Chapter 41

Lilith’s POV

As soon as I woke up, I reached for Ben only to find out he wasn't there. I was back in my room on my bare mattress. I sat up, groaning. I wonder if they're almost done. I wonder if Ben is okay.

I slipped out of the bed and made my way to the courtyard. There, I found Dakota watching my mother like a hawk. My mother was sitting on a stone bench, definitely plotting something. I just hope it doesn't ruin what we could have.

“Hey, Dakota, could you let me talk to my mom for a second? I just want us to be on the same page about something. I don’t think she knows how loyal I am to my actual family,” I said to Dakota. She turned to face me.

“Be careful. She’s a master manipulator. She won’t stop at anything to get what she wants,” she whispered, walking inside. I made my way to my mother before sitting on the bench next to her. How did we find ourselves in this position again?

“I’ll help you. On one condition. You write whatever you know about me in a book. I want a reference guide that I can go back to if I ever need it. Deal?” I held out my right hand for her to shake. She looked at it for a moment before shaking it.

“I guess. Now tell me, how’re you going to get rid of Dakota?” She smirked while I avoided rolling my eyes at her.

“I will make a prison world for her. I will get Ben to teleport her to the prison world and then come back to teleport us to the actual world. How does that sound?” I asked.

“Sounds great. I’ll get working on that book if you get working on that world,” she stood from the bench and turned around to face me.

“I love him. I will stop at nothing to get what I want. I hope you know that,” she smiled at me with a hidden intention, and she left to go write what I needed.

I stood in the middle of the courtyard and sighed. Time to use up all of my energy again. I got started on making a marble sized ball of light before letting it grow in my hands.

“My queen, what’re you doing? You don’t have enough energy for this. We already have our world. It’s perfect,” Ben rushed over to try to stop me from creating another world.

“I have to. I made a deal with my mother. She wants Dakota gone. I’m making a prison world,” I slightly yelled over the whipping winds. He looked at me as if he didn’t know me.

“How could you do that to her? How could you do that to Killian?” He questioned, pulling a hand on my arm. I shrugged it off before looking at the car sized rock.

“I would never do that to them, but you just have to trust me,” I leaned to whisper in his ear. He looked at me. Like truly looked at me. He looked into my soul and knew. He knew. And he didn’t even have to read my mind.

“I trust you,” he kissed my cheek and let me do my thing before teleporting the world into the sky. When we were finished, I saw a gray world with gray trees and barely any water or animals. I left a house there that looked like our childhood home and left it stocked with food and essentials. I didn’t want her to die.

“Are you done with the P.S.s?” I asked Ben once everything was quiet again. He nodded and held my right hand in his left.

“We can do this,” I whispered to him before projecting my thoughts and my plan into his head. He turned to look at me, giving me a hard look before pulling me in to kiss my lips.

“I love you, Lilith,” he rested his forehead on mine.

“I love you, Benjamin.”
