Hey, muffins!! I actually updated at the right time!!! HAHA YAY!! -Mel <3
What am I supposed to do about this? Become a detective? I don't think Killian killed her. It would be too risky for him.
I stuffed the ring in my pocket, exiting the room. I went back to my room hurriedly, trying to solve the mystery of the dead Taylor.
Let's think. The possible suspects are Killian, Lilith, the guards, the scientists, and I. Let's be real here, I don't think I did it. Lilith couldn't have done it. She's too kind, too soft. She's my queen. She would never. Killian might've done it, but it's very unlikely due to the risk he'd be taking for absolutely nothing. So who killed Taylor?
"Can you sleep with me tonight?" I heard a frail voice come from my doorway. I looked to see her standing in all her glory. She was beautiful.
"My queen, what's wrong?" I stood to pull her into a hug. She rested her head on my chest. A sniffle could be heard.
"I'm scared. My head is pounding, and I feel like I'm forgetting something so important that it's eating me alive," her muffled sounds escaped from the space between her head and my chest.
Oh crap, something is messing with the wave length between Killian and Lilith. She's breaking through the bond for some reason. That's odd. Maybe she still has a piece of the chip inside of her from when she was a child. If that's the case then I need to ask Killian about it.
"Let's go to bed, my queen. We'll figure it out together in the morning," I smiled softly at her before teleporting us to her room. She just simply nodded, walking to her silk covered bed.
"Killian, you're the best thing that has ever happened to me," she whispered, slipping underneath the covers. I took off my shoes, joining her in my own paradise.
I wrapped my strong arms around her small frame, hugging her to me. I wish that even during the day we could be like this. I wish that I could love her when I wanted to, not just in secret.
"I really want nuggies right now," she tiredly yawned, turning around to snuggle closer to my chest. My arms were wrapped around her back now. Her head rested on my chest.
"Go to bed, dork," I snorted, pulling her as close as I could before closing my eyes too, letting the darkness overtake me.
"No! Taylor, you can't. Please. I love him! Stop! No!" I woke up to Lilith screaming in her sleep, tears falling down her face. My shirt was drenched in her sweat and tears. Something was wrong.
"Lilith, wake up," I tried shaking her awake. She wouldn't wake up. I tried projecting myself into her thoughts, but it was a jumbled mess.
I found myself in a dark place. No light flooded the room except for some mysterious light coming from the ceiling. It was dim, only illuminating a circle in the middle of the room.
I stepped forward to get a better look at what was going on. Lilith is going to be in here somewhere. But where?
"Lilith?" I called, trying to find her and wake her from her dark rem cycle.
"Taylor, you shouldn't have threatened me like that. Trust me when I say this, you don't want to meet the man that killed my parents," a voice that resembled Lilith's flooded the place. It echoed for miles, blending with another thing she said, "This is P.S. 092. He's not friendly, but at least he hasn't tried to kill me. Can't say the same for you."
I flinched from her cold voice. Another thing blended with the last two. It was now getting harder to decipher what she was saying.
"Tear her to shreds. She threatened to expose my darkest secret."
"I love him. You'll never be able to take that away."
"Don't even try to resist. I'm certified crazy when it comes to Ben," that's when my ears started ringing. She killed Taylor. Lilith killed Taylor for me.
"You'll never expose our relationship because he's more mine than Killian is yours. Killian doesn't even know you exist," she hissed out. I can't take this anymore. My hands covered my ears, trying to block out her devious voice.
"Ben?" This voice sounded like my queen. This was my Lilith. She was pure, innocent, perfect. She would never kill Taylor. She couldn't.
"Lili?" I stumbled to the circle of light, seeing her curled into fetal position. I ran to her.
"Ben, I'm a monster. I killed her, and I don't even know her. I killed an innocent person because I love you," she cried, unwrapping herself from the ball and threw herself into my arms. I caught her.
"Shh... it's okay. We'll be okay. It's fine. We have to help each other though. Listen to me. You walked in on P.S. 092 killing her. You were terrified and had short term amnesia. You stumbled into me and told me that you were going to visit her but forgot about it. I followed you to go visit her, but the P.S. was in his cell again and she was dead in her shower. Okay? You didn't kill her. P.S. 092 did," I told Lilith while she sniffled. She looked up at me, tears in her eyes.
"I didn't kill the girl?" She asked. Then, our surroundings started changing. The horrible comments that were swarming her mind hushed. The room was no longer dark and dreary. The light grew, creating a golden glow over the floor.
"No. You didn't. Let's go back to reality, okay?" I questioned, grabbing her and transporting myself out of her mind again and back to my own. She was left in her own mind, but now she was awake, staring at me.
"What happened? That was a weird dream I had," she yawned, sitting up. I followed suit, keeping quiet.
Lilith killed Taylor, but she couldn't know or else she would eat herself alive for it. My Lilith could never kill someone. I choose to believe she's the good in the world. I love her. I'd sacrifice myself to save her if I could. So, that's what I'll do.
