Lilith’s POV

"Don't act like a child, Ben. You're still in trouble for what happened when we picked up Dakota. You legit stole Lilith, and you just ran away. Like I understand that you're both best friends, but you can't just take her some place random in the middle of a crowded city with millions of people we don't know," Killian hissed, driving to the destination we needed to be at. Ben and I occupied our usual spots in the back beside each other.

"Well, Lilith needed a break. She's my best friend, my anchor, and my tormentor," he teased me with the "tormentor" part. I just rolled my eyes at him.

"Shut up, doofus. You're the annoying one," I poked Ben's average looking bicep. He lightly swatted my hand away from him.

"Stop fighting, you two idiots. Let's go. We're here," Killian mumbled the last part. Ben and I got out of the car, looking at the medium sized house. There was nothing special about it except for the dead plants around the house.

"Where are we, Killian?" Ben whispered, walking behind me while I walked behind Killian. I could feel Ben hesitate, but continue to follow.

"A house. I know who the P.S. is. Why don't you both stay here and let me deal with her?" Killian's question sounded more like a statement. Ben looked skeptical, but grabbed my right hand in his left one, keeping me from leaving.

"Yeah, we'll stay," Ben told him before leading me back to the car. I turned back to see Killian with a hard look on his face as he entered the house.

Whatever he was going to face was much bigger than him. It was someone that destroyed him before. I could tell.

"I want to know what's going on," I turned to Ben in the back seat. He just nodded, bringing my head towards him until my head rested on his flat chest.

"I know, my queen. Killian seemed very adamant about not letting you in there though. I'm sorry," he whispered, pressing a kiss to my head. Breathing in the scent of my Ben, I pushed off of him before slamming my lips to his.

Ben groaned, pulling my body on top of his lap so that I straddled his waist. I let out a gasp.

"Ben, we c-can't," I sighed out between kisses. Ben just pushed my hips down onto his own, meeting my heat with his very hard cellphone. That's when my eyes drifted to the middle seat and saw his abandoned phone.

Killian's POV

"Is that you, honey?" She let out a choked sob before stepping towards me and pulling me into a bear hug like she used to do seventeen years ago.

"Wait, stop," I pushed her shoulders, getting her off of me. She stared at me with a mix of confusion and hurt. I felt terrible, knowing that I hurt the woman I once loved.

"What's wrong? Didn't you miss me?" She asked, grabbing my hand in hers, bringing it to her lips to kiss. Watching her do that reminded me of Dakota and President Trenton. I saw red for a second, jealousy flooding my thoughts.

"Beth, you've been gone for fourteen years. I thought you were dead," my voice almost broke due to the words I had uttered. She looked shocked, tears escaping her green eyes. Her black hair looked as if it were shorter, almost at a bob now.

"But I'm here. I came back for you because I love you," Beth sadly smiled at me. That's when I felt a cold chill surround my body.

"What about Eli? Forget you have a daughter?" I hissed, yanking my hand out of hers. She gasped, shaking her head frantically.

"No! Of course not! I remember Eli! She's my fucking daughter Killian! Of course I'd remember her," Beth dramatically screeched. I rolled my eyes at her.

She never loved Eli. She never will.

"You need to either go to a parallel timeline or away from me," I said in a hushed voice. It hurt enough seeing the woman I knew I'd want to spend the rest of my life with, but realizing that I don't love her anymore hurt worse than anything.

"But, Killian, we love each other. We're engaged remember?" Beth tried to step towards me, but I held up my left hand. I wasn’t wearing the ring she gave me, and she could tell. Her eyes drifted to my ring finger. It was the finger she loved to look at before when she proposed to me.

“Why don’t you have the ring?” She sobbed some more, now trailing her watery eyes to my face.

“I- I’m sorry. You’ve been gone for so long. I thought you were dead. I... I fell in love with someone else which is why you need to go,” I told her as she crumbled to the ground in a crying heap. I felt like consoling her, but when I remembered how she acted with Eli, I instantly refrained from being near her.

“Killian?” My head snapped to the door way to see Lilith.

“Lili, leave. Now!” I roared, stomping towards the door. She looked frightened, but slowly backed up towards the door. Then, she saw the lady on the ground.

“Is that the P.S.?” She asked, looking into my stressed eyes. She instantly knew the answer.

“Leave,” I hissed, almost slamming the door in her face, but before I could, Ben used his powers to slam open the door.

“What’s going on, Killian?” Ben got straight to the point. Lilith stared up at me, expecting an answer. I sighed out.

“Please, Princess. I wouldn’t tell you this unless it was in your best interest. Listen to me,” I pleaded before grabbing the door again, this time they let me get close to closing the door.

“Eli?” I heard from behind me, but couldn’t stop the following events from unfolding. It was a whirlwind of emotions and confusion.

“Who’s Eli?” Lilith asked, looking at me while Beth stared at Lilith.

“I think you are, Lilith,” Ben spoke up, using her actual name instead of “my queen” which he normally uses. Lilith looked at Ben for a second before trailing her eyes to Beth. Then, she stared at me with hurt because she had figured out a piece of the lie I’ve been telling her during her entire life.
