of the trauma, nothing could have ever prepared me for Mei.

Nothing.

Ro-Ange Olson: Loved it and couldn't put it down. I really hope there is a sequel. Well written and the plot really moves forward.

Morgan-Leigh Nortje: A storyline and plot not unlike something George R R Martin would have produced, only with far less tragedy. The stunning story of a young princess who goes into hiding and takes on an epic journey to save her father and her kingdom. With characters that you feel compelled to love and a plot that...

Nate_L: This story is amazing. The style, the description, it all drags you in. The characters are mostly the well known characters from King Arthur. There's Merlin, the sword: Excalibur. Elizabeth Robbins: 4.5 starsAs far as apocalypse stories go, this one took a new direction. I'm glad someone finally addressed the need for a vampire apocalypse! Sandra Leigh: excellent story. Lots of classic fairy tale elements with a fresh spin. Very much looking forward to the sequel. However, there are a number of typos and minor awkward sentences. ga1984: I really enjoyed it! Characters were deep and plot was pretty complex. A bit on the violent side but it doesnt detract from the story. Very dark but situations make sense. Ends kinda abruptly and later chapters will need some editing work. I'm assuming there's more in the works?

Girl on Fire: Great story, line Alex!!!It really has a edge on it. It put me on edge with its thrill. Can't wait to read the rest.!!!
